"Likewise," she said and finished the piece of fish. She was full for the moment, her belly filled with relief at having something to digest at all. How long had it been since her last, proper meal? Oh, yes, since she had been rescued in the Usque by the elf who had fed her venison and fruit. She didn't remember much after that because of the flood.
"I will have another when it is ready please?" she asked, knowing one more piece would do wonders for her after nearly drowning. Normally, she wasn’t so hungry after a fever, but her stomach had been empty for some time. She felt fine, now that she had eaten. Well, she was still as weak as a newborn kitten, and she didn’t mind that the handsome stranger was making a fuss over her because she found him quite appealing.

"Of course, I believe your dress should be dry as well, I'll retrieve it."
He'd been avoiding her state of undress, not that it was particularly revealing but it simply wasn't polite to stare. When he'd been undoing her clothing it had been necessary to look at times but he wasn't going to focus upon it with her own gaze upon him. He went down towards the line he'd ran to hang them upon having to take the stairs and was out of her sight for the moment. He'd come back holding the almost stiff fabric. The saltwater had done it no favors but it would loosen with wear.
He'd folded it over his arm and he would gently lay it almost at her feet when he did so and take the plate in return.
"I'll give you a moment and check on the fish," he told her those green eyes looking up too quickly and meeting her own. It was almost impossible for him to be any redder then when he'd been undoing the laces on her dress but with her eyes on him somehow he managed it.

She nodded as he left her and then waited until he was gone from sight to get out of the over-warm blanket and into whatever it was that he brought her. She was glad for the shade because the heat was almost unbearable beneath that blanket. She sighed and lay back down in the shadows, grateful not to be in the sun right then for she was sure that it was even hotter out there than in the shade.
Her stomach felt better than it had in some time, too, for which she was grateful too. She did her best to comb her fingers through her hair as she thought about things like empty bellies and faces in the mist. What kind of a journey had it really been?
She was starting to fidget.

He'd return in a short while dropping off the plate for her pleased to see she was in normal clothing once again. It meant he could meet her gaze if she chose to meet his own. Those moments it had trailed while he carried her... well the feminine features were the only reason he'd made it as far as he had. He'd needed shelter from the heat and from the sun for her more for himself.
Handing it to her directly he had a secondary one with a few other pieces and he'd hand her a flask, "I've not found much. There's a bit of drinking water left that wasn't tainted. I still boiled it to be sure. It may be a little warm but it is clean enough."
There needed to be a discussion of what came next, where they went from there, and as he sat on the rail overlooking the sea his dark tresses covering his eyes he could conceal only part of his worry in the distant looks.

She did meet his gaze. Her belly clenched at the sight of those green orbs that reminded her of gems. Mia's mouth went dry and she realized that maybe a drink of somewhat warm water was appealing. She took the flask and drank of it, only taking in a few sips. She then returned to eating, making short work of the fish but full enough after that.
Amia finally spoke again, "Thank you... for everything." She reached out a hand to touch his in the briefest of moments, to feel the simplest of feelings... the mere feeling of human contact.
She sat up and drew her legs toward her chest, still holding onto the empty plate. "Well, what do we do now?" She hadn't read his mind, just merely had a similar thought that they needed to talk about what to do next.

Her touch drew him back down to reality, to looking at her, to focusing that green that shifted like the unbearing straits of the sea that lay before them. He'd not often felt a gentle touch but he found that he quite enjoyed the sensation of fingertips not made of calluses trailing over the back of his hand. It was like a jolt, something new.
"You're welcome," he would say more gruffly than he meant his lower register coming into play as he had to clear his throat in order to say it.
"I suppose that we look for civilization," he would say a sigh heaving and making his shoulders move dramatically, "I need to dive into the wreckage and see if we can find anything worth using. We'll have to travel at night in this sort of heat but it will be cold then too."

She nodded and set the plate down, then began to comb her fingers through the snarls of her bright locks. What she wouldn't give for a bath right then, for she felt sticky and disgusting. But there would be no help for that. Eventually, her hair is somewhat fixed and soon braided. "You do that and I will clean the dishes... I need to get up and move around or I will not get better."
She did not move just yet from how she sat, for she was comfortable. "You should probably rest too before nightfall so you are refreshed." She knew she was going to have to try and move from sitting. They could not simply stay where they were at, though staying along the coastline was appealing.
"Suppose we do find people..." she wondered out loud. Her eyes looked faraway for a moment.

He would not forgo her the task that she requested. Frankly, it was of little importance and he had but barely managed to get them clean to start where he'd found them in what he believed was the captain's quarters beneath them. "I do not believe either of us will be able to set out tonight," she was but barely moving and he still had to gather and find what supplies he could before they set off. Specifically any linens they could use to keep themselves warm and he was creating a litter for his armor and other accouterments.
"I will dive while there is light out." From their location, he'd have to go down the ladder and leap off from there. The rest of the ship was fairly well submerged so it would take him time to come up and down in the water to do it.
As she looked off into the distance he frowned, "We shall be careful."

She nodded at his next words, deciding he was right because she was still as weak as a newly born kitten. Her eyes still drank the sight of him in for the moment, but he would have to go under soon. She moved to stand, somewhat wobbly... no... a lot wobbly. Then she sat back down for the moment. Her limbs still felt heavy and over encumbered. She sighed and said, "Please be careful."
Eventually she did get up and she did scrub the dishes clean just to give herself some sort of useful task. Unfortunately, all she had to work with was salt water and sand.

He smiled, perhaps too quickly when she told him to be careful. It reminded him of his mother when he ran off to play in the woods, or when he became a squire, always concerned with him making sure he did not injure himself in some way or another. He would not that smile broadening just a little, "Always Mi'lady," which was also what he told his mother.
When she made her way down her timing was either unfortunate or gratuitous for her. She would catch sight of him on the lower deck pulling off his shirt in order to keep something dry before his dive. He'd grab it by the edges and pull it straight up. The action was not slow but it seemed to be breathtakingly so as he revealed the physique beneath it. His armor may have been rounded to glance off blows but his body was anything but. There were hard planes of muscle beneath the loose linen and as it landed beside him she'd get a full glance at the tight chest his arms raising to draw his locks up into a leather thong.

She got an eye full alright and she stared, never really having seen a shirtless man before. Oh my, she thought, he was trouble wasn't he? In the good kind of way. Her eyes freely traced the lines of every muscle on display and she sighed longingly. Then she turned her gaze away, pretending she didn't just catch all of that.
Her face would be red for a few minutes.
She turned her attention to scrubbing the dishes.
He was going to drive her to madness, wasn't he?

Elias had been aware of her presence nearby but he'd not glanced upward as he'd pulled aside his boots putting them aside. Stretching his arms across his chest his eyes were on the water. He walked to the edge of what planks he felt could hold his weight before leaping from them. He had the sort of grace that spoke of having swam for the joy of it before.
He submerged before coming back up for air tossing his head back when he came out of the water. A few tendrils of hair had come loose and he brushed them away from his forehead water dripping around him and from his arms as he trod the water.
Those green eyes opened and went upward. He knew she was near somewhere but was not expecting her close or in the line of sight. Mainly because she knew he'd be in the water but it wasn't as if he was so modest as to be embarrassed.

She felt hot and sticky by the time she was done with the scouring of the dishes. She wanted to go into the water but some part of her was frightened by it after she'd nearly drowned. It wasn't something someone could easily forget. She stooped over the water and splashed some on her face to cool her, wishing for fresh water soon to not only drink of, but to bathe in.
When he came upward, she could not help but watch the way the sunlight glistened on the droplets of water streaming down his chest. She could feel a tightening in her belly and swallowed heavily. Heat crept up the back of her neck and she turned her thirsty gaze away. Mia grabbed the dishes then and thought she would pretend she didn't notice, walking back toward the blessed shade.

Her flaming hair was hard to ignore and it was caught out of the corner of his eye. They could not completely avoid one another in the days to come and some expectation of how he was to act around her was still there. He considered her a lady after all. But he could not remain under for so long that he would drown to avoid her if she was near. Therefore he would go back under and begin his search in the section of the ship that was still underwater.
It was hardly revealing at first. Most of it was crew quarters and much of the cargo had been lost when the ship had went under. He found some coin, broken tables and chairs, and a locked room he thought might hold supplies. He'd come up with that knowledge surfacing and taking in deep gulping breaths.
He needed something to break the door in, or break the handle, the water pressure was likely equalized on both sides so it would not be intensely difficult other than the fact it was underwater. Drawing himself onto the deck he'd been at it about an hour at that point and he knew he should take a break before he tackled it.

By the time all was said and done, she had seen plenty of him and not enough at the same time. It irritated her, to be honest, for she was starting to daydream about those muscles of his. She was looking around for shellfish now, not looking anymore, not torturing herself. Every now and then, however, she would chance a glance toward the water where she had been starting to worry that he might be down too long.
