Age: 20
Appearance: The look like a light Portuguese Man O War with a brain. It's brain cavity is clear allowing you to see inside it's body. The tentacles are long and lets them move around quickly and attack themselves to others of their species.
Equipment: They sometimes carry living weapons made out of other Synchs
Skills and Abilities: Using other members of their species they are able to shape their bodies to look like other species. Their mimicry is imperfect and normal intelligent species are able to tell the difference. This process involves synchphons analyzing their target and attaching themselves to each other to shape themselves. This process takes them about half an hour.
Magic helps this process and allows them to change colors to match the species or environment.
They can mimic abilities of other species when they shape shift. The abilities they copy are not as strong as the thing they copy, depending on the power level. They first transform into the user and see the ability in action for them to be able to replicate it.
Given that they are are colonial organisms their bodies can be cut into prices multiple times and are able to regenerate in a couple of days. If their brain is damaged however they die, and the body returns to their colony. Some parts are able to photosynthesize.
Usually they live underwater but are fast climbers and tunnelers because of their hardiness.

The synchs where crushed underneath the weight. They squirmed and trashed wildly, filled with anger at this opponent. Twisted and turned, trying to escalate themselves from the sand.
They didn't know if their opponent died and decided it would be best to try to drown the other two people trapped with them. One tried swiping at Jace, but they where out of reach.
Seeing no better way out, they decided to keep digging. Reno was slowly begining to regain consciousness as he heard the cries of their brethren.

Kua Redford

Roleplay posts: 104
Age: 90 (appears early 20s)
Appearance: A thin half-elf, whose olive skin has a greenish tint. Slightly pointed ears. Noticeably wide grin. Dark brown eyes and straight black hair.
Her knuckles are calloused with little scars.
Equipment: A pitch black long coat-style gambeson and a kettle helmet. A longsword inscribed with runes. A pouch of medicinal herbs. A buckler with a long chain attached to it.
A clay flute. A pair of fuzzy pink earmuffs.
A thick black book filled with strange notes...
Skills and Abilities: Kua possesses remarkable gymnastic and martial arts abilities. Her kinesthetic intelligence is very high. She is also a skilled sword fighter and unconventional buckler wielder. Kua also possesses the potential for fire and holy magic. The mists keep it at bay, but the force of her emotions can occasionally overcome it.
She is quite skilled with a flute.
She struggles with complex abstract concepts and mathematics, and demonstrates no social fear. She has a heart condition that requires periodic herbal treatment.
Biography: Kua Redford was born with a disability similar to William's Syndrome. Her parents were overprotective and fearful Kua would never be able to live a normal life. However, Kua also possessed a fierce, independent drive. What started as basic self-defense lessons became an obsession with becoming a warrior so that she could survive on her own.
Kua was enabled by the King of her city-state of Whitehall, a man who saw great potential in her. He had her further trained so she could fulfill her wish of becoming a great paladin someday. Although there were many doubters and Kua's progress was slow, the king went to his deathbed still believing in her dream.
(It didn't hurt that the king was secretly her grandfather. But that is a very long story.)
Because Kua is a half-elf, she ages slowly. Bigots from her world believe her "condition" to be a result of her being a half-breed.

As the synchs tried to pull Kua into the water, they'd find that she weighed nothing at all.
Then they'd feel a heavy, bone breaking smack through her cloth armor.
Kua had slipped out of her gambeson to escape getting caught by the synch's tendrils. Her coat, which a larger trench coat style, would temporarily block their view as she kicked through it, like a curtain.
"Go! Back! To! The! Wah! Ter! Giant! Jelly! Thing!" She kicked with surprising force for her size, although a part of her still wanted to show mercy. Her sword was sitting in the sand just behind her.
Between her kicking angrily, Travels Far using himself as a giant weight, and Jace throwing things, the fight had taken a somewhat comedic turn.
"Uh! Good! Job! Jace!" Kua yelled back as she kept kicking through her coat. "Maybe! Find! Some! Rocks!!"
Despite her anger, Kua was grinning. It was a mix of the absurdity of their situation, and relief that Jace was ok.

Travels Far began curling itself inwards, limbs bending bonelessly akin to a cephlapod as it twisted around the synches with the simple aim to crush or at the very least, engulf the targets.
As standard, Travels Far was completly silent, no primal growl, no chittering screech, no barking of orders or spitting of threats. It was difficult to tell how much of the Travels Far who had been talking with them not to long ago was awake, and how much of this was pure instinct, or worse residual programming from it's old warring days.

The synchs saw they where loosing, they knew they could not keep this up. Seeing their body was completely trapped by the faceless they decided they had to do their last movement. They let go of their targets and focused on escaping.
Their torso split, separating their legs and with their slippery jelly like bodies they slipped out. Their bone like growths where crushed and broken but still alive. The bone growths and broken tentacles began slithering closer to the water.
As for the brain synchs they hopped and flopped, making a break for the water. The mangled mess of body parts threw itself to the water. Reno jumped first and shed it's body. The limbs and body parts began burrowing themselves in the sand, mindlessly clumping together.

Travels Far had witnessed many things, many many strange things that even still it did not understand, it had not seen something dismember itself to escape. But the fact that it was escaping was satisfactory enough. The aim was not to kill after all, merely to repel. Though some isurance may be needed.
The faceless picked itself up with alien fluidity and reared back as a cluster of orfices opened up in it's flesh as it released a nausuating low frequency howl that made eyes quiver and stomachs churn.

Jace sat down as he watched the creature scramble away. He lets out a deep sigh of relief and clutches his head. "My head hurts" he groans "but I'm glad it is all over, I dislike fighting." Jace didn't care if he had any injuries, he couldn't feel if he was bruised or cut. All he felt was the throbbing rhythm in his head.
"Are you both okay?" he asks more concerned to his friends than himself.

Kua huffed and puffed. But only when the synchs were completely submerged in water did she finally sit down to fully catch her breath.
Hearing Jace say his head hurt made Kua shuffled over to him. "Let me see," she uttered. She leaned in close and gently lifted up his bangs to check for bleeding and bruises on his forehead. Then she ran her fingers through his hair to feel for blood and bumps. He seemed to be alright, so she put an arm around his shoulder for a quick hug, sighed with relief, and pulled back to stare over the water.
"You were very brave."
She was unaffected by Travels Far's unearthly growl of intimidation (owing to her condition). In fact, she cupped her hands around her mouth and yelled over the water, "Yah! What he said!" She hoped this little display of humor would help Jace feel more at ease.

The synchs, scared and hastily jumped in the water with a big splash. Reduced to their individual selves they could no longer fight on their own. Reno, from within the water glared at the group with a strange look of hatred and determination. They where determined to show their strength to this new and strange world. Its brainless body parts that didn't burry themselves slowly followed them.
As Reno and their friends swam back to the queen they noted the strange faceless monster. They didn't like things they didn't understand. Should their expansion continue they will have to find ways to deal with them. Reno was going to study them slowly, and hopefully become strong enough to beat one. With that in mind they swam back to the ocean. They are going to need to find some other species to study in the mean time. Assimilation is their first priority.
