Because Kua is a half-elf, she ages slowly. Bigots from her world believe her "condition" to be a result of her being a half-breed.

"The choice was obvious. But it didn't make the weight any lighter. Kua drew her sword. She tried to remember the Corrupted One, the last sentient life she had willingly taken, an unrepentant power monger who threatened to doom several worlds. But it just wasn't the same. A curious thing happened. As Kua examined her blade, testing its sharpness with her finger tips, one of her tears fell onto the fuller. There, a little pool of golden light emerged. It spread across the blade, bathing it, until the whole sword turned as luminous as hot coals. Kua stared impassionately at the phenomenon, as if expecting it. But the truth is, she really hadn't. Grief and surprise caught her face in a tug of war, leaving it rather neutral. Like Aleena, much of her power had been lost in the Mists, though unlike others in her position, she hadn't been as driven to explore the limits of what remained. She just wanted to survive and make friends with others. But it seemed emotions were the missing reagent. Deciding not to question it, Kua raised the shining blade over her shoulder "No, you are worth it. And Travel's Far is right. I know what it is to be hungry." Kua's body tensed. She took a breath. Her voice alternated between strained softness and whisper. "Your next life will be better. I promise. And... I also promise this isn't going to hurt." Wait. ZHWING! As she brought the blade down, she felt a presence gently lift on her sword, fouling her aim. "What the-?!" The sword would pass through the vampire's mouth like it was air. Then, the white hotness would stick to Aleena and eat away at the undead's fangs, reducing the bone, nerves, and blood vessels to dust. From Aleena's perspective, it wouldn't hurt. They'd simply go numb and be missing, just like that. The rest of Aleena's body would be completely unharmed. She had merely been, well, defanged. Kua blinked rapidly. She had always dreamed of becoming a paladin someday. But she had never actually witnessed a miracle before. Something had intervened to spare the vampire's life, something genuinely benevolent. Confused, she turned to Travels Far. "You said I could keep her alive with pain and scars. I thought you were speaking metaphorically, but you meant that literally didn't you?" (Kua suddenly felt very stupid. She hoped she wouldn't have to rely on divine intervention to clear up all future language-based misunderstandings with the Faceless, or else the gods wouldn't have time to run the rest of the universe.)

Roleplay posts: 23
Age: She looks to be in her thirties
Appearance: Description: The vampire is a thin and tall figure with skin that resembled the color of a birch tree. Her eyes glow with a misty red under the dark hazel. Her hair is a very short cut as to avoid getting caught up on her hunts. A solid red cloth bandana covers up her mouth. Her mouth was more of a snake like set of fangs carrying a hefty paralyzing venom.
Her clothes were of a sturdy make with a more weathered look to them. Mostly it was cow leather, but there was a bit of clean cotton and jean like materials mixed in to provide a healthy practical set of clothes.
Race: Human Vampire
Height/Weight: She is slightly above average in height. However, due to a limited diet she is a lot more of a light weight.
Equipment: Weapons/Tools of the Trade: She tends to carry a hefty pair of machetes for both practical and defense uses. Other than that, a combat survival knife and other basic things are quite normal to find on her person or in her survival sack.
Skills and Abilities: Strengths: She's incredibly focused, and as a result has outlived most of her kin. She has a very keen attention around her making it hard to sneak up or get the better of her. Her previous life as an assassin has given her a round set of skills including stealth and a very good ability to read a room.
Weaknesses: She's not very good morally. She can be very selfish and doesn't enjoy to think about the needs of others. When she does she starts to realize the hypocrisy of what she says and she doesn't enjoy the realization.
Magic Abilities: She doesn't have any per say, but she's very adapt at noticing them.
Normal Skills: Hunting and general survival is something she's been forced to learn. She's also very good in quick hand to hand combat, often forcing her oponents unto unstable footing or ground to go for the killing blow.
Motivation: She wishes to simply survive, and due to this very single track mindset hasn't really drifted into what to do beyond that.
Biography: Backstory: The vampire worked as an assassin for a large group of them from before the collapse. It's really as simple as that.

(Kua suddenly felt very stupid. She hoped she wouldn't have to rely on divine intervention to clear up all future language-based misunderstandings with the Faceless, or else the gods wouldn't have time to run the rest of the universe.) The vampire was confused, she really wasn't worth all the trouble. She was a huntress, scum of the earth, and she knew her sins. Even if she rarely wished to confront them, but being next to the door of death draws out such thoughts. The Shepherd always extends that mercy, a life flashing before your eyes, for what other reason than to remind you of your sins, and that you must come to terms elsewise face eternity in denial and an everlasting death. The words of the elf did not bring comfort, she knew she could have been better. She had not tried her hardest, that much was obvious. Was the option to lay down her life? Maybe, maybe that's what she should have done. Her pride was her downfall, if she had tempered it maybe she would have felt a sense of accomplishment and peace, but what is sown will be equally received. Maybe, the Shepherd would have some mercy on her now. She looked at the elf and gave a small smile, the stress was lighter now, a sense of ease filled her soul. There was one thing she could do now, and that was not allow another mistake. Her words were quiet but firm, "I am content." Then the SNAP.Aleena was frozen, paralyzed as she thought. Was this what death was? Did it take this long? It took a second or two before she felt the numbing uncomfortable feeling in her open mouth and slowly moved her jaw. Then she laughed, her head leaning back as she began to cry, "Oh, oh that is quite ironic...and yet I cannot complain," her tone was that of hope, but quite worn, "Seems, my pride is to be taken..." Aleena said with a quiet pained exclamation. Her body's last bit of energy was gone now, and now her eyes were closing, being driven down by the force of exhaustion. The day was over for her, and now the 'morrow would bring the toll of her actions. The vampire's body was now limp, dark blood stained her clothes, and her mouth was left gaping open now devoid of the pride and fearsome beauty it once had, scared forevermore.

Travels Far was to be quite blunt. Shocked. It had seen magic, it had seen, swords it had seen, even magic swords it had seen. Magic swords that don't kill things? That was new. After a brief moment it registered within the synapses of the Faceless that it had been asked a question.
"I...No. I speak my ways out of habits and memories, when I spoke of pain and scars I had a plan, ugly but a plan. I would take your blood and meat, and make it mine. I have no ichor of my own but with yours I could make more. Perhaps enough to sustain this..." Travels Far gestured at the unconcious vampire. "One."
Talking really wasn't its strongpoint no matter how flowery it's words were.

Kua's face turned hot, and her stomach churned.
"Jace is going to be furious with me. He will think I am a fool, and he will be correct."
She ran her fingers along the fuller of her blade. It was still a little warm, but the strange enchantment had dissipated. What ever it was, Kua imagined it could be incredibly useful if she could control it.
"How much blood and flesh do you need? I do not fear for my body, but I do not want Jace to be upset with me."
The choice was still obvious, though it was an entirely different choice than before. Kua looked down at the pitiable creature before them. She must have been quite young when she had been turned. Keeping her alive was going to be difficult. Was she the sort of vampire who burned in the sun? Did she fear garlic? Was their even garlic in these lands? or some garlic like thing? Or were these lands so incredibly alien that the vampire would wind up fearing an entirely different vegetable? Could she be felled by a stray apple peel or fish bone? Or even a magic rock?
She could see why vampires weren't exactly popular pets. For something so dangerous they were surprisingly delicate.
What would she even be? Would she be a new companion? Or some kind of prisoner? Or would they only leave her with enough blood to survive for a few weeks and hope someone else has mercy on her? Or maybe...
"Maybe once you're able to make trueborn ichor, you can show other Faceless how to do it. And she can live among your people back home. Without her fangs, it will be hard for her to feed on innocent ones. She will depend on the Faceless to survive. But she will survive. It is strange, but perhaps the Faceless can one day be a refuge for vampires who no longer wish to live off of innocent lives."

"I will not need much, but it will hurt greatly." The Faceless said earnestly and bluntly. Travels Far drew it's blade and held onto Kua's arm, it quickly drew it across the top of the arm of it's companion, shearing off a layer of flesh much like how meat would be sliced from a roast. As pain seared, Travels Far would throw aside it's blade and remove a chunk of it's own flesh, spreading it across the would like a balm, a soft, unsettling, ruby red balm made of meat. Within the hollow now cavity formed in it's body it placed Kua's bloodied flesh and began to feed as the hole slowly sealed up. "That...flesh of mine, upon your wound, it will help you heal." The Faceless panted. "I will begin making Ichor like your own, though I will not be able to fight as I did." as it went to retrive it's blade it's steps were slightly less ordered, as if a great wave of fatigue had washed over it. "This process is long, hard. We Faceless would not do such things unless it was needed."
Travels Far looked back at the sleeping vampire. "And I can see, that it is needed."

Kua braced herself by letting her body relax. The slice was so clean and sudden that it barely had time to hurt. When the pain finally emerged, she halted her breath and grimaced. Her opposite hand hooked onto her bicep just above the wound. She panted, teary eyed. But through the tears shined a childlike curiosity and wonder as Travels Far applied his own flesh as a balm.
She felt pity, and guilt, as Travels Far began the process of breeding a new food source for their charge who had tried to kill her earlier.
She recalled that the Faceless, though powerful, were once a slave race. She didn't want to know what possible purpose such an ability would have served for some very evil masters. The fact that Travels Far was willing to do this meant so much more than a kind gesture. How could the Faceless ever think they didn't have souls?
Kua walked over to her companion and leaned against the nearest tree, still gripping her arm. The pain was more exhausting than punishing. She took deep breathes to try to restore some stamina. She gazed at the sleeping vampire as some words of wisdom dawned on her.
"Though many man's gifts spring from war, and death punctuates a long journey's page..."
She thought for a moment as she struggled to remember the rest.
"Love oft finds treasures not found before, and acts of kindness may herald a new age."
She turned to Travels Far and smiled. "My grandfather was more of a warrior than a poet, but, he tried."
