"I'm not sure if she is yet, but i would propose regardless," Asa said, got up and looked at the drawing, making a metal picture of it.
"Thank you." He sighed "I need to get stronger, I can't keep getting people hurt, Asadrack than reattached the blade to the handle, making sure that the small but resistant chain were tight, "I need to train more."
He looked at Jun, "You've been training a lot, maybe we could train together ?"

Roleplay posts: 305
Age: 33
Appearance: Jun stands at about 5’ 4”, with a willowy, slightly rectangular build. Her tawny olive skin has lost its flush from constantly wearing cloth armor, and she is dotted with small scars, including wrinkled patches of old burns on her left arm. She has deep brown, slightly hooded eyes and not quite straight dark auburn hair. Her face is still youthful and strong, though her gaze suggests she’s seen way too much for her age.
Equipment: An emerald, muddy long coat-style gambeson. A chrome blue longsword with a rusty hilt. Rusted shackles on her wrists ending in broken chains, giving a false impression that she had been a prisoner; the bracelets are easily removed.
Skills and Abilities: What remains of Jun’s power is a mix of animal friendship and elemental control. She can communicate with and control weaker animals, like insects, and request the help of larger, sentient animals (though they are not compelled to obey her). She can perform subtle manipulations of fire, water, earth, wind, and other “elements” like light and shadow. Her most unique ability is to imbue elemental magic into other life forms and channel her spells through them.
She is a decent cook and survivalist and has a solid academic understanding of agriculture and ecology. She is also a decent sword and hand-to-hand fighter.
Biography: Jun of the Celadine was a stereotypical hero of legend. She was one of Isra's mightiest spellcasters, had gone on dozens of adventures, possessed several powerful artifacts, and helped bring peace to the world on many occasions.
A notorious overachiever and workaholic, Jun had driven herself to near madness pursuing powerful magic. In standard fashion, it was the power of friendship that kept her sane.
Now Jun must cope with the fact that much of the world she helped protect has been lost, and that most of the magic power she had accrued over the years has stopped working.
Her family (whose whereabouts are unknown) was a clan of farmers and gardeners. Her tribe lived in peace and harmony in a mostly forested region. Every two hundred years or so, their people produced a powerful mage and master of all elements. Jun was not this chosen one, but rather her grandmother was. Still, Jun's (somewhat unhealthy) obsession with keeping up with her ancestor made her a pretty close second.
Jun has no regrets about her journey, though she sometimes wishes she had spent more learning other skills, like cooking and dancing. She also feels she made a poor lover, though it's likely her old partners passed away in the floodwaters anyways...

Jun grinned as she leaned forward and sat up. "That's actually what I came here to do, well, besides sobbing." She bent down to unsheath her longsword on the ground. The strange chrome blue finish briefly reflected the sunlight, creating a cloudy glare with a rainbow's edge. She was quite proud of it, as it had a unique backstory in itself. But then she thought about how much more useful a spear would have been in the forest.
"Do you know how to use one of these?" She held her longsword up to him. "And would you be able to teach a short ex-sorceress how to use one of those?" She pointed at the spear.

"I can't say I have used a sword before, no," Asa looked at his spear "I reckon I could teach you yes, you see, the advantage of a spear it's the reach but it's also it's disadvantage."
As got in and attack position but the tip of his spear were passed Jun, "If someone gets this close you're done." He than got back to his normal standing position "Fighting with a spear depends on you being able to keep a healthy distance from whoever you're fighting, and how fast you can back up when you feel like your adversary will be able to close the distance."

"I see. The longsword has sort of the opposite problem. It doesn't have good reach, and unlike a spear, it's not a particularly good throwing weapon. But, it excels at both defense and offense at close range."
Jun took a step to the side to give herself some space. Then she swung her sword above her head, paused, and brought it down to her side, then facing in front. She cycled through about five different stances. Then she did it again in rapid succession.
"The trick with the longsword is to know the basic stances and be able to flow in between them. Each stance lets you attack and guard in different ways. There's a funny misconception that two-handed weapons are heavy and slow. But most longswords don't weigh much, and using two arms gives you a lot of speed and finesse. It's actually a very good lady's weapon if you ever want to teach Tana." She winked.

Asa chuckled a bit "Spears are good throwing weapons big you have more than one, if you're hunting that's fine, if you hit the animal with well placed throw they'll die, but in a fight, if you miss, you're unarmed, there's a way to get around it though, if you're close enough, and if you hit by throwing in close range you might be able to grab I before your target falls."
Asa watched Jun, "how about we spar a little ? then we change weapons and do it again, then we can tell eachother what we did wrong and what we did right."

Jun grins. "You're probably gonna beat my ass." She bends down to put on her gambeson. "But then again if I'm afraid to fight you what am I gonna do against a moss auroch, right?"
Far from fearful, Jun seemed to have lost all her earlier melancholy and instead was downright giddy. Her fingers blazed across the straps of her gambeson until it was secured. She took a little strap hanging from the sword sheath and tied it over the hilt of her sword. To keep from hurting Asadrack by accident, she would fight with the sword still in its sheath. She was in a plow stance (the same stance she tried to use against the cow, to her side and angled up at a 45-degree angle) before they even came up with any rules.
"You're on. The first contact wins. No bloodshed. Let's try it a few times to get the hang of each other."

Asa once again detached the spear blade, the spear head had two edges and a metal part at the center connecting the sharp bits, under the edges for metal parts extended to wrap around the pole and a small chain that was used tho tight the spear head onto the handle, it was made that way to facilitate changing the pole if needed, the metal had a red colour bro it but it looked like it wasn't paint but a different type of metal all together.
"I wouldn't hurt you at all, so the no bloodshed rule is a must here Jun," the man said, Asa took a deep breath and his expression became a focused one, he separated his legs and got in a over the shoulder grip which reduced his reach but made defending easier and gave him the possibility of a throw with his spear.
Once they had started he would keep a bit of distance and wait for Jun to make the first move.

Jun started by timidly trying to get closer with her plow stance, in an attempt to bait Asadrack into aiming high. If it worked, she'd quickly swap to a higher guard, knocking the sword up and over her, and then try to rush into close and bop him on the head. As she moved in she'd swing the sword high to try to keep it above her and Asadrack off balance.
This tactic might work better because of Jun's relatively short stature.

Jun recoiled as soon as she was hit, making a harsh "nnt" sound. She took a step back to recenter herself and breathe.
I really need to get myself a spear.
"Ok, you win that one."
This time Jun hangs back with a similar stance, poking and prodding the tip of the spear with the tip of her blade, waiting for Asadrack to make the next move.

Asa had changed his grip on the spear, the tip was now pointing upwards as he held the other side near his weist, he tried baiting an attack by pretending to do one himself.
He would eventually do a real one trying to connect on the woman's body

Jun waited for Asadrack's real attack. As the tension between the two duelists built, she'd threaten to raised her guard again. When the attack came she'd deflect it to the side, grab the spear with her left arm, then rush in and poke him in the arm with her sword tip, one-handed.

As Asa saw the sword coming for his arm he tried backing up but it was too late "You got me !" It seemed that this sparing session was helping Asa's mood.
He backed up a bit and got in position, his eyes looking at Jun's, with a half smile on his face.
This time there were no fake attacks, he went for the chest but changed to target last second going for Jun's leg.

Jun chuckled but didn't answer. She went right back to work.
She was 2/3rds of a second into formulating a plan of attack when the spear attack came. She moved to parry but was caught off guard by the last second target switch.
"Aww." She playfully hopped on one leg, but she wasn't really injured.
This time Jun tried something a little odd. She grabbed the sword with one hand on the hilt and one hand on the fuller. Her half sword technique gave her a lot more speed and power for blocking and thrusting as she rushed in again, almost like a mini spear.

Asa let out a chuckle as Jun hopped in one leg but immediately got back in position.
The man stepped forward at the same time that Jun attacked him, he used the middle of the wooden pole to try to deflect the attack but instead he ended up guiding the sword to his shoulder.
"It seems like we're on a tie right now." The man had his usual smile as his mind was focused on the duel.
He once again had an over the shoulder grip but this time his knees were more bent, the tip of the spear was pointed down but a little to the side, the man was so still that a bird could confuse him for a statue, he waited.
