Appearance: Red hair, blue eyes and a big fluffy red tail, standing at 149 cm tall
Equipment: A ornate quiver with a red fox carved into it, a longbow and three small knives hiding behind the quiver
Skills and Abilities: An amazing shot with a bow and arrow, Red is also very nimble and fast and a really good climber, stealth
Biography: It was the dead of night, Red was sitting outside of a cave, inside more of her kind were sleeping, the dawn was coming and they would often hunt during the night, Red was still very young and knew nothing of the outside world
As she looked up to the sky she heard a weird noise coming from the trees ahead, she quickly went inside in a attempt to hide. She was curious, what could've been that noise ? Where did it came from ?
She dipped her head out the cave, looked around, her ears shifted as she was trying her best to hear any other noises, she heard a animal squeal, maybe a rabbit ?
She followed the sound to find a small rabbit stucked on a trap, almost dead, she circled the animal on all fours, sniffing it and the trap, she stopped, and tried messing with the trap, maybe she could open it and have a free rabbit for herself
The rabbit had stopped moving but Red wasn't even close to open the trap, that's when she heard the sound of a stick breaking, she turned her head and her eyes met with the eyes of a human, she froze for a second, he had a bow in one shoulder and an axe in the other.
She looked at him with her eyes wide open, that was her first time seeing a human, the man stepped forward, she stopped back
"It's okay, said the man, I'm not going to hurt you," said the man, stepping forward one more time
She was curious about the man but also cautious, the man slowly put his items on the ground and said "are you lost ?"
At first he didn't notice the tail or the ears, walking one more step forward and with the light slowly getting more brighter with a new day coming he realised she wasn't a human child but a vulx
"Are you..." Before he could complete his words Red took off running, the man stopped for a second, thought to himself, then quickly picked up his stuff and chased the girl
"Hey, wait, don't go that way, it's dangerous," he shouted as he ran after her
Red was running in a completely different direction than the cave she was outside of, she was fast, and the man couldn't keep up, but she fell as the same time as a clanking sound could been heard, with no clue to what just happened she looked ate her leg
She had been caught in a trap much similar to the one with the rabbit, the trap had metal bits that would quickly snap together much like a bear trap but it was smaller, although it didn't broke any of her bones, the trap still hurt a lot and she let out a sharp cry of pain
The man found her quickly, he approached her saying in a gentle voice "it's okay little one, i'm going to help you okay"
As he reached for the trap, Red scratched the man's arm, in response he tried to calm her down, and slowly reached for the trap again
"I can get you out of there, I'm going to help you" he said pressing on a small lever on the side of the trap and pulling it open
She quickly tried to get away but couldn't , the man slowly approached her speaking in a calm voice "if you let me carry you, I'll bring you to my cabin and I will heal you." He patted her on the head and them took her with him, once on the cabin he took a look at her ankle "you won be able to move for a while, but i'll take care of you." He pointed at himself "Anderson." He did that a couple of times then pointed at her but she didn't knew how to talk "well, i'll just call you Red then"
For the next few weeks he would treat her, feed her and make sure she was worm. Her, in the other hand seemed to mimick him and was learning fast but still wasn't able to talk.
Everything stayed the same for a while, there wasn't much for her to do but Anderson tried his best to teach her words and even showed her his books but with no success, he told her stories and shared his experiences, but after some time she was healed and he decided to take her back
Anderson was visibly upset about that, it was he's dream to have a family but wasn't able to have kids but the forest was her home. He took her to the spot where she found her, this time she came walking on both feet
"As promised, now that you're better I brought you home," he said
"N n n no" she said
"You can speak ?" He's eyes shot open
She pointed at herself and continued "o o o out a sider."
Although she was born with the others, she never felt like she belonged, there was some much to be learned and she had grown attached to the man

"you are very helpful Mr Tanneth," she said with her hands on her waist. As Tanneth mentioned being able to make salt she lifted her right eyebrow .
"Salt, you say, that would be great, I don't think we will find a pot anytime soon though, unless we find more people or make them ourselves, we are in a island after all."
After Tanneth was done gathering wood Red started arranging the sticks inside the rock circle, she looked to her left, where the dead animal layed down, "we should move it," she pointed to what was left of the deer, "It might attract carnivorous animals." Red walked to it, "Can you give me a hand please ?"

Tanneth smiled at the compliment. He looked at the trees and thought about it for a bit, "If I had some tools I could perhaps attempt making one from some wood. It wouldn't be as nice as the cast iron pots I was used to, but it should work well enough. Granted, I would need tools for that."
He stood up and arched backwards, stretching his body for a brief moment. He looked over to Red, when she mentioned moving the deer. This was true, they didn't want to attract whatever predator lurked on this island. He responded, "Of course, where are we moving it to? My thought is far enough where we can't see our camp."
He walked to where the deer was and hefted part of the carcass, ready for Red to tell him where it was to go.

"As far as we can." Red nodded multiple times, "we should be quick too, we don't want anything finding our food."
She grabbed the dead animal, assuming Tanneth had done the same, they would bring the carcass far enough into the woods
Upon returning Red used to longer sticks as legs "Once the fire is going and settled a bit I'll put another stick on these so we can smoke the meat, meanwhile we can cook some for us right away. Do you want to start the fire or should I ?"

Tanneth avoided looking at the carcass once they began carrying and when they set it down. He was a bit squeamish about it, although he did his best to hide it.
Tanneth nodded to her question and broke up some of the kindling into smaller bits. He struck the flint against his dagger, and sparks flew out onto the wood, after a few tries he was able to light the kindling. He gently blew into the sparks, and they soon burned faster reaching the larger sticks in the campfire, within seconds they had a warm fire. Tanneth replied, "I used to do this a lot at my house. Some days my...family member..." He paused for a moment before continuing, "was sick, and I needed to cook for her."
He walked over to the large stone where he had left his clothes to find that they were damp. He nodded and took the hide to the river to wash it. He pinned it under a rock to let it soak. Tanneth let out a sigh, looking at his work and pondered how long it might take for the deer skin to fully wash. This was extremely unorthodox compared to the method he had hear about in his travels. He walked back over to Red and sat by the fire. Tanneth spoke, "I believe I was going to tell you a poem at some point."

Red listed as Tanneth talked about a family member but chose to stay silent, something happened to him, she knew that of it came to, he would talk, for now they were still strangers to eachother
As Tanneth walked to the hide, Red checked the rocks around the fire, the rocks were getting hot so Red picked five pieces of meat and placed them on the rocks, making sure that the meat wasn't too close to the fire "how much do you want to eat mister ?" She said loudly as he put the hide on the water
When Tanneth had walked back she had put the quantity he had given her, her tail lift up and her eyes opened wide when she heard the word "poem," Red was clearly excited as she said "whenever you're ready," she put both hands together in front of her chest "I love a good poem"

Tanneth replied to the question of how much he wanted to eat, "Two of those pieces should be good enough for me."
He thought for a moment before smiling, "It's a poem describing my homeland.. lets see it starts off something like this."
To the shores by the sea I cast my lot to the lea Its meadows are many Golden like a royal's ring
Tis my home where I played Tis the land where my father was laid His stone by his head Facing the sun's setting red
It's here I met those hazel eyes And here I chose to rise To each morning arisen Was one given
Our youth walked away But we still played You were my daisy The gem of beauty
It is here we made A home in a glade...
Tanneth finished the poem and smiled, "I think that was one of my first poems." He reached for one of the pieces of meat that had started to brown, inspecting it before placing it back on the stone. "It was a personal one. I- I'll tell you that story another time."

Red patiently heard Tanneth's poem, she thought it was a very good one, she nodded, right hand on her chin as she expressed how much she liked it
Red was never actually looking at the meat, she new how close to be ready by the smell, she was a bit inpatient tho so she picked one piece and threw it into her mouth, it was undercooked but that wasn't a problem for her, she could eat it raw if she wanted but cooking it made the meat tastier.
"It's almost ready," she said, still chewing the meat, after eating a piece she asked Tanneth "for how long are you a poet mister ?"

Tanneth grinned seeing Red's response to his poem. It brought him some measure of joy that someone appreciated it. He brought both hands together and twiddled his thumbs for a moment. "I'm glad you enjoyed my poem."
He watched her wolf down a piece of meat and almost grabbed one himself, until she said it was almost ready. He pulled back his hand and patiently sat. He glanced at the sky for a moment and it was as if you could see the poet in him writing down lines of words of what the sky appeared like to him. Red asked him a question of how long he was a poet.
"Two years. I've been a wandering poet for two years. Before that I used to be farmer, but then an incident happened and I had no home there." He replied hastily grabbing a piece of meat and breaking it apart with his knife. It was a little pink on the inside, but it was fine for him. He slowly chewed on the venison and looked back at Red, focusing briefly on her ears before his eyes rested on her sapphire blue eyes. He certainly had questions on what she was, but at the moment it didn't matter. He didn't want to test his good fortunes in meeting her.

"Two years huh." Red's expression changed as she remembered her father "I also lost my home two years ago, my home was wherever father was, he adopted me, gave me books and this dress." She were using a light blue dress the went below her knees " he taught me how to use a bow, how to speak, read, cook." She continued before pickin up another piece of meat and eating it
"The last two years i spent hunting and selling meat, most people didn't mind me, but without father things were not the same."
She gave the man a wide smile "I don't remember that much before that, but I wasn't the same, obviously i'm not human, i only act as one, talk like one, father didn't cared, hopefully neither do you. I'll answer any questions you have as long as you tell me one more poem mister."

"You're brave." Tanneth compliments, "You're more open than me it seems."
"Another poem? I can think of at least one more..." Tanneth fell silent for a moment and lifted his head looking at the sky, "This one has no narrative tie to my past, but it's just as linked as the first one."
Dreams are things made of stardust Made from our hopes and trusts What man can tame his dreams What do his dreams gleam?
Alone dreams are unreachable Man makes them tangible They become like clay With such he plays
Dreams are things made of stardust Because they make all men dust Men become prey to their lusts Losing what they could trust
But my dear, keep me near We can make things clear Void of any lies Only built on our ties
Together we are one and we have won Our dreams from the war Something that all hope for...
Tanneth concludes his poem and looks at Red against, resting his gaze on her gem-like eyes, "If it's not that much trouble for you, I want to know what you are. As you've stated prior, you're not human. I understand that in my own land there are gnomes, dwarves, elves, and the such. But I have never known a kind like yours, and I will say that of the people I have met you are perhaps one of the most beautiful."

"Humans complicate things too much," she said, "those are all good memories, it pains me that his gone, but I promised him I'd be happy so there's no reason for me to hide it"
Red lightly clap after the poem was over, she started back at Tanneth "you flattered me Mr poet" she said "I'm a Vulx, my species normally live in places like this, we're neither human nor fox, I'd say we are somewhere in between, I'm different from most of other Vulx, most act more like a fox, some will never know how cooked meat tastes like, poor things, as I said my father taught me everything."
Her eyes lit up as he continued bro talk, her tail stood up, all the fur in her ears did the same "I act like a human but I'm not, i rather live in the woods and stalk my pray, on the ground or even in the trees, kinda like I did to you." She picked another piece of meat and ate it, she sniffed the air than pulled the rocks with meat away from the fire

Tanneth responded after she had finished talking, "A vulx? I haven't heard of those before. It has a nice ring to it. You're father clearly raised you well."
He reached for his second piece of meat and broke it into small chunks, "To be honest, I don't know if I should be perturbed by the fact you effectively stalked me in the woods, or thankful. I will say that how humans act was not human exclusive in my homeland, was it human-exclusive in your land to act like you are acting now?"
He bit into one of the smaller chunks of venison, chewing for a few moments before speaking again, "Sorry if I disturb you in any way, I am simply curious of you and your land."

The man's questions didn't seem to bother Red, she was curious by nature, maybe even more than other Vulx.
Red heard everything the man said and responded accordingly
"My father was awesome." She chuckled, "as for staking you, for me, at that time you were just a human that I caught the scent of, i'm curious but not naive, when i when jumped out of the bushes and you turned out to be hostile I would at least incapacitated you, I could smell the ale, also like my father, i am a hunter, although I knew about the other species through books, I've been experiencing the world for my self since father died, I've seen most creatures like goblins, gnomes and others, but nothing other than that, and finally there's nothing to be sorry for."
More perceptive people would notice that she seemed very exciting about 'experiencing the world for herself'. As she talked her tail was in a constant motion, going slowly from side to side, she was sitting down with the soles of her boots touching eachother, he right knee going up an down
After trying talking she would eat her last piece, "it's getting dark, mister poet, ." The sky had a orange glow and the light of the fire and the sunset made Red's hair almost shine, her pupils seemed to get more narrow as the light reduced, with a half smile on her lips as she said that, she looked at fire, "soon we should be able to smoke the meat without risking burning it."

Tanneth couldn't help but grin when he saw her tail dart from side to side. Yes she was human-like, but Tanneth doubted there could be a better example of the her fox-like nature. He nodded in agreement about the time of evening and her plan to smoke the remaining meat. He spoke, "I take it you're excited about seeing the world? Words of advice, stray away from boastful folk. They're all talk and no bite." He opened his left palm and extended two fingers, "Second; there is such a thing as people being too nice. These unsightly folk will try to gift favors from you, they'll act sweet and kind only for something they want." He extended a third finger, "Thirdly; people who talk about wanting to hurt others should not be trusted. Their anger will get the better of them."
He stood up and faced away, brushing the dirt off his trousers, "I think the rest of my ensemble should be dry by now. I'll be right back."
Tanneth walked to the large stone he had placed his clothes on and felt them to see if they were dry. They were. He grabbed them and quickly put on his shirt, leaving the others on the stone. He then took to the river to check on the deer skin. As expected, the crude recreation of the process he had heard about worked differently. He took the pelt from the river and placed it on an empty spot on the large stone to dry. He walked back to Red and said, "For the future, you can just call me Tanneth. I'm at most four years your elder. I don't want to see myself any older."
When Tanneth said 'I don't want to see myself any older' a cheeky smile took over his face. He looked at the remaining meat and asked, "When do we want to start the smoking process?"

"Thank you for the advice, but you don't need to worry, as i said, I'm not naive," Red said to Tanneth,
The Vulx had a had smile on her face as Tanneth went to pick his clothes, she hummed as he put them on and picked up the hide, she liked the man's company and thought she was lucky that he was a poet
She giggled as he mentioned the words 'i don't want to see myself any older.' she found funny that some humans worried a lot about age, "Tanneth, most Vulx don't live after fifity years old, five years more and I'll have live through half of my entire life, i should be the one worried about age here, if you put into consideration that some of you live a lot longer, I'm older, technically,"
Red looked at the fire after Tanneth asked about smoking the meat and said "We should be able to start smoking them now." She stood up, picked one of her arrows and made small holes in the meat, putting a stick them and hanging it above the fire, high enough that the meat wouldn't burn and in the morning all of it should be done. After she was done Red looked at Tanneth and gave him a big smile, both hands on her waist
