Here the mountains are as steep as the pines are thick. Snow litters the ridge every so often in summer, becoming a sea of white in colder months. The terrain is unforgiving, if beautiful, and the air thins remarkably the higher one goes.

Age: 19
Appearance: Red hair, blue eyes and a big fluffy red tail, standing at 149 cm tall
Equipment: A ornate quiver with a red fox carved into it, a longbow and three small knives hiding behind the quiver
Skills and Abilities: An amazing shot with a bow and arrow, Red is also very nimble and fast and a really good climber, stealth
Biography: It was the dead of night, Red was sitting outside of a cave, inside more of her kind were sleeping, the dawn was coming and they would often hunt during the night, Red was still very young and knew nothing of the outside world
As she looked up to the sky she heard a weird noise coming from the trees ahead, she quickly went inside in a attempt to hide. She was curious, what could've been that noise ? Where did it came from ?
She dipped her head out the cave, looked around, her ears shifted as she was trying her best to hear any other noises, she heard a animal squeal, maybe a rabbit ?
She followed the sound to find a small rabbit stucked on a trap, almost dead, she circled the animal on all fours, sniffing it and the trap, she stopped, and tried messing with the trap, maybe she could open it and have a free rabbit for herself
The rabbit had stopped moving but Red wasn't even close to open the trap, that's when she heard the sound of a stick breaking, she turned her head and her eyes met with the eyes of a human, she froze for a second, he had a bow in one shoulder and an axe in the other.
She looked at him with her eyes wide open, that was her first time seeing a human, the man stepped forward, she stopped back
"It's okay, said the man, I'm not going to hurt you," said the man, stepping forward one more time
She was curious about the man but also cautious, the man slowly put his items on the ground and said "are you lost ?"
At first he didn't notice the tail or the ears, walking one more step forward and with the light slowly getting more brighter with a new day coming he realised she wasn't a human child but a vulx
"Are you..." Before he could complete his words Red took off running, the man stopped for a second, thought to himself, then quickly picked up his stuff and chased the girl
"Hey, wait, don't go that way, it's dangerous," he shouted as he ran after her
Red was running in a completely different direction than the cave she was outside of, she was fast, and the man couldn't keep up, but she fell as the same time as a clanking sound could been heard, with no clue to what just happened she looked ate her leg
She had been caught in a trap much similar to the one with the rabbit, the trap had metal bits that would quickly snap together much like a bear trap but it was smaller, although it didn't broke any of her bones, the trap still hurt a lot and she let out a sharp cry of pain
The man found her quickly, he approached her saying in a gentle voice "it's okay little one, i'm going to help you okay"
As he reached for the trap, Red scratched the man's arm, in response he tried to calm her down, and slowly reached for the trap again
"I can get you out of there, I'm going to help you" he said pressing on a small lever on the side of the trap and pulling it open
She quickly tried to get away but couldn't , the man slowly approached her speaking in a calm voice "if you let me carry you, I'll bring you to my cabin and I will heal you." He patted her on the head and them took her with him, once on the cabin he took a look at her ankle "you won be able to move for a while, but i'll take care of you." He pointed at himself "Anderson." He did that a couple of times then pointed at her but she didn't knew how to talk "well, i'll just call you Red then"
For the next few weeks he would treat her, feed her and make sure she was worm. Her, in the other hand seemed to mimick him and was learning fast but still wasn't able to talk.
Everything stayed the same for a while, there wasn't much for her to do but Anderson tried his best to teach her words and even showed her his books but with no success, he told her stories and shared his experiences, but after some time she was healed and he decided to take her back
Anderson was visibly upset about that, it was he's dream to have a family but wasn't able to have kids but the forest was her home. He took her to the spot where she found her, this time she came walking on both feet
"As promised, now that you're better I brought you home," he said
"N n n no" she said
"You can speak ?" He's eyes shot open
She pointed at herself and continued "o o o out a sider."
Although she was born with the others, she never felt like she belonged, there was some much to be learned and she had grown attached to the man

Red had been walking for a few hours now, she went far from where she first reached land in search of water, the trees were tall but not as tall as the mountains around the woods she had entered a few minutes ago, the noises of nature filled the air, if it wasn't for her thirst she would enjoy all the little sounds of the new place she found
"If there is animals, there is water," she said confidentiality after finding three different animal tracks on the ground "maybe dear ?" She thought "all going the same way, I should follow, at least i can get food."
As she followed the tracks for a while, trying get their scent on the air, and got excited when she noticed that a different type of animal, that came from a different direction, this one smaller, went on the same way as the others
The air got more humid and the sound of running water filled her bright red ears, she took off in the direction of the noise and found a small steam of water that seemed to come from the direction of the mountains
Red took the bow and the quiver with her arrows from her back, placed them in the ground next to her and submerged her entire face under the water, drinking while her tail wagged, once she was satisfied, she catched the scent of someone
"A human ? A human ! This will be great... or terrible, ah well, cannot be worst than that hecking boat," she said out loud to herself as she remembered all the fish she had eaten than puked almost immediately because of the seat of the boat, she shrieked with the thought of having to ride another one of those things than started walking in the direction of whoever that was.

'...Where am I?' was Tanneth's first though as he bumbled against a trunk of tree. The flesh underneath his skull felt as if it was tearing itself in half and the poor sod gripped his face. He collapsed to his bottom and leaned against the tree. Static filled his brain and he could no more tell his left from right and his up from down.
'What happened...oh' The poet looked down at his soaked trousers, the faint scent of booze teased his dry nostrils. It still didn't answer where he was or how he even got here. 'Think! Think!' Nothing. He couldn't remember anything. Tanneth spat, the tinge of salt on the tip of his tongue. He sighed and stared at the surrounding landscapes. They were beautiful, nothing like the plains and meadows of his hometown. Maybe being lost wasn't the worst thing...
Tanneth forced himself up. His body stumbling upwards as he stood. Right now the only thing on his mind was a bath to rid the stench of ale and sea. He slowly wandered deeper into the forest. Honestly, he had no idea on where he was going, or even if there was a body of water near here. Tanneth reasoned that he must be near a saltwater body in some direction, where he did not know. Still the wanderer carried on, walking as forwards as he could.

Red moved quickly through the trees making almost no noise, the wind carried the smell of a human and ale, the Vulx haven't talked with people for a long time and she wondered what she would find
Once close, she got lower to the ground. Moving behind bushes, she saw a man sitting against a tree, she made no noise and watched as he got up and started walking
The man didn't seemed dangerous and he looked to be having a hungover. Red followed him for a few minutes, "is he walking randomly inside of a forest ?" She thought before jumping from behind her hiding spot, making as much noise as she could, and looking the man in the eyes, smirking at him
"Hello human," she said, circling around him "My name is Red." She stopped in front of him again "need help ?"

"Ah!" Tanneth cried out surprised when the vulx jumped out in front of him. He paused in fear before she spoke. Either it was the splitting headache he felt, or the lack of clarity he had, but the man was left aww-struck for a moment. She circled around him quickly, before introducing herself as 'Red' and asking if he needed help.
"I.... I'm Tanneth. Tanneth Woodburo," the man spoke, adverting his eyes from the vulx, "and to be completely honestly......"
Tanneth stared past the trees at a stray cloud, his cheeks slightly flushed red. He wiped his face with his hand, and with both hands patted the sides of his face. He spoke again, "I'm... I don't know. I would love your help." He took a long look at his soaking clothes and smelled the booze coming off of him, "I think... I think I need to clean myself of this booze."

Well Tanneth, I can call you Tanneth right ?" She said with a smile on her face that revealed her sharp teeth "luckily for you, i, Red Burnwood, know the location of a river and but than you have to help me catch some fishes, I threw up my lunch because of the freaking boat i was in," Her bright blue eyes staring at the man in front of her
Red tilted her head to the right, her tail slowly wagging from side to side, she got closer to the man, she was very curious, "how did he get here ? What is he doing here ? And most importantly, does he have any books with him ?" Were the thoughts inside her head
Assuming he would agree on the condition, she turned around "stay close, there's no path leading to it, also don't make too much noises, animals use that place to drink, we might be able to catch something bigger or run into something dangerous" she turned around and walked into the bushes she came out from, on her back, Tanneth would be able to see a long bow and many arrows with different coloured feathers "follow me," she said with enthusiasm

"Thank you. That's very kind of you, miss Red." Tanneth smiled and reached to tip his hat... it wasn't there. The man became wide-eyed quickly turned his head looking for his hat. It wasn't there. Red would likely get a laugh from this, as she would see a black leaver hat stuck to his back by the leather belt with a yellow feather sticking from the small brown band. It was a wide-brimmed hat, rounded and very much typical of someone from a country-side or meadows. He turned to face Red, "It appears I've lost my hat... typical of a drunk like me."
Due to all the chaos and his frantic behavior, the hat would be loosed and fall to the ground behind him. Luckily for Tanneth, the hat would make a small clattering sound as the hard brim hit an exposed stone, before resting on the ground. Tanneth looked behind him, seeing the yellow-feathered hat and let out an exhale of relief. He placed it on his head and responded, "I understand, I'll stay close to you and keep as quiet as I can."

A few minutes past as the walked through the woods, the sound of the nature filled the place as they were careful, Red stopped and make a signal for Tanneth to do the same, she crouched and got as close to the ground as she could "I can smell a dear." She liked her lips
In she moved towards a bush in front of them, he blue dress lower tip almost touching the ground "there they are, I knew that some animal would come here eventually," she whispered, slowly picking an arrow and reading her bow
The were three of them, most likely a family, they all turned their heads towards the two, in response, Red stood up and quickly fired her weapon, the thee dears started running but one fell dead in less than a second, an arrow was stuck through the animal side, straight into it heart
"Yay ! Once again I hit target," she said proudly to herself, her expression changed into a sad one for a few seconds, she shook her head and repeated a few times "need happy, need happy, neeeeed happy." She sighed and whispered "I'm trying dad." Depending on how much Tanneth paid attention to her he might be able to hear it
She quickly spun around, now back to the usual smile "do you have a knife with ya ? I can skin it with the tip of an arrow, while you wash yourself," Red pointed tho the river a few meters in front of them " but it might break" she concluded, leaning forwards with her hands and bow behind her back

Tanneth kept close to her, as if he was her own shadow. He crouched low, when she crouched low. It was nostalgic, to be in nature with another. It reminded him of Am- Tanneth shook his head and took to Red's right side behind the bush. He stared at the clear blue river. He couldn't help but think of the stanzas he would write if he had his old journal... all the poems he wrote lost. He watched as his companion stood and fire her bow. There was some utterance whispered under her breath Tanneth couldn't make out, or well if he could, he chose not to. They were companions by chance, it wasn't his-
Tanneth unsheathed his small dagger. He held in front of Red, so she could take it by the handle. He said simply, "If you don't mind, I'd like its skin."
Assuming she took the dagger, he would walk down stream until he reached a suitably large stone. Tanneth placed his things on the stone, choosing one small wooden comb from his linen bag. He waded into the river until the water reached his chest. Tanneth took his comb and brushed the water. After washing himself and his hair he would head back behind the large stone. Wearing just his grey slacks, he took the rest of this clothes and spread them across the rock to dry.

"yeah you can have it," she said picking up the dagger, as she walked to the dear the Vulx started whistling. Once near it, she took her arrows back and started skinning the animal, it would be obvious for anyone looking that she had done that before, after skinning the animal perfectly she rolled the skin, threw it on her shoulder and put next to Tanneth things "Here, tis all yours," she said before returning to the animal
She kneeled in front of it and started butchering the animal removing all the organs then started cutting the meat than turned the animal around and did the same, they would be fine for a few days with that much food
"I see you're done, would you mind finding some rocks so we can make a fire ? I need to smoke this and cook some for now." She gave him his dagger
Red than sniffed the man "much better." She didn't seemed to be bothered by the fact he was almost naked.
The small Vulx went to the water and washed her hands "well," she said "i get stuff to light a fire, ok."
She was excited, amd it was apparent, it had been a long time since she talked with people, and he seemed friendly
Before going to find wood and dry leaves of bird nests she asked him "you don't happen to have any books with you, do you ?"

Tanneth looked at the pelt, "Let me know when you're done cutting the animal up. I'll need my knife to prepare this."
He replied to Red's request, "Of course. Thanks for the dagger... I think I should be able to find some flint around here." He paused when Red sniffed him, and dryly joked, "Don't expect me to do the same. I shall now go and find some rocks."
Tanneth walked to the shore and inspected the rocks near the large stone he placed his things on. Many of them were smooth from the course of the river, still he grabbed as many as he could and began making a pile, about six feet from the stone. He laid them in a disorganized pile. He began moving further from the shore, grabbing larger rocks. Tanneth saw something amongst the stones and reached his hand into the hole.
"Ow!"
He lifted his hand to see a cut mark on his hand. Tanneth moved the rocks aside and saw a sharp stone, at first his eyes beamed then they dulled. It was an glassy black shard of obsidian. Tanneth tossed the rock away and looked among some other stones, maybe four feet from where he found the obsidian. He saw it, a bit of glassy grey flint buried in the stones. Tanneth moved them aside and grabbed it.
He turned back to Red, hearing her question about the books. He answered, "Well physically no. I fear I lost my book of poems. However, I keep all of my poems locked away in a book that can never be lost." He pointed at his skull and continued, "I want to use that animal skin to make parchment. So I can write them down."
He stood and brought the flint to where he had the rest of the rocks, "All we need is some firewood." He left a cheeky smile escape, "Gods, it's been forever since I've been with someone like this. The last time..." He stopped looking at the stone and stooped low now crouching. Tanneth murmured to himself, "Last time it was on the run from them."

It didn't took too much for her to cut the meat out of the animal, she was very experienced on skinning and gutting animals.
"Here's your dagger," she said, handing it back with its edge pointed towards her
"Ooh !" Red exclaimed as he told about his poems "maybe you can tell me some while we cook."
It didn't took long until he found a flint but he had cutted himself in the process, " are you okay ?" she asked
Tanneth talked about fire wood an she made an observation "well, we are in the middle of the woods." She smiled at him "just give me a second to make a circle with some of these rocks you gathered, we don't want fire to spread once we light the fire."
For a few seconds she placed the rocks in a small circle neatly, making small adjustments to the ones that didn't line up properly
"Shall we look for wood ?"

"I'd would love to. I'm remembering the first one I wrote. It's about my homeland, a happy and sad story." Tanneth replied, he looked at the shore, "the rocks will do their job, I'm not too worried given the sand."
He wiped the blood off his hand using his trousers and quietly hummed himself, the words rolls back and forth in his mind. This poem was only sad within the context of a later poem, its words sweet like a beautiful wild flower, but like that flower it was short-lived. Tanneth pressed his foot into the sand and looked back at Red, she had just asked him if he was 'ok'. Tanneth smiled and said, "I am fine, this cut will heal so as long I don't bother it. Granted if I'm unlucky I'll have an infection, but I can clean it later. The sooner we have food the better."
Tanneth watched her set the rocks into a neat circle and stated, "Looks good to me."
When she asked about them searching for wood, Tanneth's eyes darted to the forest, "Yes, there's safety in numbers, lets stay together." He walked to the edge of the forest and pondered, "Let's grab some light chaff and small sticks so the fire starts quicker, dry leaves would also work just perfectly. We can place the bigger sticks under that and that should be enough for the night, if it so chooses to encroach upon us."

Red seemed excited to hear about Tanneth's poems, one thing she enjoyed a lot during her life was books and poems and it appears that she found a poet inside the woods "that's lucky," she thought to herself
She wasn't too much worried about the cut, it seemed it wasn't deep enough to bring any concerns
"I would be fine going in the woods by myself, I was born in a place like this." Her tail slowly wagging from side to side "But I was planning on going alone mister, company is aways good."
She followed him closer to the trees "we will also need longer sticks so we can smoke the meat throughout the night." She looked up to the sky to see the sun's position "we should still have a few hours, we should also cook some of the meat, smoking it will take sometime, since it preserves it we will need to do it, but i'm also hungry now," she motioned to the woods as to say to Tanneth to go in "I'll be behind you, okay ?" She said with a sweet smile on her face that revealed her fangs

Tanneth nodded, his round ears almost perking up when she revealed her plans to go alone. He waved his hand, "I believe you, but I also fear the unknown and I don't trust this place yet. That being made known, I also am glad that my company is welcomed." The man smiled and looked back at Red, gazing briefly at her eyes, "We bed long sticks as well? I'll fetch some strong ones for you then..."
Tanneth paused in front of a tree and bent low grabbing what dry sticks he could from it, "This should make for good kindling..."
He listened to how she wanted to preserve the meat and smiled, "Smoked? Sounds good to me. Once we get something like a pot, I can make some salt from the sea water and we could season it with that."
Tanneth grabbed a few more sticks, choosing what he thought would suit their purposes the best. He heard her say something about being behind him. He smiled, "Great! Then I'll lead the way."
Tanneth kept to the edge of the woods, grabbing only the dry sticks in reach. He would occasionally stop once his arms were full and walk back to the make-shift fire pit and place them next to it. He ran back to Red and looked for some long sturdy sticks that would help her with the smoking process. He stopped at a young tree and considered his options, before taking his dagger and cutting it at the base. "This should do."
