Appearance: An aged man with a long beard and dark skin. He wears his resting serious expression as well as dresses himself in fine clothes, reflecting an all-too-serious regard in which he considers himself. A mid-sized turban rests upon his head.
Equipment: At all times keeps with him a saber and a dagger with a secret compartment for a poison vial in the hilt. This dagger he keeps concealed under much of his baggy clothing. He also carries with him, when no servant is able to carry it for him, a bag of scrolls and ink, with which he uses to draw up designs.
Skills and Abilities: Paşka is a man of notable intellect, having spent his years poured into the observance of ships and their construction and their impact on trade and study of logistics. His interest in this structural engineering has also led him to become interested in the design and construction of structures and some engineering.
Biography: Selim Paşka was born to succeed his father's seat as Tamilşe Bey, however, his brother seized the throne when his fatehr passed and threw the beylik into chaos. Selim, not wanting to inherit a disaster, simply gave up on it and moved to study with ambition that perhaps he could later carve out a new realm for his own, studying emerging maritime technology as a means to understand the world, and in turn, conquer his own slice of it.

After several loads of cargo had been deposited on the beaches, the crews begin to pull it inland. As the crews begin moving it ahead, the sibling foremen, Jeŋiş and Tumara Anarbaev begin to explore the nearest immediate area with three members of the Tak Jol. Aidana recognizes this as the first designated landed survey team. They're talking the time to talk and point out locations in the immediate area, and the Tak Jol are talking more time to listen to and take note of the instructions given.
As they do, more members of the patrol also show up, awaiting briefings from the three senior members who made it there first.

Age: 19
Appearance: Her dark curly hair might seem wild, but there is a method to the madness. Every strand is carefully considered. The same can be applied to her attire, which rigidly follows the Beylik standards of beauty and propriety, while also allowing her own identity to shine through.
Equipment: Well, a lady carries her adornments. Everything else she might need is locked away in her private domiciles or carried by the male (or the male servant).
Skills and Abilities: Talking with proper manners, deep interest in sciences and mathematics.
Biography: Raised as the oldest child of a prestigious Beylik family, she was taught table manners, curtsies, music, poetry. Yet in her free time, she could not stop devouring book after book from her father's study on subjects unrelated to her expected future. Yet, upon discussions with some of the family friends, it was apparent that Aidana was more suited to academic pursuits than marriage, so after some difficult conversations, her parents gave way. When the world flooded, her studies were violently halted, but her research was just beginning.

Aidana engaged the men, striding towards them (with better shoes than what she landed with, sort of moccasins that just glided on the sand) from her last project, her body electric and ready for more work.
She offered a quick salute, hasty pleasantries, then prodded them for their findings. "How are we looking?" She asked. "What resources are we good on? Any unkowns?" Then, after a moments thought, when she remembered what Ehran had said: "Did you find proper wood for our totems?"
Totems were not necessary for their survival, but she knew if the people were denied the practice for too long they'd grow restless. The colony was only just beginning, it was probably better to feed the new hope than let that turn into a bitter uncertainty.

She raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Well, let's hear it then." Unusual of him to ask, but the least she could do was hear the man out. Nurzat follows Aidana to the grounds where the crew was standing, and talks to her on the way as he steps over small brushes and bushes, some of which had already been chopped or trampled down, some branches also cast aside into piles to be sorted. He addresses her in Tamilşic, worry creeping into his voice as he spoke, "My wife. See that firstly she is well looked after. And furthermore, should my condition worsen and I near the final threshold, should my wife wish to be with me, do not deny her as long as she understands the risks." "Do I have your word?" he asks, extending an open and sideways-facing palm and forearm.

"Good to see you, Uruusunun Enesi!" she greets her, bowing still a ways off. Jeŋiş smiles and bows simply in return. The Tak Jol, now fully gathered, also bow. Tumara speaks first, in Tamilşic, "Our surroundings—these sparse trees and light grasses—lend to good temporary housing, be it reinforced tents, or other light lodgings. We are coordinating now with Verdant to begin searching the surrounding area for evidence of what predators lie in the area before our herd animals can be released." Jeŋiş then chimes in as soon as Tumara runs out of breath, "…And to survey for nearest and easiest access to potable water, in addition to clearing a path, which Verdant will oversee." "As for the wood here," Tumara continues to explain in Jeŋiş's place, "Our carpenters are going to cut down some of the trees here to tell if they are hardwood or softwood. Nevertheless, none yet seem to be worthy of a proper totem."

"Do I have your word?" he asks, extending an open and sideways-facing palm and forearm. Aidana listened, head slightly ascance as Nuzrat made his request. She sighed. “I doubt you are in danger. The rat- Romsca is filthy, but shows no signs of plagues or pestilences. Her vision is clear and her speech witty and fast. I would release her this moment but I don’t want rumors spreading about her among our people.” Aidana extended her hand past Nurzat’s hand, gripped his wrist tightly and looked the man in the eye. “To the name of Quesar I swear she will be provided for from my own wealth, and will visit you if something comes to pass. And now that we have shaken hands, I must quarantine myself as well.” She smiled slightly as she withdrew her hand. “I’m looking forward to our time together.” Aidana swivels, assessing the quality of the wood being brought from close to the treeline. “None of these species will grow to the proper size to make a totem, or any sort of long-lasting structures.“ Unless we find some really wild mutants nearby, she thought, then shuddered. If the trees here could grow and straighten out like that it would be just as easy for them to grow feet. Or teeth. “It’s the soil and the climate, but-” Her face lifted as she looked up, high beyond the treeline. ”That mountain range in the northeast? I bet if we got in it’s shadow that would be a different story. Soil nurtured by the coursing river, and trees that need to reach high for sunlight… I couldn’t think of a more ideal place, could you?” She grew ponderous. “Predators will be a problem, though. We’ll need to assemble a team of specialists. This warrants more discussion. I’ll consult Ehran. Other than that, it sounds like we have all we need. Is there more I should know about?”

A number of the teams assembled appear uneasily at the assessment, and Meerim Musaeva, captain of the Verdant Path speaks up, “Not necessarily, Enesi Kartal,” She points in the direction of the river, and shields her eyes with her other arm, “We have reason to suspect that tress closer to the river in general may prove to yield better wood, since they are likely to have better supply to water year round,” She blinks, as her eyes adjust back on Aidana, “While it is highly likely that the foothills also yield excellent lumber, it may not be necessary to go that far. Our provisions are being gathered now by the landing crews and we are set to depart within the hour.” “As for predators,” Jeŋiş cuts in, “Verdant is highly competent at discouraging and dispatching predators in addition to biological analysis.”

"I still think we need to bulk up our offensive capabilities. Predators is one thing, but remember we followed another ship to get here. Of their goals, and of their need for land, we know little. Just... be on your toes."

"I'm glad. You're dismissed. Go show our new friend some hospitality." Nurzat bows and begins walking away toward the quarantine tent, "Come with me, Romsca," he says in common. As they reach the outside, Romsca notices that Nurzat seems nearly obsessed with inspecting the outside of the tent, looking along its threshold for over a minute. Upon finding nothing, he sighs heavily and walks in. The teams glance over at Nurzat as he makes his remark, some eyes remaining fixed on the man as Aidana speaks, leaving Nurzat looking physically uncomfortable by uttering a blunder in the presence of a handful of citizens. Landlabor will soon get to work sampling these woods for quality. As soon as off-loading is done, also, the guard will be posted and begin setting up camps, perimeters.”
