- The goal of this site is to tell a collaborative narrative and provide a space for roleplay that fosters creativity and a fun environment. This does not mean dark themes, horror, violence, etc. are off the table, but content that would make other members feel unsafe, unwelcome, or ‘gross’ will not be tolerated
- Implied sex, vague descriptions, heavy implications, and suggestive wording are all permitted. Graphic sexual descriptions, pornography, and erotica are not permitted. If content is suited for a porn website, adult pay-per-view channel, or erotic fiction website then it's not okay.
- Excessively gory content includes graphic descriptions of blood and viscera, body horror, torture, and so on. Violence and depictions of it are allowed, but there is a line between describing a combat scene or a battle wound, and lurid gore descriptions or atrocities for shock value.
- ‘Targeted malice’ can be summed as purposefully using slurs, both real or fantastical against players or their characters, attacks against a player or their character for their sexual orientation, religion, gender identity, or other demographic factors, or racism against a writer for their own race or ethnicity. This is not a comprehensive list, but provides the basic groundwork for what we consider targeted malice.
- The general rule of thumb: if you are seeking to get a rise out of someone by using hurtful words, phrases, idioms, or metaphors, you are probably engaging in targeted malice.
- There is a fine line to walk in bringing racism, oppression, sexual violence into your writings. These hardships exist in real life, as well as in countless fictional stories we have all read. To put a blanket ban on these topics would be limiting to creativity and exploring these themes in a tasteful manner that is respectful to the seriousness of the content. There is a difference between having a scene where darker themes play a part, and writing offensive material for the sake of being edgy, grimdark, adding unnecessary ‘drama’ into a scene, or showing off your personal bigotry.
- If you intend to start writing about potentially objectionable content, obtain consent from others in the scene first. Additionally, at the top of a post containing potentially objectionable content, post a warning broadly describing the type of content in the post.
- As always, if your writing partners in a given scene are okay with it, you are generally good to go. Be aware that boundaries can change, what someone might be comfortable in one area may change later. Respect the wishes of others.
