“That you do,” Naoki agrees. “After we eat, we can start planning what sort of kitchen you’d like to have, and what sort of luxury delicacies should be prioritized. It will be difficult here at the beginning, but only so that we truly appreciate what we have once we have it. … Or something like that.” Naoki shrugs. “You can rationalize it how you’d like.”
“You’re dressed for an occasion, Naoki again agrees. “You’ll probably want to swap the coat for an apron when you cook, but…” Trailing off, Naoki gestures. She doesn’t have any aprons in her wardrobe.
“In any case, come,” she beckons, “I look forward to seeing what you can create.” And Naoki’s stomach rumbles in agreement.

The trip back to Naoki’s Tent from Katiana’s Cabin isn’t so far and doesn’t take very long. Naoki isn’t literally pulling Alden by the ear, but her demeanor isn’t very different than if she were, shooting him glances and looking to see that he’s still following her. He’s slipped off once already and tried to do so a second time, she’s making it quite clear now that she’d prefer he not.
Upon arriving, she ushers Alden in, points to a chair for him, closes the flap, and takes a seat herself. Crossing her arms over her chest, Naoki leans back, crosses her ankles, and fixes Alden with a look. She’s quiet for a long moment before asking, “Now, what’s gotten into you, hm?”

Age: 53(?)
Appearance: The reference image is a commissioned piece and is accurate.
Alden is 6 even, with shoulder-length messy black hair, and several days worth of beard stubble. He is handsome, with a powerful jaw, mid-set cheekbones, and a perpetual grin that makes him seem younger than he really is. His bright green eyes, constantly sparkle with barely contained mirth. He has the lithe well-muscled body of a swordsman, and he moves with considerable grace and dexterity.
If one were to do a more thorough examination of Alden's eyes they may notice a further detail. Around the outside edge of his iris, there's an intricate series of minuscule grey runes.
Underneath his shirt, Alden's skin is a mass of scar tissue. Starting from just below his neckline, there is very little space that does not sport some relic of a past injury. A particularly observant person may also note that among these scars, some are a bright scarlet. These scarlet scars form an intricate series of runes hiding amidst the rest of the scars.
-------------------------------------------
Equipment: Alden's general loadout when he goes fighting consists of the following:
A twin set of enchanted shortswords. The simple straight blades are unnatural dark, absorbing rather than reflecting light. Giving the enchanted steel an appearance closer to cold iron. The guard has the Isran sun emblem emblazoned in a medallion shape just above the guard, which is wrapped in simple leather. The enchantments increase their sharpness and durability, as well as being able to ignite the blood of anything that he has pierced with either blade.
Numerous braces and hidden throwing knives all over his body. At one point, these were also enchanted but when the calamity struck he didn't have time to grab his original set. So these are all well-made but ultimately mundane weapons. Still, with his strength and skill, they can be quite deadly.
Unfortunately, at present, he is also missing his armour. His preferred armour is leather dyed in mottled black and greys, with strike plates sewn between layers for added protection. His old set was also enchanted for increased protection from physical and magical attacks.
-------------------------------------------
Skills and Abilities: Alden is, for lack of a better term, a weapon master. He has been trained to use almost any weapon you can think to name. Relentless daily training with each, with extraordinarily demanding expectations on performance and harsh incentives for failure giving a level of skill with most of them that make him formidable.
However, his preferred style involves twin short swords. While he is skilled with all of his weapons thanks to training, he discovered a natural talent with the blade. His level of skill when wielding his short swords is on another level entirely, nearly transcendent in his skill.
On top of that, he is a living magical enchantment. Carved into his body are a variety of runes that grant him numerous innate abilities. He is inhumanly strong, around three to four times stronger than a man in a similar state of physical fitness would be. This also applies to his endurance, speed, reflexes, and other physical traits. He also has regenerative abilities exceeding human normal, able to heal from even broken bones in a matter of days rather than weeks.
In addition, he is immune to most poisons and resistant to the rest. The runes etched into his eyes ensure he can see the same no matter the level of light and reveal magical auras to him. Runes along his back make him impossible to scry on directly and provide him a measure of resistance to magical attack. This, combined with training, also makes him immune to magical mental influence. Finally, runes on his feet dampen any sound he might make taking his already considerable stealth abilities to another level entirely.
Speaking of his training also included all of the skills one would think an Assassin should have. He knows how to mix poisons, move without being seen or making noise, scale walls, lie or disguise himself, pick locks, pick pockets, just for starters. He is also quite skilled at clerical work and he has some diplomacy ability after thirty years leading the Sun Marshals.
Beyond all of this, Alden also possesses an incredible amount of willpower. If Alden decides that he will do something, there is very little that can stop him from doing it. In fact, at present, the only thing that could deter him from a course of action is Captain Naoki. The former Empress is the only person he has any loyalty to and he often values her judgement on matters above his own.
-------------------------------------------
Biography: Alden was born to a small farming family in an out-of-the-way village. His parents named him Toan and until he was five his destiny was most likely to live and die on the same farm he was born. However, that all changed when Pride arrived.
The leader of a criminal group known as The Set, Pride offered his parents a sum of money that would make any poor farmer's heart stop. Enough money to change their lives forever and all he wanted was Alden, one of nearly a dozen children. A child that wasn't even old enough to help with chores around the farm yet. And the man as so nice, he wanted a ward that he could train to be a retainer how bad of a life could that be?
The answer to that question was basically Hell. Pride was a potent alchemist, enchanter, and scholar and he had but one goal in mind. To create a superior warrior. Alden was subjected to hellish daily training along with six other children. Forced to learn to fight with every weapon, against any foe, in any condition. His limbs were broken deliberately and he was forced to continue to fight and train in constant agony. And this was among the mildest of the ways he was trained.
The culmination of the training came when he was twelve. When he and the six other children were locked in a room and told that the only one who got to leave... was the only one to survive. Of course, surviving was hardly a reward.
Once Pride had only the strongest of the children left he proceeded to the next step of his plan. Alden's memories and identity were seared away as Pride carved runes into his flesh and his very soul. Transforming the young man into a living magical artifact and keeping him on a drug that suppressed all of his emotions.
From there Alden became the new Wrath of the set, a weapon meant only to slay those he was told to. That may have been all he would be but Pride made a miscalculation, Alden's runes helped him to build an immunity to the dosage meant to keep his emotions in check, a weakness made worse by Pride having let him keep his anger thinking it would make him a better weapon. Eventually, events conspired and Alden snapped when the only member of The Set to be kind to him, Sloth, was killed for threatening to expose Pride.
Alden, driven into a deeper rage than ever before killed Envy, Lust, Gluttony, and even disembowelled Pride. Greed manage to escape and Alden slaughtered everything in his path trying to catch the man. Eventually succeeding in his goal. Bereft of a target for his rage and the chase having left him in the middle of nowhere Alden finally collapsed the trauma and coming off of the dosage causing him to bury most of his memories.
He wound up in Isra where his talents and skill soon earned him the eye of the then, criminal Madam Naoki. She recruited him as one of her enforcers a role he continued as her power expanded and grew until she finally became Empress. His reward for his loyalty? Appointment to the head of The Sun Marshals her special police force, effectively making him her right-hand man.
During this time he also uncovered his own past and learned that Pride had survived, the man had made preparations for such an eventuality and his death only saw his soul moving to a phylactery as he became a lich.
Pride created a new Set, this time making each member just as he made Alden. Eventually, this culminated in Pride attacking Isra and his eventual, final defeat.
Decades have passed since that time and Alden, whose power kept him at his prime for years continued to serve Isra until the new calamity took him to The Island of Mists, his empress reduced to a captain and he now serving as her first mate.

Honestly, Naoki's fears were not entirely unwarranted. Alden knew what was coming and he found he wasn't looking forward to it. He'd spent the time since the feast wrapped up in his own thoughts and having to explain them was... Not going to be pleasant or easy. Still, he actually did enjoy the obvious concern she was showing for him. It was nice to be cared about even if he wasn't handling himself particularly well. Besides, there was a level of humour in the lady of the settlement needing to watch her own bodyguard like a hawk that he could see.
Slipping inside of their tent and away from curious eyes. There had been a few of those since the most important person in the settlement was always going to draw attention, of course, that person being followed by her still shirtless bodyguard only helped in getting people to stare. Anyway, Alden settles down in the indicated chair and waits for the inevitable question which is delivered in quite the Naoki fashion, limbs crossed, gaze intent, her body language demanding an answer to her question which she'd punctuated in a way that made him feel she felt she was owed an answer. Of course, if anyone Argentum had the right to demand an answer from him it was her so...
"I do not know that anything has gotten into me. More, recent events have left me realizing that there is quite a lot wrong with me."
As far as answers went it was... sufficient. Lacking in finer details and he doubted she would be satisfied with just that but... Letting out a sigh his posture shifts. When Alden had first sat down it was as he typically did, with good posture ready to spring from his chair at a moment's notice. Now though? He sags in his chair, sinking into it deeply, his eyes looking at some spot in the middle distance the weight of years showing in them. He looked... tired, exhausted even. Which... had she ever seen him look like that before?
"I'm not sure that I can explain it simply. The best way I can think to put it is... When we first met I was a broken man and over time, with your help and the help of others, I was improving but... it's become clear that I still have a long way to go. Or that perhaps I simply can't be fixed. I do not know."
Which he felt was only slightly less vague than his first statement but he was struggling. He didn't know that he could explain it all simply and easily, but he also didn't want to just ramble off a list of his perceived problems to her. It felt... wrong somehow. She had an entire settlement recovering from the greatest tragedy most of them had ever known to tend to. It was selfish of him to take her time just to explain to her that he felt... Useless, dangerous, disconnected... Wrong. Like he wasn't really human in any sense of the word except the most literal.

Naoki listens, ears forward, and nods once, acknowledging. Then he sighs, and sags, and Naoki’s left feeling as though she’s come off too harsh on him. She knows it’s not her that’s weighing on him, but something definitely is, he’s not in a good way.
“Well, that’s an understandable way for you to feel,” Naoki supposes. She considers her words before continuing, “I don’t think it’s right to say you’re broken, though. (And forgive me for cutting directly to the point, but you’ve been moping around long enough.) … You’re just lacking most everything that usually makes people feel fulfilled. You’ve got two friends in the settlement, you have no steady responsibilities, no particular routine. You’ve no family, no children, no hobbies, and as far as I know, nothing you’re proud of. When you ask healthy people what makes them happy, they’ll usually mention some combination of those, but you’ve got none.”
“It’s just sort of, you. Milling around, doing whatever you do during the day.” Naoki gestures vaguely with her hands. “If you felt at ease with yourself the way things are now, maybe you would actually be broken — and maybe you were like that at one point, but the fact that you don’t feel content now means the important parts are working, I think.”
With this said, Naoki shrugs. The trouble with Alden isn’t difficult for her to pin down or articulate. Perhaps it’s presumptuous of her to assume she knows what all is going on with him, but it’s also not a very difficult read. Anyone who knows what all is going on with him ought to be able to draw the same conclusion, it’s just that at this point that list is limited to essentially the two of them.
“And the fix is for you to get some or all of those things,” she continues. “Which is easier said than done, perhaps, but not by a whole lot, not for you. Not if you commit to it and give it your all.”

There is little surprise for Alden when Naoki so quickly cuts to the heart of things. He'd watched her play political games for years and he'd seen first hand how keen her insight was. It was perhaps one of her most potent skills and he admired how she often chose to use it. He could recognize that he didn't know the full of what she did day to day, that other people might see her in a different light than he did but... He'd only ever seen her use her insight to help those she considered her people. To him, that dedication to taking care of her own was at the core of who she was and it was why he was, in turn, dedicated to her protection.
"I think you are right."
Alden inclines his head in acknowledgement. After all, he'd come to a similar conclusion not so long ago when talking to Katiana on the beach, remembering his old friend Kauri.
"The times I have felt most at ease in the days since the feast have been when I have been helping people or the colony."
Helping Chamvert get settled in his new role and signing on Sylvanie to help the foresters standing out in particular.
"Though it is hard to get people to let me help them. Especially lately."
Most had already been intimidated by his reputation already, the events at the feast had made them even wearier. Reaching up he rubs at his face, that was another kettle of worms entirely. They had something of a potential treatment for what plagued him on a personal level but there were larger issues than that at play. Of course, they bleed into other personal issues as he'd learned that his life was essentially a knot of interconnected issues.
"I... There is quite a lot within that single event and it brought several things to light that have also been troubling me. It felt... offensive after I slapped Nina to look out in a crowd and see such open disgust. I feel like I have... done much for Isra over the years. As the saying goes, I've shed blood and sweat for these people and... Well, I can recognize that my loss of control was startling it wasn't pleasant to realize how little what I've done meant to so many."
Reaching up he rubs at his face.
"Though how that made me feel in turn... Maybe they were right to look that way at me. I have the feeling my other concern is the sort you would tell me is silly or incorrect, I'll explain it if you wish but I think it might be best done in a story. The story of where I got the name Alden from... But..."
Shrugging his shoulders he knew that she would be quick to reassure him on this matter but it was something he was genuinely worried about. But... there was already a sense of guilt growing in him over taking up so much of Naoki's time. While she'd never given him any indication that was an issue it remained hard to shake the sense that Lady Naoki's time was better spent tending to the needs of her people and not the emotional turmoil of a single man.

Naoki listens, ears forward. It’s easy to tell that there’s a lot going on that’s not making it all the way to the spoken word, but she’s following.
“Also keep in mind that a lot of them would look at me the same way if I slapped a girl — this isn’t the Isra either of us knew, and the sort of work you’re known for brings more respect than adoration.”
Naoki looks at Alden and waits a moment for him to continue before realizing he’s not. “But what? Let’s hear it.”

Looking up when she asks for the story Alden offers a grateful smile. The man closes his eyes and shakes his head saying with a soft laugh.
"But, I worry about things I likely shouldn't sometimes."
Of course, there was a chance that is what she would tell him when she finished his story. The distance between himself and the event had lead to him being able to, mostly, talk himself down from this worry. Yet it persisted and niggled at the back of his mind because he knew some traumas could linger for years and express themselves in... unexpected ways.
"Give me a moment to prepare and I will do as the Lady asks and tell my story."
Taking a breath he composes his thoughts. The question of where to start this tale is considered. If he was telling it to a stranger he would have to explain quite a bit about himself for them to end with a full understanding. But this was no stranger and he trusted Naoki's memory better than his own at times. So he decides to simply stick to the relevant parts to the worry he is trying to illuminate.
"During my time in Lo'kan I was under the care of Sloth, I don't know that I've told you much about her. From what I was able to learn she was a healer of some great talent who had to flee her homeland. She did so with Pride's help and agreed to repay him by tending to me between jobs."
Alden pauses for a breath and to recollect, the memories from that time were still a bit hazy. Much of what he'd done under the dosage felt distant, removed. When he was on it at times he'd felt like a passenger in his own body and his memories often reflected that feeling.
"She was... not supposed to talk to me I think. She was just to make sure there were no abnormalities with my body, that I ate my meals, and that I was ready when Pride came to take me for my daily training or the next job. She didn't say much at first but she lived alone and was prone to talking to herself. I think that's how it started, first she was talking to herself while I was in the room, then she was talking at me, then she was trying to talk to me. Not that I was much of a talker back then, I don't think I said much unless asked a direct question. But she talked quite a bit about herself and her life, many stories that I wish I could recall with more clarity."
Snippets of stories of a fantastical sounding land blanketed in a thick layer of mist. A society clad in cloaks and masks, working under mighty guilds in great games of intrigued and danger. Of her meeting the wrong sort of man, the sort not to accept a polite refusal from a pretty young healer... It was hard to remember most of it but he remembered feeling sorry for her, losing everything due to one man's arrogance and self-importance.
"I remember she was kind. I had a broken leg once and Pride told her not to tend to it, she did anyway. She would sneak me the occasional treat, just a small piece of hard candy from time to time though I know I was only supposed to eat certain foods. And she was always talking about the other villagers when she wasn't speaking of her homeland, she seemed to enjoy being able to see people's faces and never had an unkind word to say of any of them."
Thankfully, those stories were even harder to remember than her stories of her homeland. Likely because they were mundane in comparison.
"She was the one who gave me the name Alden. She asked for mine once and I told her it was Wrath, she told me that wasn't a name and... I remember her looking away for a moment a sad look in her eyes before she smiled and told me that my name could be Alden. It would just be a secret between me and her..."
Which he hadn't understood what she was talking about at the time, Wrath had been all the identity he'd had. Still, he'd let her call him the name since he had no reason not to.
"I don't know exactly what happened. I was in my room when I heard the rest of The Set arrive, I only heard the end of the conversation Sloth's last words, he is more than just a weapon. Shouted loud enough that I could hear it from my room... then silence, Pride came to fetch me and on the way out... I saw her."
This was the hard part, the part he hadn't wanted to discuss. The root of the thing he was truly worried about.
"Pride noticed that I stopped and he said... Wrath, stop staring and come. I didn't move though, I couldn't stop staring and then he said... Wrath, what is wrong with you? I told you to come. He started to approach me and I looked him in the eyes he didn't wear a mask then but I can't remember his face... Wrath, stop wasting our time we have to go. Pride grabbed my arm and I spoke to him, I told him that my name was Alden. Then I stabbed him in the stomach."
There is a moment of silence, Alden staring down at the floor trying to articulate his next thoughts.
"I had a single moment of clarity, where I realized that I didn't want to be Wrath. That I didn't want to follow this man anymore that I wanted to be my own man. I wanted to be able to talk with Sloth, to learn more about her and to meet the people in the village and see the places she talked about and... Pride had taken that from me. I had a decision to make in that moment and Wrath... made it for me."
Naoki well knew what happened after that. What he'd done in the village of Lo'Kan on that day was still one of the things that haunted him the most. But that was more than just because of what he'd done to the people. It was this, that he'd chosen to forgo his momentary clarity to give control to the anger inside him.
"I killed innocent people because I was angry. Since then I have done my best to keep my anger under control to keep Wrath under control. But I slipped at the Feast, I was so angry at that young woman for the way she was speaking of you and I knew there were better ways but I just... want to hit her. So I did. I tried to justify it but... I've done my best to never strike unprovoked and rarely ever strike first. While the girl was rude she wasn't truly provoking me, not in a way that calls for violence. I am not worried that I am about to go off and start slaughtering people... yet."
Finally Alden looks Naoki in the eye to get to the heart of it all. This was the first time he'd told... anyone how he'd gotten his name and the full extent of what had happened on that night. There was a certain... catharsis in the telling and he could not imagine sharing the story with anyone else. It felt too raw, too personal for that.
"But... Wrath is still buried deep in my core Naoki. All that anger about what was done to me, all that I suppress and control is still there and... I think my grip on it might be slipping. Maybe because I am dissatisfied and need to find more meaning in my life but... maybe its just going to happen regardless."
There it was, the full extent of his worries. Listless dissatisfaction that had drawn to light the very palpable fear that he might snap if things continued on as they were.

Hands folded, ears forward, Naoki listens as Alden tells his tale. She nods, solemn, and lets the impact of his words echo for a moment before sighing softly.
“Every time you’ve told me about him, I’ve always been a bit surprised,” Naoki admits, re-folding her hands. “There's not enough coin in the world to justify the sort of person Pride became. Bothers me that anyone could be like that., really.”
She sighs again, trying to clear the air. “A fine name, though, and freely given by someone who cared about you. I... “ Naoki looks at him. “I can’t imagine you as Wrath, really.”
And though she says that, a part of Naoki’s face willingly betrays that it’s not quite true. It’s true of the Alden she knew — the Alden that was a father, but not as much for this one here. It may be such that a handful of missteps and bad decisions could be quite bad for him indeed, she can’t say.
“And I… sincerely doubt that it’ll happen regardless,” she continues. “It hasn’t so far, it didn’t to the other Alden, and the only thing that’s changed is that you’re spending more time now thinking about how things are bad than you have before — and not without cause, granted, but this is probably about as bad as things will get. As long as we keep you on the straight and narrow, try to get your life satisfaction up and keep cause for bad feelings down, you’ll be fine, I’m sure. Stay there.”
Standing, Naoki crosses over to where Alden is seated and wraps his top half in a hug from the side, holding him there until he either relaxes or starts gasping for air. It might be a few moments, but he probably needs a few moments, she thinks. Afterward, she’d release him and return to her seat, confident in her ability to soothe the soul in such a manner.

"Bothers me as well."
Alden said when she spoke on her feelings on Pride. He offered up a grim chuckle to try and soften the words but there wasn't really much humor to be had. He'd met only a few people he would describe as truly evil and Pride was perhaps the worst of the lot.
Then came the half truth and Alden could see it in her face. He knew her well enough and their situation well enough to fathom what went unsaid. Honestly, he could not blame her. Much between them was the same but the occasional differences they found were stark and glaring when they occurred.
When she told him to stay he offered up a more sincere smile, though it is still drained by the weight of the emotions he'd expressed. "Where are you worried I'll go? You've corned this mouth." Perhaps not the best joke but he had been avoiding her for a few days and with the things weighing on him shared he wouldn't be quite as hard to find.
When she hugs him he hesitated for only a moment before he returned the embrace. Some of the tension and exhaustion drained from him from the simple comfort being offered and after a few moments she would know she could pull away.
"Thank you Naoki."
Alden said softly as she returned to her seat. Then he leaned back in his chair and let out a long slow sigh. Not quite sure what to say next before settling on.
"Well, that's me sorted for the moment I suppose. How have you been?"

Having released Alden and reseated herself, Naoki is given pause.
“I mean, I’m… Okay, I suppose, but you've… I’ve… what?” One eyebrow quirked, she seems confused. “Say that again? I’ve what your mouth?” “I just didn’t want you to stand up when I stood up. Is that… slang? Wordplay? I don’t follow.”

The question gave Alden pause as he reviewed what he'd said for a moment before realizing.
"I did say mouth, didn't?"
That gets a surprised snort from him and then he shook his head.
"Mouse, you've cornered this mouse. That's what I meant to say, I was trying to be funny."
But apparently, he'd stumbled over his words but somehow, at least for him, that helped to break a bit more of the tension that had been present.

“Oh. … Oh.” There’s the realization, and Naoki chuckles. “Oh, I get it, because I’m -- yes, I see. Ok.”
“Your humor is.. Getting there,” she admits. The misspeaking was funnier than the intended joke, but it’s the first time this Alden has made her laugh, so that’s progress.
“I’m…” Naoki pauses to consider. “Fine? I suppose. Adjusting. I’m not very much a fan of having lost, well, my Empire, and most everyone and everything in it, but you could have surmised that.” She spins her wheels as she tries to settle upon a more substantial answer.
Eventually, her eyes settle on Alden, and she fixes him with a searching look, as though she’s peering into his very soul. “Say.” she begins, after a moment. “You said you wanted to try having kids, didn’t you?”

"Well, that's progress at the very least."
Alden replied to her comment about his humor with a good-natured grin. Actually quite thrilled by the compliment since polishing his jokes was something he'd been working on for some time.
Then she answered his question and he inclined his head in acknowledgement. There was no denying that the weight of everything lost was still being felt by everyone. He held his silence as she thought considering her in turn as their eyes met and she asked a question in turn.
"You know I did." Alden responded as he cocked his head to the side, still considering her. "Though it is more... I suppose I want a family? I know my counterpart raised his children with minimal help from their mother. I would like to avoid that." There was a pause and a slight frown as he considered it more carefully. "Both for the children and myself. I'd would like to think if I was to have children it could be with someone who wants to be... involved." He spoke slowly since this was still a subject he struggled with at times but he was getting better at it.

Naoki nods along. “He didn’t necessarily choose that, but yes.”
“I was thinking along similar lines,” she says. “I’ve gone from forced family to no family, to found family, back down over the years to now only a handful of good friends. I was averse to the idea at first, when everything was already sorted. But now, looking around, seeing my people’s numbers diminished so, thinking about it, and listening to myself more…” Trailing off, Naoki glances away, then looks back.
“Makes me want to start a dynasty,” she says. “A good-sized one, ideally with multiple consorts. Had your ‘counterpart’ not already been spoken for by the time I got to thinking about things the first time, I’d probably have a whole mess of teenagers right about now and be wishing I hadn’t. But..” Trailing off again, Naoki shrugs and smirks. “How about it?”

Alden's head remains cocked but when she finally posed her question he blinked once, slowly and then stared at her in silence for a while. He didn't need her to repeat herself as some might have at such a sudden question but he did need time to think on it. He did remember her tackling the subject of an heir before but this was beyond looking for someone to take over her empire from the sounds of it.
"I suppose it depends on what it is."
Was what he finally settled on.
"Should I be interpreting the offer literally? You are asking me to be an Empress Consort, one of potentially many, to sire you an heir and I suppose share custody over our children alongside a gaggle of tutors?"
He'd learned enough in dealing with nobility of foreign nations to have a rough idea of how they were raised.
"It feels a bit impersonal but I suppose it works..."
A slight frown crossed his features are he tried to consider what he wanted. He'd been thinking far more traditional in terms of family structure but very little in his life was traditional, why would this be any different?
"Am I actually a good choice for such a role though? My reputation in camp isn't exactly at a high point at present, could cause some controversy and further discontent."
