Appearance: A man with lighter skin than that of his father, with flattened nose and a pointed chin. Prefers to keep himself shaved, both in regards to jawline and his head, though he maintains a large mustache. He wears fine clothes like his father, namely a wool tunic, a military jacket, and often, a dark blue overcoat.
Equipment: Erhan keeps on his person a saber and a knife at all times, and also keeps on his person various navigational instruments, which he uses on his voyages, as well as a wineskin and a piece of hardtack with a cloth wrapped around it.
Skills and Abilities: Erhan, now in his late twenties, benefitted from his father Selim's study since he was a young lad, although not in the way that most trades would be passed down in his culture. Erhan, like his father, split from the profession of his forefathers, however, unlike even Selim, Erhan learned the nuances of navigation and command of sea vessels. He knows well how to read, interpret, even draft maps, and has a keen eye for potential and real hazards at sea. Erhan also is learned in fighting armed and unarmed in traditional Tamilşik martial arts. Finally, his experience in being away from a comfy port or city has taught him to be a shrewd negotiator while away from home.
Biography: Erhan, while he was born to be the heir of Selim Pashka, an heir himself, did not know much of the regal life that was laid out for him. When his uncle seized the throne and Selim fled with a boat full of skilled and unskilled loyalists, Erhan was only nine years old.
Now away from the palatial providence that once welcomed them, they were now outcasts—affluent outcasts, but outcasts all the same. Wherever they landed, they were at first viewed with suspicion by the locals, then welcomed as Selim's shipbuilding business took off and provided prosperity to the region, then once again viewed with suspicion by local leaders who saw fit to dispatch any suspected effort to raise a private navy and carve out a fiefdom.
Now, in the shrouded seas, Erhan struggles to keep the peace amidst worried sailors and retainers.

A needle of annoyance pricks Aidana’s mind. Nurzat’s excuse had driven her into an uncomfortable position to make any swift and easy decisions. “Compassion it may be, yet it is a known truth that rats, big, small, or humanoid, carry diseases. Your actions may have compromised the entire colony.” She took a step towards Ehran. “Uluttun Mırzası. The ones who shared the boat with the rat must be quarantined immediately. Additionally, the being must be examined for anything that might suggest an infection. I will personally conduct these, as well as an examination of the being’s psychological state, and report back with suggestions of how to deal with them. If you will allow.” She bowed respectfully, but her eyes glared determinedly below her dark curls. Erhan is taken aback by the uruusunun enesi's forwardness in handing down a verdict, but then replies with evenness of tone, “Nurzat was the only one to come in physical contact with the ratfolk. He and the ratfolk must stay in one quarantine camp, and the others may stay in a separate quarantine. Should no untoward malaise come over the other crew before the end of three days, they shall be released to their regular duties. As for Nurzat's wife, allow her to choose her own lodging for the duration of her husband's quarantine. The nature of the examination, duration of the husband and the ratfolk's quarantine I leave to you.” Although he finishes with finality, he then speaks, “If the rat attests to useful skills per your own judgement, see to it's recovery. If not, send it on its way with clean bandages and provisions for three days.”

Age: 19
Appearance: Her dark curly hair might seem wild, but there is a method to the madness. Every strand is carefully considered. The same can be applied to her attire, which rigidly follows the Beylik standards of beauty and propriety, while also allowing her own identity to shine through.
Equipment: Well, a lady carries her adornments. Everything else she might need is locked away in her private domiciles or carried by the male (or the male servant).
Skills and Abilities: Talking with proper manners, deep interest in sciences and mathematics.
Biography: Raised as the oldest child of a prestigious Beylik family, she was taught table manners, curtsies, music, poetry. Yet in her free time, she could not stop devouring book after book from her father's study on subjects unrelated to her expected future. Yet, upon discussions with some of the family friends, it was apparent that Aidana was more suited to academic pursuits than marriage, so after some difficult conversations, her parents gave way. When the world flooded, her studies were violently halted, but her research was just beginning.

Please remain here for now, I'll send a messenger when I've made sure the shores are not contaminated. I know it's agonising to keep your distance now that we're so close to shore but you're important for... for everyone." Aidana quickly assembled two men to row her ashore. Nuzrat she ordered to return alone.

After digging around in a pile of his belongings for quite some time, he finally exclaims excitedly and loudly, “Finally, hahahaaaa!”
From the pile of scrolls, boxes and other trinkets, he pulls a smooth, glowing blue stone, and he places it in the palm of his hand. After staring at it for a few seconds, he mutters to himself almost whispering, “It still has its glow… good.” He looks over his shoulder, and pleased to see no one had yet reacted to his outburst, he tucks the stone away into his pocket, then calls for a servant. A male servant then rushes in and kneels, asking, “Your excellency?”
“Send for a team to unload my posessions onto land, should their assessment of it be favorable. I wish to place my feet on dry ground.”
The servant rises to his feet saying, “At once,” before jogging off down the hall. The servant's voice can be heard reverberating down the hallways as he calls for aid.
Selim smiles, reaching his hand into his pocket and feeling it in his hand. He then releases his grasp and begins making his way to the top deck.

After arriving back on the top deck, Selim approaches Erhan slowly, looking about to the company around him. He announces to the group, “I must speak with my son,” and waits expectantly.

“So we are likely to have the camp pitched by tonight?” Erhan asks.
“Consider it as good as done, your grace.” a man days, “Even now, half the tents are pitched and the most of the supplies have been offloaded.”
“However, regrettably,” begins an older woman in attendance, “…several of our supplies, including foods, fabrics, and even totems have molded and had to be discarded.”
The small congregation seems to grow worries at the mention that their totems had rotted, some tapping their fingers on their sides, others pursing their lips in visible discomfort. A pause sits still in the air.
“We shall hope and pray then that our gods have not departed from us for this, or at least, that they are forgiving of this matter,” Erhan replies. As the group nods, Selim comes up on deck, and upon hearing the announcement, the people begin to scatter away to discuss matters with nearby crew chiefs.
Finally separated from his group, and now alone with his father, Erhan leans toward Selim and speaks to him, “Lord father, there's no need to make yourself stranger to the council. You can confide in them.”

“I know, I know, my son,” he replies, reaching into his pocket, as he poorly resists the urge to smile. He brings a closed fist out of his pocket and holds it up to him, “but I entrust to you information that would serve as relief to you in particular.
He opens his palm, showing the glowing blue stone, “It still has its light. They're alive out there.”

Erhan froze, the relic pulsating in his father's hand, “But… but how? I thought we lost them in the storm off of Tsekophos!” He stares at it, for a second more, a smile creeping off his face, “I thought we lost good crewmen, good officers…” Realization suddenly catches up with him, and he begins a new thought, “We need to plant it as soon as possible, so they know where to find us.”

Selim nods emphatically, “As I intend to do not a minute after I'm done. Tell the council, and I will see that it is done.”
With that, he turns, his robes catching the breeze and flowing out as he begins to walk toward the life boats. He flags down the nearest crew chief, “Get me ashore.”

The crew chief's eyes open the address, not expecting it, particularly as sudden as it was, “I– yes, right away, your excellency!”
He immediately runs to begin preparing a boat, and once completed, he would row the prince ashore.

While on the boat, Selim removes his shoes and begins rolling up his trousers. As the boat runs aground on the soft sand, he swings his legs around out of the boat, heaves himself off, and begins wading along the bottom of the beach onto dry land, carrying his shoes in one hand. As he reaches dry ground further up the beach, he tosses his shoes onto the ground, reaches into his pockets, pulls out the relic, and places it on the ground.
After placing it on the ground, the stone pulses three times, then turns green, then yellow, and begins glowing brighter. He picks it up in his hand and takes ahold of it once more, placing it into his pocket. He smiles to himself again, then looks around, realizing that he hadn't exactly planned beyond this one task. He then asks the crew chief if he might be led to his tent, and follows him upon being directed.
