At least the name has alliteration. -Kua Redford A rocky inlet with turquoise waters leads to a round beach which smells of salt and... aged cheese. The air is thick and humid at mid day, but the nights are quite pleasant, and the sunrises and sunsets are brilliant and colorful. The small bay captures copious amounts of seaweed from a nearby kelp forest. There is so much of it the land itself hardly seems to know what to do with it. Algae booms periodically in the waters, alternating between brilliant bio luminescent displays and deadly red tides.
While not exactly a oasis of romance, the unusual spot is an ideal home for the faceless should they ever decide to begin a new colony, with its secluded nature and bounty of guilt-free biomass quite literally ripe for the taking.

Laszlo stepped emerged out of the water, once it was only waist-deep briefly stopping to let the gills nested between his ribs expel any excess water in his body, before moving ashore. He sniffed the air. It was distinctly briny, though not nearly as much as some other beaches on the island. But there was a smell he now caught which had a reaction he had not had in quite some time. It was very distant, carried from Sevintera, but it was there. The villain, the hated and despised, the wretched and accursed. His vampiric matriarch, the vile lackeys she hid behind. He began shaking all but uncontrollably, his mouth frothed like that of a rabid animal he needed to destroy her and all her underlings that did not let this happen.
How hungry he felt in that moment, the silver caps in his teeth now more than ever paining his gums and lips as they gnashed. He had not supped of blood for how long now? A year? To put his maw on her face and tear flesh from the loathsome woman. But he knew how far from reality this fantasy was. Compared to her might he was a mite (the alliteration, aha!) and for the moment he could do nothing about this urge to kill. This made the vampire feel all the more frustrated, an innocent crab briefly being the unfortunate victim of of his tantrum as with a pained shriek be stomped on it. As chitin flew in all directions turning necrotic in almost the same instant, Laszlo fell on the sand clutching his head, just angry and pained enough to not cry out in grief.
But then he smelled another. He spirited himself away behind a rock, and listened. He had not been to this part of the island before, and he wondered what he might encounter.

A particularly gangly five legged creature crept into the bay, long spindly arms that split apart like branches, the majority of its body was a mass of red flesh, decorated with a sort of pale marbling, the flesh pulsed in the salty breeze, a bifurcated neck spooled about, terminating in what appeared to be a theatre mask however it lacked holes for seeing or breathing, just smoothed cavities on a blank mask made of a bone like material. The same bony material covered parts of the tetrapod's bodies, including the hooked manipulators found on the ends of it's numerous limbs.
The Faceless had been visiting the bay a few times in the past, enjoying the particular acoustics of the area, though recently it had ideas of experimentation with that thing that Trueborn mentioned, 'food' that was the name of it, like a special kind of feeding. The slick greenery that coated the sandy coastline it had a most strange sensation when consumed, so it planned on dragging some back for help doing food things when the Trueborn returned.
It began seizing bundles of seaweed and kelp into it's many arms as siphon-like orifices belted out an utterly bizarre repeating sound.

Nearby, in a slightly less odorous clearing on the beach, Kua was massaging Jace's shoulders. It wasn't just for fun; she'd been training him in the general principles of melee combat. He'd been working hard, and she didn't want him to be too sore.
"Remember, you have to be relaxed and loose right before you strike. Soft, then strong. Like your whole body is a whip, loose, and then the *w-CHoo*."
Kua was out of armor, instead dressed in linen slacks and shirt. The humid beach warranted it, and regardless they weren't beating each other up this session.
She came around to his front side and stepped back a few paces. Then she playfully threw a kick towards Jace's face, missing by a mile of course. The kick was a sort of feint kick; for the first split second it looked like a front snap kick, her knee coming straight up from the sand. But then somehow she twisted her lower leg mid flight so that when her foot sprang out it would strike the target from the side. Her speed was a blur.
"*w-CHoo!*" She giggled. "I can teach you that, when you're ready. But for now, just use sticks and spears."
The inhuman reverberations echoed throughout the beach, and Kua's face turned towards it with a hint of glee. "More slimy cow ants." She hoped the Faceless would like it here, either as a second home or as an outpost. It would also be a good place for Travels Far to rest, if taking care of their latest charge proved exhausting to it. The only thing the bay was lacking was large rocky hills or cliffs for the Faceless to make their cave networks, but hopefully there was adequate terrain further inland.

Aleena stood leaning against a palm tree as she analyzed the combat. Her pink eyes were gleaming as she looked from Kua to Jace. Her face rested uncomfortably, and as a result she never looked that friendly, a perpetual blank expression plastered on her ashen face unless disturbed. She walked over slowly, her freshly made straw hat flopping a little as it blocked the sun, "I don't know if you would like some training in throwing an ax or sword's play...at least my style of sword's play, but if you wish I could assist," she said with not a note of care either way, simply staring over, her eyes not particularly unfriendly contrary to what the rest of her face said. "If not, it's no matter to me. I am content to simply be taken out on this excursion," she said blinking once before glancing over at a pile of rocks with eyes narrowing and sharp nose twitching, "Interesting," she stated out of the blue with little explanation as to why. The vampire walked firmly with a few strides and outstretched a hand, "I request the ax Travel's Far gave you when we left," she said with a confident... and demanding tone, which was the first either of them had ever heard her use, and her eyes flicked back to the pile of rocks yet again, "I would like to fetch some of the fruit these trees have," she exclaimed eyes flicking to the rocks again as her hand made a small motion of silence, barely noticeable from afar, but clear as day to the duo in front of her.

Jace relaxed into Kua's touch as she tended to his aching muscles. "Relax, I think I can do that." Jace has been awfully tense during his training. The movements didn't feel natural to him, not as natural as the ebb and flow of his magic, a glimmer of what it once was before this wretched place. It has sapped his magic like a leaky tap. There was a pressure to want to succeed and make Kua proud. This gave Jace motivation to train hard.
He chuckled a little at Kua's sound effects. That chuckle quickly turned into an alarmed yell as she kicked her leg up, missing Jace's face by a mere inch. He stumbled back and fell butt first into the sand. "I-I don't think I'm f-flexible enough" he groaned, rubbing his sore bottom. The fell was audible to those around, thud!
Jace has gotten to know the lovely Kua and their odd friend Travels Far, which has gotten Jace quite interested. He felt a sense of belonging amongst their little ragtag trio. Though Jace sometimes did wish Kua and him had a little more alone time, but no point in him complaining. Jace was surprised to meet more of these Faceless, some might come to find them horrifying but he found them comforting.
Upon seeing Aleena walk over, Jace quickly straightened himself and stood up. He had hoped that maybe the vampire didn't witness his embarrassing fall. "If you wish, I can train. We have time to kill and I think I'm starting to get the hang of it-" Jace quickly stopped talking as he noticed Aleena's hand. Is something amiss? Jace's senses were not as sharp as hers. He crouched down.

Laszlo's listened ever briefly as a creature most peculiar entered the scene. It was nothing like he had ever seen before, and though a few select traits were familiar the Faceless was ultimately an alien to him. Green-grey drool dripped from upper canines down onto lower ones as this one entered his mind as breakfast. From the distance he could hardly tell what the hell it was, but he was almost certain it would have valuable traits to absorb into his greater whole. He touched the mind of a passing gull, overpowering its mind to control the thing. Watching the faceless, he swivelled the bird's eyes to see that the monster was now in fact, not alone. It was surrounded by people, and suddenly the prospect of yet another component to his transformation of a warmachine to slay Maribel was quite sadly dashed. Perhaps if these people looked a little more helpless with "kick me" signs hammered into their spines he'd consider it, but for now he would not waste his time.
But then another entered his scent. He had smelled the Correan vampiric taint coming from elsewhere, and there was now another bloodsucker here. Again rage entered him, bloodlust literal and metaphoric alike again making mandibles itch. Were they his thralls? They hardly acted like it. Perhaps they were oblivious? Well, he would hardly come as trustworthy if he appeared from behind the stone that was his means to obscure himself.
His mind cycled through different animals he had encountered to transition to, until settling on a beige lizard form he turned to for skittering away from the beach on. Once out of sight or earshot, he changed back into his more natural form. The Vampire then did a quick glance over himself for preventability. He was perfumed, and made up to hide the black viscera writhing beneath the taut pale skin. He rummaged in his pockets, eventually producing cut glass to don upon his eyes to give them better defined irises, pupils. Oh! Yes, he retrieved a small mallet and hammered his canines a little bit deeper into his mouth. It would after all seem quite silly to insist a woman had to be torn up for being a vampire when his own teeth were looking like that.
Satisfied, he approached the party. "I say, good day!" he announced in the general direction of Kua and Jace. "I am sorry to ruin so fine of a day you are enjoying but, I must regretfully warn you that you are in grave danger." It was only by the second sentence he had enough presence of mind that he wasn't talking to mindless corpses to remember to keep his voice from having the vampiric echo that he liked so much.
"You see...." he continued, gesturing with a wave of his hand to Aleena. "That member of your assembly is in fact, a vampire. A bloodsucker. A monster."

Without realizing she was about to insult Aleena, Kua replied "Oh, I can get you fruit. That is no problem. You can still play with it and stuff, right?" Sadly, Kua was being sincere; she knew the vampire needed blood to survive, and so she missed the fact that Aleena was offering to be helpful, let alone that she was trying to get her hands on a weapon. However, she did catch Aleena's hand gesture, as by now she was well-practiced at reading body language.
Killing two birds with one stone, she bent down to retrieve her longsword on the ground, still in its sheath, not only to signify to a possible intruder that they were armed, but also to follow up on Aleena's second offer. She handed to Jace, since she felt more confident defending herself without it than him. (Aleena might interpreted this as a second accidental insult, since she was arming Jace before the vampire.) "You guys can train. It's good to train with different people. Oh, but Aleena, lemme show you how to climb trees with rope so you don't have to chop them down to get fruit to play with."
Just then, the mysterious figure appeared to warn them about their friend. Kua turned around and immediately, uncannily, waved and smiled, as if she had known the interloper her entire life. This wasn't remotely true of course, but Laszlo had done well to start the conversation off with "Good day!" She looked him up and down, assembling her mental checklist to try to assess the danger the new presence posed:
He was wearing concealing clothing in a warm, humid environment. That was a bad sign.
He did not try to ambush them, but instead presented himself out in the open. That was a good sign.
He was accusing their friend of being a threat to them, and it was a somewhat correct assumption. That was a good sign... sorta.
He looked sort of ill. Perhaps he was hungry? Illness was not a bad sign in and of itself.
Hmm, 60/40 shot that this new figure is an alright person. Kua nodded to herself.
"Good day to you too! Oh, she can't suck it anymore. She has to sip it through a pouch. And she's not a monster. The monster is where she gets it from."
She smiled genially at Aleena, and then back towards the "good day" fellow, as if she were introducing two children to each other.
"My name is Kua, and these are my friends Jace and Aleena. Would you like some fruit?"

"You guys can train. It's good to train with different people. Oh, but Aleena, lemme show you how to climb trees with rope so you don't have to chop them down to get fruit to play with." Just then, the mysterious figure appeared to warn them about their friend. Kua turned around and immediately, uncannily, waved and smiled, as if she had known the interloper her entire life. This wasn't remotely true of course, but Laszlo had done well to start the conversation off with "Good day!" She looked him up and down, assembling her mental checklist to try to assess the danger the new presence posed: He was wearing concealing clothing in a warm, humid environment. The monster is where she gets it from." She smiled genially at Aleena, and then back towards the "good day" fellow, as if she were introducing two children to each other. "My name is Kua, and these are my friends Jace and Aleena. Would you like some fruit?" At the comment of what she might do with the fruit, Aleena raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms looking at Kua with her face slightly quirked to the side as she spoke. She wasn't thrilled with this conclusion, and if anyone else had placated her in a matter as insulting as that, well she would have had their head. However, Kau was different, she had given her a second opportunity at life, and the vampire could...stomach, the slights for that. Then she saw Kua, hand over her sword to the child, and she struggled not to make her jaw drop. Was she that bad that the elf thought she needed to be protected by a child? This was a slight that would not pass, she would have to carefully thrash this young lad next sparring session to prove her competence clearly. However, to the matter of hand she turned and looked the newcomer straight in the eyes, "What is your business here? I can smell you just as well as you can smell me," she said with eyes relaxed, the bedraggled man, while mayhap a cornered cat, was not as well rested or mobile as she was, even without her weapons she remained quite confident she could give him a bloody thrashing. At least, that's what she thought as she took a step forward looking him up and down.

Appearance: He is a limber man with hair touched by snow. His amethyst eyes explore the world with curiosity yet he hides behind darkened robes.

Skills and Abilities: He has driven himself into the teachings of magic especially those involved with the occult.
Biography: As a young boy, he was cast out of his family for his abnormal looks. The color of his pale skin, the shade of his hair, even his eyes an unnatural color caused the townspeople to take up arms. They thought him to be cursed and a bad omen. When he is near something terrible would happen.

Seeing the strange man approach them, Jace stood up accepting the sword Kua offered him. From experience, Kua is much more friendly compared to himself. Jace couldn't help but be paranoid at the stranger.
He moved to stand diagonally from his friends ready to intervene should trouble arise. He scanned the man with narrowed eyes. Jace is not as easy to trust as some of the other people in the group. He will let the ladies do the talking. Jace is thankful for the training. He has built up some muscle and no longer looks as frail and weak. With the new found strength, he's definitely not going to be a push over.

Age: Though in truth decades old, his appearance would hint at him being past 20 yet younger than 30.
Appearance: An inhumanly large man at well above two meters in height, he is pale as typical for most vampires. His visage and body is well chiselled, a powerful form given some effeminate polish (this comes in a few forms: clear use of makeup, painted nails, and floral perfumes). It would easily be considered handsome if it had not the appearance of being shattered like porcelain with black cracks all along his skin sometimes but not necessarily coinciding with veins. His hair is long and black, whilst his once blue eyes are now wholly white, absent of any colour on the bulbs; paradoxically, they turn black when illuminated by direct light as if casting shadows within themselves, softening again to a necrotic yellow if that light is of the sun. In between every rib is a slit in his flesh wherein he created improvised gills of his own body along with a great deal of other modifications he subsumes into his own meat. However few will see this of him, most instead seeing the ornate armour or robes he wears with a combination of nautical and vampiric themes. Hammered directly into his breast is a strange contraption of metal, oft leaking black ooze.
Equipment: Quite variant, a fact exacerbated by him hiding much under his flesh.
Skills and Abilities: He has the powers typical of the Correa vampiric bloodline, but extremely heavily watered down both by virtue of his severance from connection with the Matriarch Maribel, and further by the fact he starves himself of blood for ever longer periods of time. At the same time he seems supernaturally resilient and regenerative of any trauma done on his flesh even for a vampire.
To gain sufficient power to defeat Maribel, he has began experimenting upon his own body. For now these changes have mostly been the addition of the abilities of nautical creatures but he seeks to expand the arsenal of bestial abilities assimilated.
Reading a great many grimoires and tomes he has quite the magical repertoire.
All his flesh-craft has given him a non-negligible ability to shapeshift, though this is a quite slow process involving a violent breaking of bones and torn meats.
Biography: Not much is known. The best person to ask would be that bitch he keeps muttering about.

When Kua gave her reply, Laszlo realized that things were absolutely not going as he had intended. The woman was supposed to thank him for having informed her of such a dangerous threat, and they were to have promptly ejected the vampire. By now, Laszlo was supposed to have followed her out, and begun the oh so pleasant process of tearing limb from limb. As he proverbially hungered for blood, the offer of fruit almost felt insulting. "I... you don't understand!" he hissed, then promptly covered his mouth. His body was going out of control, his jaw bones cracking violently as they instinctually attempted to reform to a larger, beak-like shape with the aim of biting Aleena's head off in one go. His hand strained to keep himself from leaving the human form, the man turning away briefly as a finger fell off with the effort. He grunted as the fallen appendage squirmed away on its own personal affairs, the lost digit completely pale in its bloodlessness. In one movement, the vampire then did three things: he turned back to face the assembled party, buried the wriggling finger with a movement of his foot and put the hand in a pocket to conceal it.
He closed his eyes, and took a deep breath to compose himself. "Allow me to explain. There is a colony of vampires near here, the Correa family. Horrible, vicious, deviant things stealing the minds of people to make them thralls, turning whoever they so wish into more of their wretched kind. By the geographic proximity the probability seems almost inevitable that this is one of that accursed dynasty, the ranks of which should be destroyed wherever they show their faces. For your own sake and safety, you should be rid of it lest you yourselves come to serve that damn bitch Maribel." The man had managed to say the words calmly, even with the invocation of Maribel. His voice was deep with the faintest of rasps, yet oddly sibilant and tender, almost caressing of the ears; the two opposing timbres of the speech gave an effect almost of torn silk.

Kua Redford

Roleplay posts: 104
Age: 90 (appears early 20s)
Appearance: A thin half-elf, whose olive skin has a greenish tint. Slightly pointed ears. Noticeably wide grin. Dark brown eyes and straight black hair.
Her knuckles are calloused with little scars.
Equipment: A pitch black long coat-style gambeson and a kettle helmet. A longsword inscribed with runes. A pouch of medicinal herbs. A buckler with a long chain attached to it.
A clay flute. A pair of fuzzy pink earmuffs.
A thick black book filled with strange notes...
Skills and Abilities: Kua possesses remarkable gymnastic and martial arts abilities. Her kinesthetic intelligence is very high. She is also a skilled sword fighter and unconventional buckler wielder. Kua also possesses the potential for fire and holy magic. The mists keep it at bay, but the force of her emotions can occasionally overcome it.
She is quite skilled with a flute.
She struggles with complex abstract concepts and mathematics, and demonstrates no social fear. She has a heart condition that requires periodic herbal treatment.
Biography: Kua Redford was born with a disability similar to William's Syndrome. Her parents were overprotective and fearful Kua would never be able to live a normal life. However, Kua also possessed a fierce, independent drive. What started as basic self-defense lessons became an obsession with becoming a warrior so that she could survive on her own.
Kua was enabled by the King of her city-state of Whitehall, a man who saw great potential in her. He had her further trained so she could fulfill her wish of becoming a great paladin someday. Although there were many doubters and Kua's progress was slow, the king went to his deathbed still believing in her dream.
(It didn't hurt that the king was secretly her grandfather. But that is a very long story.)
Because Kua is a half-elf, she ages slowly. Bigots from her world believe her "condition" to be a result of her being a half-breed.

She can smell him? Could it be?
But Kua would need an extra few seconds to connect those dots.
Her stomach lurched with pity as he turned his mouth away. She had already deemed him a safe enough presence to engage with, so he didn't perceive a monstrous visage trying to escape. Thus she did not connect his actions to barely contained murderous intent. Instead what she saw was a sick, desperate man, who had clearly suffered at the hands of this Maribel.
She positioned herself between Laszlo and Jace and Aleena and held a hand out towards the newcomer, gently, but firmly. Her presence was like a wall of feathers, soft, yet immovable.
"I understand. Thank you for warning us that there is danger nearby. But Aleena no longer has her fangs. I destr- mmm." Even Kua felt some guilt at how mentioning the incident might make Aleena feel. "We fought, she became our prisoner. I struck her, with intent to... liberate her from her pain. But, a golden light appeared through my sword. I'm not sure how I did it, but it was like the magic had a will of its own. The divine heat burned through her mouth and destroyed her fangs. But it spared her life. Now she is our companion."
Laszlo might find Kua's cadence unnerving. It was even and melodic, child-like. But there was a lack of nervousness or give in her voice which might almost seem... patronizing. It was as if she knew exactly what to say, even if this wasn't really true. Kua was in a sense both very young and very old at the same time, after all.
She slowly lowered her hand to extend it as a handshake. She took a step forward with one foot.
"We have friends here, creatures you might think are scary. They have souls and have suffered much too. We need to warn them. Will you come with us?"
(An experienced fighter might recognize the barest hint of a battle stance in Kua's posture. She was sincere, but also preparing to defend herself.)

Age: She looks to be in her thirties
Appearance: Description: The vampire is a thin and tall figure with skin that resembled the color of a birch tree. Her eyes glow with a misty red under the dark hazel. Her hair is a very short cut as to avoid getting caught up on her hunts. A solid red cloth bandana covers up her mouth. Her mouth was more of a snake like set of fangs carrying a hefty paralyzing venom.
Her clothes were of a sturdy make with a more weathered look to them. Mostly it was cow leather, but there was a bit of clean cotton and jean like materials mixed in to provide a healthy practical set of clothes.
Race: Human Vampire
Height/Weight: She is slightly above average in height. However, due to a limited diet she is a lot more of a light weight.
Equipment: Weapons/Tools of the Trade: She tends to carry a hefty pair of machetes for both practical and defense uses. Other than that, a combat survival knife and other basic things are quite normal to find on her person or in her survival sack.
Skills and Abilities: Strengths: She's incredibly focused, and as a result has outlived most of her kin. She has a very keen attention around her making it hard to sneak up or get the better of her. Her previous life as an assassin has given her a round set of skills including stealth and a very good ability to read a room.
Weaknesses: She's not very good morally. She can be very selfish and doesn't enjoy to think about the needs of others. When she does she starts to realize the hypocrisy of what she says and she doesn't enjoy the realization.
Magic Abilities: She doesn't have any per say, but she's very adapt at noticing them.
Normal Skills: Hunting and general survival is something she's been forced to learn. She's also very good in quick hand to hand combat, often forcing her oponents unto unstable footing or ground to go for the killing blow.
Motivation: She wishes to simply survive, and due to this very single track mindset hasn't really drifted into what to do beyond that.
Biography: Backstory: The vampire worked as an assassin for a large group of them from before the collapse. It's really as simple as that.

Aleena sniffed the air again and frowned at the taste of desperation that swirled about. She took a deep breath and stepped forward, one hand snatching the ax from Kua's belt with a deft fluid motion that was incredibly quick. Contrary to the soft, feather like nature of Kau, she was more akin to the sharp judgement of the bird's claws and beak.
She then took a few long strides to the side of Kau and spoke with a steeled tone, "You speak truth, I would not say I am a safe or trustworthy companion, of my own damned nature, but by that logic we can conclude," she paused thinking for a minute as she twisted the ax in her hand so that the blunt side was showing and the blade was towards her elbow, "That neither are you."
The vampire stared at his conniptions, "I am not a forgiving person, but I am in debt to someone who is, so hold your peace, or else I will beat you unconscious, tie you up, and we'll work from there," she said coolly with the blunt side of the ax pointed at him, "Do you understand me?"

Foliage snapped.
Staggering through the underbrush came Travels Far, a few weeks producing blood had taken it's toll on the faceless, as it turns out you can't just make an organ to produce blood but you also need to filter it and clean it and pump it and regulate it's temperature, they might have felt pity for it's Trueborn companions if it weren't in an immessurably bad mood as a result of having to build and maintain a bunch of new organs it had very little knowledge of. It was more hunched over than it usually presented itself, it's almost human silhouette, now bent and buckled from the pain caused by the brand new tissue inside it. One of it's arms had been growing asymmetrically, and it turned out that Travels Far was using it as a third leg of sorts, most grotesque of all was the translucent sack of blood that bulged out from in between its boney plates. Of course it still had no face, but there was still a palpable sensation of aching frustration emanating from the creature, for the past few weeks Travels Far had been spending most of it's time dreamlessly sleeping or complaining.
And since it was currently awake, complaining was in order.
"I...heard noises, loud." Travels Far chittered out, craning it's head to survey the scene. It spotted Laszlo, the whipped back to look at Kua. "Are...you...Trueborn...multiplying?", the question did little to hide the tones of frustration over having more fragile Trueborn scampering about, it was exhausted already producing gore for one Reborn.

Kua speaking did have a certain... deflating effect on Laszlo. Vicious bloodlust and pent up aggression stopped in its tracks when met with very calm efforts to deescalate. Panic would have been seen as weakness to pounce upon in that they wouldn't protect the other vampire and he therefore had free reign. Stiff resistance would have been seen as a sign that they were enthralled, and that he had to act before they could react to free them from the mental chains that bound a thrall. Laszlo was like an enraged bear that slammed into glass it couldn't break, suddenly baffled that it found itself unable to bite at whatever had been the cause of its previous ire. If his mind had not been broken a thousand times over, he might have had a different attitude upon analysis of Kua's body language but he was not sufficiently aware of the world outside his head to interpret anything more than the absolute most surface level of what he perceived.
At the mention of the vampire having her fangs destroyed, Laszlo chuckled. The sound was seemingly bearing fluid as if the man was drowning in his own phlegm. "Take her fangs take her fangs take her fangs take her fangs....." A much higher pitched giggle came from the man after he repeated the mantra to himself for a brief moment seemingly oblivious to the entire world around him. Yes, he'd have to do that to Maribel. The issue was deciding before and after which of the other punishments he had in mind for his wretched mistress would this come.
His almost infantile marvel at his own thoughts broke as Kua made another offer, to warn people of the danger that the Correas posed. "Yes... people must know when evil intrudes." he said, voice wholly monotone as if read off a script before him; this may as well have been true for the glazed over look upon his eyes. Yes this was the purpose of what he was doing after all! It wasn't selfish, he would end a villain and then find a cure for the affliction. He was a hero.
He was then torn out of his mollified state when Aleena spoke. He snarled, bearing his full teeth as he very abruptly lost his composure. They were not vampiric, or at least not in the sense of prominent fangs; in fact they were mostly identical regardless of where along the jaw they were placed. The upper row were conical, pointy like a bear's while the lower was broad and shark-like, yet all bore the common trait of being grossly oversized for a human. More strangely for a vampire they were capped with silver, though the position of the metal on the periodic table would be hard to discern by naked eye alone.
"YOU DARE LIKEN ME TO YOURSELF VERMIN?" He clutched his head again in pain as things squirming under his skin vied for supremacy. What a migraine they made. Another snarl came form Laszlo, for though now more collected he was still just as enraged. "Every insult suffered, monster, deviant, fiend, true, and yet none as vile as this. All the effort to crush bloodsuckers any time they appear. But then you have the the perfidy to threaten me with... with... that? You truly must be Maribel's spawn, you, you...." He trailed off and then screeched in frustration as he failed to find a descriptor that was both insulting and accurate to his liking.
As travels far arrived on the scene, and moreover began to speak, Laszlo brought the hand missing a finger to his temple as another pulse of a headache struck. A tiny tentacle had begun growing to replace the missing digit, the distracting effort of its regeneration another fact muddying his mind as he struggled with the surprise of the fact that the Faceless could in fact speak. He wondered briefly if he had imagined the sound. "No?" he managed with a pained whimper, more out of an effort to goad it to speak to confirm he had really heard it than as a reply.
