History of Tamilşe Çar Beylik | Origins (19 AC – 1 PC) | Tamilşe Beylik Coup | 19 – 18 AC | Selim Paşka was born to the Paşka dynasty as the first son and rightful heir of Izzet Paşka Bey. When a coup by Selim's brother, Berk Paşka marginally succeeded, Selim was permitted to leave with his young son Erhan Paşka alive with whatever riches he could fit on The Işenimdüü, as long as he would never return, and he did just that[tcbcc: 1]. However, instead of choosing solely riches, he chose to take with him a few dozen capable loyalists who would crew the ship and aid him on his journey. | Traveling Years | 18 AC – 1 PC | During the next several years, Selim, already somewhat knowledgeable and curious about shipbuilding and some naval disciplines, set out to learn all there was to know about designing and building ships down to the smallest detail, so that he might find himself useful in a world that would no longer cater to him, and taught the loyalists he brought with him what he learned, also teaching many to read and write. In these years, the traveling band of tradesfolk found themselves at first viewed with suspicion by locals, welcomed as Selim's shipbuilding business took off and improved the local economy, then viewed with suspicion by the local leadership, who thought that Selim and his shipwrights were building a navy to carve out their own fiefdom, and were exiled again and again as this cycle repeated itself over the years. This instilled a bitterness in Selim as he gained in years, and it would continue to grow. | Flood & Mist | 1 PC | Now faced with new challenges, The Işenimdüü sailed throughout the mists, sometimes picking up stragglers and survivors, however, Selim's retainers, hardened over years of repeated rejection, embraced a doctrine of self-preservation, and when any act of evil enchantment or manner of evil spirit found itself aboard, newcomers would often find themselves in trials to prove innocence else face the shrouded tides. Naught more than a fortnight prior to landing, The Işenimdüü discovered The Depravity and joined it in formation, following it to the Misted Isles. |
