On the northern shore, nestled in the valley between two mountains, surrounded by pines, is the village of Nunnalo. A community of vulx live here: humanlike beings with foxlike traits. They call themselves the Nannai. Mostly peaceful, these vulx will often forage, fish, and farm, but they hunt when they can, and when something substantial is caught, they host a feast. It's easy to realize their resourcefulness, as many of their buildings are made of boats retrieved from the shore. Some have built shelters in the canopy, while others have nestled on the ground, sometimes digging shelters in the roots of the larger trees. Most of the vulx are small, under five feet in height, but lean and swift. They have found a small haven here, between the mountains, and have found few problems to suffer through.

Appearance: "Starry-eyed Nefero" is an apt description for the young Kor'duran man, as he is awestruck by the world, which reflects back into eyes that mimic a night sky. A mop of curly black hair, the underside of which is white, sits on his head, framing a strong jaw on an otherwise youthful face. His skin is almond with an array of ivory freckles across his nose and cheeks. His massive wings alternate in a gradient of alabaster, black, and chestnut on the outside, with simple alabaster on the inside, ending in chestnut circles. His tail feathers mimic the pattern. His feet are a strange mingling, where the human half ends just before the toes, where wicked talons grow instead. Another claw grows from his heel.

Equipment: Other than his breezy breeches and thin shawl, Nefero owns a bronze khopesh, a javelin, a waterskin, and a tad bit of jewelry.
___________________________________________________
Skills and Abilities: Though he has been trained with the khopesh and the javelin all his life, never once has Nefero been in actual combat. The same can be said with his bow, though he has been known to use it for hunting on occasion. He has the same knowledge with hand-to-hand and talon-to-talon.

Nefero had been with the Nunnai for several days now. Though they were weary of him at first- especially the circles on his wings, mimicking the eyes of a great predator that they knew well- eventually they came to warm up to his bumbling idiocy. The once-prince thought himself endearing, but not in the ways he was expecting, or in ways he knew. Either way, he was given food and company, both of which were a welcome change to fasting in the woods alone. It helped that, after his experience with the Diriposa, he would come upon a village of even more beautiful and peaceful people. He thought himself rather lucky, he did. He'd heard many tales of other people who were colder and crueler, but those tales always came from mother. The more time he spent away from home, from her, the more he had to wonder if she actually knew what the outside world was like.
A yell interrupted his rumination. He'd been high up in a tree, braiding twine to make rope. It felt like a fool's errand; his fingers were not tiny or dextrous enough to make something useful! But before he could fuss, the yell drew his gaze to the shore.
The ocean. It felt like it was a mile out, but it was no more than fifty feet away from him before. There was a mound in the distance, swiftly approaching. Nefero furrowed his brow before realizing what it was. The same thing that took him away from home.
His heart pounding, Nefero swooped down, reaching for the first vulx to reach out for him in desperation.

Appearance: The look like a light Portuguese Man O War with a brain. It's brain cavity is clear allowing you to see inside it's body. The tentacles are long and lets them move around quickly and attack themselves to others of their species.
Equipment: They sometimes carry living weapons made out of other Synchs
Skills and Abilities: Using other members of their species they are able to shape their bodies to look like other species. Their mimicry is imperfect and normal intelligent species are able to tell the difference. This process involves synchphons analyzing their target and attaching themselves to each other to shape themselves. This process takes them about half an hour.
Magic helps this process and allows them to change colors to match the species or environment.
They can mimic abilities of other species when they shape shift. The abilities they copy are not as strong as the thing they copy, depending on the power level. They first transform into the user and see the ability in action for them to be able to replicate it.
Given that they are are colonial organisms their bodies can be cut into prices multiple times and are able to regenerate in a couple of days. If their brain is damaged however they die, and the body returns to their colony. Some parts are able to photosynthesize.
Usually they live underwater but are fast climbers and tunnelers because of their hardiness.

From within the wave, a new force entered the waters. A large blob, almost the size of a whale, glowed ominously beneath the water. While it moved slow, it ceased this opportunity to move to a new area.
The monster was actually a crab shaped jellyfish. It held a water bubble that made up most of her size and protected her greatest treasure.
A bunch of adorable jellyfish could be seen with their heads bobbing out of the water inside her protective bubble. Their sails, filled with air allowed them to stay afloat without aid. They were her guardians and her treasure, to be protected by their queen.
One of these jellyfish positioned themselves near the front of the wave, on top of the water bubble of their queen.
Reno, a synch that looked the same as it's comrades, pointed a disproportionally long tentacle forward. They found a new land to flee to. They needed to win this, they could not fail. The football sized jellyfish could not allow themselves to fail.
Reno had failed. Again and again and again and AGAIN. Every time they lost to those tall 4 tentacled creatures that could walk on land and made strange contraptions. They didn't like this world, even less than their previous one.
Their magic has dwindled, their numbers have fallen and their future was uncertain. Reno had faced multiple humiliating defeats here, and they were angry.
When the tsunami crashed into the village there was much rejoicing. Synchs cried out in joy. Their queen majestically leaped behind it to allow their forces to gain an advantage.
As the wave ravaged the town the synchs swarmed. Reno was at the front, waving their tentacle forward and chirping orders to cease this village.

Roleplay posts: 21
Age: Twenty-five
Appearance: Cilanthra is a muted green in color, with scales across the entirety of her body. Her under-scales are a light brown and go down to the tip of her tail. Her eyes are unknown as they cannot be observed, but it is known that her snakes have coal black eyes, one was able to be observed quite nicely when it was cut off. Most of the snakes are still trapped under the iron helmet praise the High One. Her fangs are quite large, but due to the helmet she is unable to properly utilize them.
The helmet is made of iron, and due to her nature as part fey it is quite effective to containment of her vile natures. It has a full visor that covers her eyes completely and is sealed to the face, the latter part that covers the lower jaw is iron lattice wiring that prevents her from opening her jaw completely and being able to lunge and bite anyone. Jarring motions will make the iron dig into her scales and flesh, therefore she will not make use of her head as a ram. The metal is enchanted with runes that will make every bit of damage taken cause the helmet to shrink and dig into the scales.
As a result of several instances of evasion and subordination the Medusa has had several instances of the iron mask shrinking upon impact, attempts to destroy, and rust damage. This was anticipated and the mask has only dug into scales and caused major amounts of chaffing.
Her clothing is rudimentary, and probably fashioned from dead goat's skin. It's fairly conservative in nature and covers everything adequately, but it's nothing to look at.
Equipment: Subject has a small locket, attempts to commandeer said locket were more trouble then they were worth, and just intended with pain taken from both sides. Cilanthra will take that damned thing to her grave.
Skills and Abilities: When contact is made with her two core eyes the target is slowly turned to stone over a course of five minutes. The process is only reversible if the process is not completed. The subjects skin is turned to stone first, following with the muscles, vital organs, and lastly the brain. Eyes are also last to turn, as they are required for the transfer to take place.
The snakes on her head that make up her "hair" are capable of stunning a victim if they make eye contact, but are incapable of doing lasting damage outside of psychological.
Her strength is sub par in her upper body, with the only real abilities lying in that of her tail, which is quite well adapted to crushing.
Her venom is paralyzing to most muscles and intense amounts will cause cardiac arrest. Victims can still talk however, at least in minor doses.

Throughout the chaos that had washed onto the shores of the village, the third visitor came upon the scene. She was small, thin, and wiry. Her body was serpentine, and slithered accordingly scales a muted green with dusty brown undertones. The only difference from the normal snake folk from whence she heralded was the rusted iron box clamped over her head, that and her clothes which looked to be that of goat skin with a rather conservative nature to her.
She was frantic, she could sense that the weather was wrong. There was something of an uncanny feel to it. As such things came to be, she slithered closer to the warmth of the village. She would have moved quicker, but the iron visor did not give her sight so she had to be slow and calculating.
The cursed serpentine came from the back of the village, keeping her head high off the ground and using her hands to feel closer. The closer she claimed the more ragged she looked, and if anyone were to see her, well it would be a concerning sight.

Vulx tore through the forest, past the snake-woman, most not giving her a glance. A few were startled by her presence and gave her a wide berth, but she was soon forgotten in the middle of the panic. Nefero had been grabbing villagers and putting them in the treehouses they built before he noticed the creatures riding the waves, and that caused a whole new round of goose pimples to tickle his skin. He ushered them inland, away from the beach entirely, told them not to stop running even when their lungs were aflame from strain.
It was here that he saw the only figure that wasn't running away from Nunnalo, but towards it. The duralam's eyes widened with fear. She wasn't one of the villagers, and in fact, she was a snake. Such things preyed on Kor'dura, but Nefero? Nefero was not afraid of snakes, and he was a hero. Heroes saved everyone.
Without any more thought, he dove through the trees, a hand reaching out to grab the llamia's. "What are you doing!?" he cried out. "There are big waves! And monsters!"

The swarm of jellyfish started dragging downed people into the water. Some of them were hungry and wanted a taste of these people. They screamed for help as they were draged below the waves.
Reno, in all their cute glory, grabbed a stick and ordered their friends to continue. They chirped encouragement, untill they spotted someone trying to help the civilians.
Reno climbed high up into a tree and screeched, like a parakeet wailing. They ordered their two friends to flank their leader, a normal Synch and a humanoid.
A humanoid snapped jellyfish, that looked almost like a regular human male, with normal clothes and everything, but they had a scarf that covered their mouth. This scarf however was alive, and had a tube like shape with tiny tendrils coming out of one end. The other side was attached to their neck. It was tongue liked, and writhed around them tasting the air.
They threw their stick to try and distract Vulx and the three jumped, landing on the water with a splash. They charged forward, ready to help their comrades.

When Vulx came closer he noticed llamia she quite was not. Her jaws were visible, but her jaws were serpentine, and most certainly not human in nature. However, they were hindered. Her jaws half open as the iron mask held it from opening. The lass was out of sorts, the noise and washing sounds confusing her deeply.
She coughed and gasped, her eyes unable to see, as she spoke to her new acquaintance, "I, I am sorry! I do not know, I cannot see, I cannot see...there's so many sounds..."
The thing coughed as her snake's tail lashed slightly and she groaned in hunger and pain, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I do not know how to help...I just want to stay somewhere safe...there's something coming, coming fast, I can feel it..."
The jellies and their cries blended into the sounds of the tsunami for her, so she knew them not.

"Do not help, just run- er, slither!"
The details of the snakewoman's face eluded him in his panic. Nefero was already a hopeless fool, never mind where his brain was among the buzz. Further still, the roaring of waves in his ears pushed a knife of fear deep into his gut. When he looked back, he saw the waves towering above them. Since when were they that close!?
Unfurling his great wings, the duralam warrior wrapped his arms around the waist of the scaled damsel and pushed off of the ground with a mighty leap. Though just barely, he was able to take off with them both, aiming for a great oak further in the distance that many of the villagers were climbing. He felt his muscles strain, unused to carrying twice his weight with half the air he generally needed to take off. Clumsily, they tumbled into the massive branches of the oak, just as the waves crashed into it halfway. Though the old tree creaked, it held firm, rebelling against the angry sea.
Nefero took no hesitation in unfurling the bronze javelin from his back, holding it out with a howl to the creatures before him. He thumped his chest and snarled:
"Come! Fight someone who can defend himself instead of being cowards, you monsters!"

The 3 synchs charged forward. Reno themselves ordered their comrades around with chirps and signs. They seemed to understand and all three dived under the water.
Most of the people managed to get loose from the synchs, as they were pretty space and not strong enough to drag most of them. A few unlucky souls however were being pulled down, too weak to fight them back.
With a screech they jumped out of the water. The humanoid used their prehensile 'scarf' and threw Reno at Nefero, who was holding a stick in their large arm. They swung their branch like a knife, trying to scratch him with their sharp end.
Their other synch friend dived out of the water and started climbing the tree, trying to sneak attack from behind.

Nefero did not know the word fear.
Fools often didn't.
He opened his wings, brandishing the javelin, and dove down toward the first synch to approach him. Just before the branch was swiped at him, he veered sharply to the left in an attempt to dodge it, then flared his wings and straightened his body to swing his momentum so that he was attacking from behind the synch.
During this time, the other synch missed Nefero, who had abandoned the tree to fight in the open, as was his strength, and was now facing a dozen vulx who crowded around the snake-woman, fangs and claws brandished.

As Reno landed in the water from the painful blow of the javelin he stopped, and stared at his comrades with their beady eyes.
The synchs reacted by screeching loudly as they saw their leader being critically hurt. One alone was not loud, but with the swarm's numbers it became earsplitting. Reno saw what their friends where doing and did the same out of instinct. People covered their ears from the painful sound.
This however would be the undoing of them and their village. From the depths a 'monster' woke.
Reno stopped screeching and began ordering their friends to grapple Nefero with signs. A few jumped towards him, trying to dog pile him and drag him into the water.
The humanoid started throwing wet sand at Nuferto, flinging it at him and the vulx protecting the snake person.
