Appearance: Maribel is a towering, broad-shouldered woman with skin as pale as polished ivory. Though she has a square jaw and sharp, piercing features, there is a way about her movements that retains a soft, delicate manner.
She has yellow eyes like a cat's with impressively large pupils, becoming pitch black in the absence of light or when she spots something particularly fascinating. Her hair is predominantly white with a few strands of black beneath the layers, similar to how hair changes as humans age.
_______________________________________________________
Equipment: A bladed whip is the last surviving weapon in Maribel's repertoire after the great flood. Other than that, she has the crystal ball, which is little more than a toy now in the mists.
_______________________________________________________
Skills and Abilities: Transformation:
Maribel's vampiric curse can allow her to change her form into several distinct shapes: a shaggy black dog, a humanoid bat creature, and an oily snake, none of which are smaller than Maribel's human form.
Her senses and natural strength are heightened considerably at night and gutter just as significantly during the day. She has excellent night vision that causes her to be blinded completely in the presence of the sun. If in direct contact with sunlight, she burns.
The Correa family's shared ability is that which to create loyal thralls without having to sire them into vampires. Thralls are created with a bite, and sired vampires are created with a bite that doesn't kill the victim, and then feeding the victim the vampire's blood. Thralls share a portion of the vampire's strength and can still walk freely in the sun, though with a newly found disdain for it.

"No need."
Emerging from behind the tents was a tall, broad-shouldered woman. Though her height wasn’t as prodigious as that of the Faceless, she carried an air of strength and command. Despite her handsome features, the woman moved with a haunting grace, as though every step and every flicker of her lids was well thought out and with purpose. Stranger yet, none of those steps made a sound. No part of her did until she chose to. “I am Maribel, Matriarch of House Correa. If I heard correctly, you are the Faceless, correct?”
With a flicker of her eyes, the vampire exchanged glances with Huey. He gave a deep bow and came to her side, rattling off their individual names as he remembered them. The woman nodded. “Very good. Do I speak to you primarily, Crown of Fingers?”

Age: 80+
Appearance: Around 9ft tall with a body visually composed of a red marbled fleshy substance and hard bony plates, three legs terminating in roughly spherical nubs, a tall spire of meat where a head is located on a human, near the top of this spire is a vaguely humanoid mask devoid of most facial features. At the top of the spire are eight fully functional fingers. No visible eyes, ears, nose or mouth.
Equipment: A 10ft pole comprised of tough wood with homunculus carapace on both ends
Skills and Abilities: Due to their alien biology their internal antenna allows them to perceive the world based entirely on waves, airwaves for shape and sound and lightwaves for colour as well as other wavelengths but I doubt anyone's going be using radios or microwaves, another trait shared by all faceless is their ability to learn voraciously, they are capable of learning by observation, mimicking activities, reading, hearing and eating things, furthermore they are capable of growing new body parts to solve problems though this needs time to analyse the problem, gather and consume organic material and then grow the part the process can take up to days depending on the size and complexity of the part. Their carapace plating is completely disposable and can be safely removed if damaged to a point where it is no longer useful. Faceless also struggle to feel pain which helps when they remove parts of themselves to upgrade or replace thus is due to their decentralised nervous system. Furthermore the faceless can safely eat and digest any organic matter even if it's horribly rotten as they are naturally immune to infections due to their tendency to simply devour whatever's infecting them. Crown of Fingers can expel a stream stream of corrosive acids a short distance and can of course grip things with it's decorative crown.
Biography: A former Slave unsure of it's place in the universe, Crown of Fingers is one of many faceless that was lost by in the mist, they acted as a general construction overseer before the mist however they lack any sense of aesthetics as they used to simply instruct others to instructions. At the time of the flood they and other faceless were in transit to a separate colony.

"You speak with any, I not control, but I translate, other faceless not know much of trueborn voice." Another burst of chittering came from the decorated creature as the some of the faceless left the fire, to explore the town.
"Are you ruler of this place?" Crown of Fingers asked while Scavenger of Flesh's quills quivered in the air.

Maribel nodded in response to Crown of Fingers' claim. "Very well. I will mind you all in this conversation."
When asked if she was the leader, the vampiress put on a placid smile. "Of the Correa Coterie, a camp right through the woods, yes. Of this encampment, no. Not yet. It is a possibility that I will come to oversee the people here, as their leaders have vanished and they seek stability and safety. If they so wish, I can give it to them, but that will be up to these people. They have seen so much sadness."
Her eyes darted between them, taking each alien being in one by one. Fascinating.

"Sadness is common." Crown of Fingers mentioned. "It can be guessed Trueborn here not happy to be here, taken from home?"
Scavenger of Flesh made a foul gurgling whisper like an aqueduct clogged with rotting offal, this prompted Herds Cattle to step back slightly as Crown of Fingers flexed it's crest with intrigue.
"We come to help people here, why do you come Reborn? And why small Trueborn not act like other Trueborn in sight of Faceless?"

“I assume that’s one of the reasons, with the most prevalent being the death of their companions and family members. Witnessing such things must have been traumatic. There is no tincture for grief.”
Maribel’s voice was soothing and understanding, but not crestfallen. There was the utmost amount of confidence in her tone and mannerisms, along with a calm few other trueborn- or, as she noticed in their speech, reborn had- regarding them. This did make the woman chuckle. “Huey is a very good boy who has seen many things at a young age.” She took a hand and slid it down the side of the child’s face, prompting him to lean into it in the same way a cat would. His face was filled with drowned bliss. “Though you are one of the more bizarre things we’ve witnessed, you are far from the most horrifying. Your forms are quite pleasant. Who were your makers?”

Herds Cattle took note of Huey's euphoric expression, it unearthed rather morbid memories, faces twisted from panic or lifelessness into unnatural glee after exposure to sap or spores or whatever, the shift from Huey's dead stare to this bliss was...disquieting to the former slave wrangler.
"False Speak not needed." Crown of Fingers assured. "We know we are hated, Old Masters ensures Faceless are never welcome open armed."
She was asking about the Empyreans, this was displeasing, it was never an easy topic. Herds Cattle made a squelching remark about the familiarity of Huey's expression, the foreman morph decided to refrain from translating unless pressed.
"Old Masters were...bad, bring pain for own joy, break spirits, torture flesh, Old Masters know shimmer secrets well, only use it for hurting, bind Faceless thoughts, make slaves, make thralls. I hope, all Old Masters fill with pain." Crown of Fingers trailed, it's grinding voice carried a mixture of smouldering hate, cold damp grief and a profound tiredness, as though it had not been at ease for a long time.

A glimmer of amusement lit up Maribel's eyes. "You claim my words as false, but you would be mistaken. I do not find ugliness in one's appearance, only in one's manner. The 'Trueborn' may be hesitant, but they have not seen what we have seen. They do not know what we know. Even a butterfly can be frightening to an infant, and that is what many of them are. Young and afraid, frail, looking for guidance." She took a seat and hoisted Huey up onto her lap. He leaned back onto her and closed his eyes, as though to sleep.
After listening to Crown of Fingers once more, the woman nodded. "You were slaves. I once knew such a life, long ago. We are kindred as such. I cannot imagine such a thing will happen to you here, you poor darlings."
Maribel's voice was riddled with a slight bit of alarm and concern, as true as any mother's voice would be. She held Huey and bounced him on her leg. "You do not run from them any longer, am I correct? You have killed them all, as is your right."

"No." Crown of Fingers spoke, "We could not kill, Faceless thoughts only become unbound here. We had not escape. We sent away to be broken and made twice."
Crown of Finger's voice had flared up at the bitter memory, sapience had brought many revelations, some less pleasant than others. "Other Faceless still there in old lands. Ash plains, glass lakes, golden deserts, even if..." the Faceless made an odd gritty wheezing sound like shifting sand that may have been a sigh.
"Even if Faceless were unbound we could not kill old masters, you not know of them, you from unmolested lands, you not know of Iron Ring, even slaves not have done that."

“You would be correct; I know nothing of your particular situation. That you can’t help the rest of your kin while you are stranded here is a tragedy, but the floods came for us all. If they did not escape, then…” Maribel trailed off, casting her eyes downward. No one knew what happened to those trapped in the mist.
“No matter. You seem peaceful, so you are welcome to stay. The people here are very frightened, but I will reassure them. I don’t imagine this will be very difficult, as you’ve already made a friend.”
In the distance, behind one of the tents, was the guard they encountered at the entrance, nibbling away at a fruit that they’d given him. Maribel smiled warmly, then asked, “Do you need a place to stay? Quarters. For now, we only have tents, if that would suffice.”

The Homunculus paused to think for a moment, these people were to not put to fine a point on it, doing horribly, it was hard to tell if they had resources to spare, they were clearly unsettled and had formed a milittia, but it was difficult to tell how much of their panic was due to displacement from the floods, the presence of the faceless, potential sicknesses, or other more exotic threats.
Crown of Fingers found itself silently bemused at the concept of a threat more exotic than it and it's kindred on these isles, it was certaintly possible but still unlikely, it imagined that interactions between such entities would be...interesting.
Quickly remembering that it had not yet aswered for it's kindred Crown Of Fingers raised a hand to decline.
"Place not needed, Trueborn and you weaker than faceless, need shelter more. We know day that burns and night that chills. This land is good to us. We thankful for kindness."

"Very well."
As she rose, Maribel lowered Huey to the ground and pat the back of his head. "We shall be off. There is much to do for the night and much to prepare for in the future. Do be careful in case the mist comes back. It has been hungry." With a small incline of her head, she turned, and was off. She and the child exchanged looks before they were out of eyesight through the bush and to the Correa Coterie, leaving the Faceless on their own.
... well, not so much. If they looked very carefully and were expecting it, they would find the eyes of the children in the woods and through the tents, but they were hellishly good actors, strolling as nonchalantly as possible, or otherwise dead still in the woods.

A few of the faceless gurgled with what was presumably laughter as they considered the possibility of something being hungrier than a faceless, the idea was folly! Turns Pages however was less concerened with omnivorous atmospheres, much more so with the silouhettes it's eyes could pick out in the undergrowth, it made a few quiet alien vocalisations to Crown of Fingers. The taller tripod didin't verbally respond, but it's crown curled in acknowledgement.
