Biography: Anastasia Parker was born into a splintered family. Her father was involved with people who her mother deemed 'not the best', and she sought to keep Ana away from these people. However, Ana dearly loved her father and often accompanied him on his seafaring adventures.
Anastasia's father taught her the fine art of crafting poisons and calculating doses. Ana was always drawn to the technical aspects of the craft - how much of one thing went where, how to use the poison, what made it most effective - but paid apt attention to her father's lessons. She learned how to hunt by land and by sea, and her father also taught her to protect herself from his acquaintances, who thought of her as 'just another girl' before they realised she was his daughter.
Anastasia grew distant from her mother and her half-brother, Constantine, who was born when she was fourteen. When living with them, she experimented with poisons to the point of nearly killing her brother - which she felt no remorse about and merely shrugged off when asked what had happened. She had been curious, and that was all. No harm had been done. William could learn to deal with a little vomit. She never poisoned anyone to the point of death, but sometimes, if she didn't like someone, she would slip one of her fine crafts into someone's food or drink and smile to herself as it took effect.
As she got older, her father's 'colleagues' became a bit more rowdy with her, and she began to avoid them. She even poisoned them when she felt like it, and when her father found out, he disallowed her from coming to sea with him for months on end. By the time her 'grounding' was over, she had a simmering irritation for most of the people on the ship, sometimes including her own father.
By the time she was twenty-two, she was expected to care for her now-ailing mother and spend more time on land... and that simply wouldn't do. Rather than doing the expected, she took a job at the local apothecary and worked up enough money to buy a small boat and supplies, and as soon as she could, she set off.
She fully intended to live a solitary life at sea, but when the mists came, it seemed that would not be the case. After days of sailing in the midst of damp fog, she finally made landfall in the Mistborne Isles, and she supposed that, perhaps, it might be a good idea to rest... For now.

Hi, everyone! I'm Azrael. I've RPed for about four years now, I think, and I'm very excited to get to RP here. My character is Anastasia Parker, who I am currently revising and adding on to, and I'm more than ready to start RPing as her.

Age: -----------------------------------------------------------
Elder l'eina
-----------------------------------------------------------
Appearance: Upon first sight, Herald’s size is generally noted. She is no small creature, from head to tip she stretches out to be over seven feet tall, but her exact size is unknown. The next thing that is noticed is that she is not human, such giveaways are as follows: the mass of sucker-laden tentacles, her lack of hair, her brilliantly colored skin, her finned ears, her red eyes, the slimy webbing that hangs around her form, and other obvious reasons.
Herald’s coloration is a vibrant red typically, but other colors may be seen depending on her mood if she is hiding or hunting prey. When she ‘speaks’, an array of triangular yellowed points can be seen.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Skills and Abilities: > Skills:
Mystic: Herald could be considered a sea hag, priestess, or shaman. She is able to read tides, skies, and winds able to make weather predictions from these factors which in turn allows her to deduce if conditions will or will not be favorable. Beyond this, she carries with her a small pouch of pure white hand bones that she uses to ‘read’ situations or the future. Her predictions aren’t always correct, but they have aided the Tueima. She is a spiritual individual and knows the various religious rituals and rites of the Tueima.
Doula: Trained in the reproductive health of the l'eina, Herald often is called upon to aid with birthings or egg-layings. Herald is extremely knowledgeable about things such as in birth control, child-rearing, or even non-reproductive experiences such as being present when one is dying.
Oral Historian: Herald has been around for a long time and she knows the songs and stories of their people, often recounting them to the delight of the tender fins.
Pictographs: When dealing with surface dwellers, Herald communicates with sticks and sand. She draws pictures of what she is trying to convey. There are no promises that the Herald is any good at this, merely that she knows how to do this with some success prior.
> Abilities:
Open Wide: Like any member of the cephalopod family, the Herald hunts by surprising her prey and enveloping them in her mass. Then her seemingly human-looking mouth extends, flaps of skin stretching until it displays a sharp yellow and black pointed beak deep in her ‘throat’.
Bioluminescent: The umbrella crown of her head is reminiscent of a man o’ war. On will, this area can glow faintly.
Hidden in Plain Sight: Using her chromatophores and her natural ability to change the texture of her skin, Herald is able to blend into her surroundings with great effect. This is how she hunts for prey.
Water Bound: Herald cannot stay for long periods of time, due to the mass of her body and squishy physical anatomy on land. However, her gills allow her to be above the waves. She can stay on land for short periods of time, up to an hour before she needs to return to the depths. More than three hours on land without water will cause the Herald to die.
Kraken’s Strength: Herald is strong, possessing heavy thick tentacles ripe with suckers of various sizes coating them. This nasty combination allows Herald to smash open shells and rip apart thick objects with ease under the water. She is not as strong as she once was, but she is still a mighty foe in the depths. On land, it is much harder for her to utilize this strength.
l'eina: Like all l'eina, Herald can breathe underwater, swim easier than she can walk. She is a carnivore and can only eat meat, but does partake of other substances to commune with the tides. She cannot speak in the tongues of man, lacking the right anatomy to speak.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Biography: Herald has existed in the Tueima for as long as many of the l'eina remember. She has acted as a spiritual member and historian of the community, happy to answer questions by those with inquiring young minds. Herald is deeply committed to her community, almost overly so like an overprotective mother. Perhaps that is why she is so wary of those who traipse upon the lands above, instead of swimming in the seas.
