Appearance: Tiny and lithe, Ti'el is as spritely as the desert fox that she resembles. Two brown, tall ears sit atop her head in a nest of messy blonde hair. Spots of dark melanin decorate her face, stretching from the inside of her eyes down the bridge of her nose. They also freckle the back of her neck, her arms, and her stomach.
Though her body is predominantly human, her feet do end in dainty paws. Stretching from her lower back is an incredibly fluffy, golden tail with a hazel stripe down the middle.
Her eyes are a dark, washed-out blue, making it difficult to tell whether her pupils are slit or round.

Skills and Abilities: Though she does not enjoy combat, Ti'el is a fine hunter by nature. Small animals and insects cannot escape her grasp when her stomach when she is hankering for a meal, and sometimes even larger prey, perhaps even deer, will find themselves in danger from the vulx's claws. She has incredible hearing, good enough to detect prey underground, and can survive with very little water for long amounts of time. She has a fantastic resistance to heat but suffers greatly in cold climates. Though not strong, Ti'el is very agile and swift. Scaling trees or skirting through a forest is no difficult task for her.

Though curious, Ti'el seemed pleased that Renaux relented. The robed figures nodded at one another and presented the hut once more, then began to hurry off towards their own respective homes.
The vulx held up a hand to poke at the man's cheeks before she retreated inside the hut, lips pursed as she pondered. "Are you with fever?" she asked. Her ears flicked. "Your face is warm and pink. Should I ask the strangers for medicine?"

"I'm fine." Renaux responded to her concern as politely as he could considering the heat in his cheeks. His voice stiff and formal as he took a deep breath. "I... Men and women do not typically sleep in the same room together unless they are married where I come from." He informed her as he tried to figure out how he was going to manage this without inadvertently seeing something that only Ti'el's spouse should be viewing.

Ti'el held one finger up to her mouth and tapped her lips in thought at Renaux's explanation. "I knew of this marriage. My people practiced it, but in a very different way. There is no party, but soon, the children will roam to other dens and find a mate. If they are accepted, then they will be welcomed into the den and have lots of children." She laughed and patted Renaux on the shoulder. "This season does not bring with it my inclinations. You are safe! I do not lose control so easily, see? I am like you, a human, not like a beast." She held up her hands, splaying out her fingers. The vulx then shrugged past him into the hut. "I wonder why is it that they want us inside so badly, not to come out all night?"

"I... Well, it is not usually women people are worried about behaving themselves. But I will also keep my hands to myself." At this point, his cheeks were a brilliant scarlet and he turned away from her to try and hide that. He as, a little, worried about Neige who he had left on the outskirts of the village but he trusted the pegasus to keep herself safe when he wasn't around. While she wasn't large by warhorse standards, because no pegasus was as large as a destrier, she was still trained and as fierce as one.
"As for why they want us to stay inside through the night... I have no idea. There is something odd about these people. It is not just a difference in custom." How quickly this village had come up, how easily they seemed to be able to use magic, and the robes which would make the farm work they were doing more cumbersome than needed. It was all quite strange and he suspected that the answer lay in what was under those robes.

Ti'el sniffed around the cot and checked the corners in a manner that was becoming of her nature. She inspected the expert weaving of the bamboo layered one over the other until it blocked all the sun from the seams. She then inspected the cots, which were made of a variety of feathery and straw downs. It was more comfortable than anything she'd slept on in months, even before the flood. As day turned to night, she sat down on the right side cot, curling her legs up to her chest. "Is magic not so easily done where you come from?" she then asked, looking up. "Or is it more difficult here? I thought I couldn't summon the winds anymore because I was tired and hungry, but even when I was feeling better... nothing."

Renaux had stripped down to just his gambeson and hose, laying out his armor next to his bed alongside his sword. Pegasus knights did not, traditionally, have squires. Aspiring knights attended the academy instead and since a pegasus knight could be called on to go out on solo scouting missions. These factors meant that his armor was built to be easy to put on without assistance and the way he was laying it out was something trained into him at the academy. If there was an emergency he could get the entire suit back on within three minutes even in pitch darkness.
"From what I understand."
The young man said as he finished what he was doing and then moved to wash some of the dirt from his hands and face using a small bowl.
"It is harder to do in these lands. I am not a mage myself so I do not know the specifics but that's what I was told. My lands were actually quite rich in magic, Gauldin was famed for its airships. We had the most impressive aerial force in the world."
Isra may have one day rivaled it but the empire hadn't even been founded yet in this Renaux's time. Its meteoric rise from a single city to the most powerful empire in the world a few years away yet.

Ti'el did stare as the man undressed, but only because she found the intricacies of removing armor interesting. There were so many layers and buttons and other such things to unlatch, much like the puzzle boxes her old tutor would give her when she was learning. Often, she would hide a treat inside of them so she would be further incensed to get inside of it. Nevertheless, her manners were lost upon doing so.
"That is unfortunate. I am small and frail and I am not a warrior, so I cannot do much without magic," she lamented. "You know, I made that flower you rescued me from! The big one! That was before we came here. I am proud of it. I've never made something quite so large before!" The vulx twirled around and hopped onto her bed, laying on her back. "I am sad, thinking that I might not do it ever again."
Curling up, Ti'el felt her muscles relax and her stomach grumble. Even if they'd just eaten, she had spent so long cooped up like a pickle with hardly anything in her stomach. The fatigue was catching up to her.
"But it is better to be here now... right? Instead of in a flower."
Her lids began to close, and her breathing became steady.

"I did not know you made the flower. But that is quite impressive."
Renaux said as he gave the young woman a gentle smile. There was still an element of nervousness about him, his cheeks tinged pink from the undercurrent of embarrassment he felt. But now that he was as undressed as he was going to get he felt a bit better about things as he laid out on his own cot.
"And yes, it is unfortunate that much of the magic of the old world will be lost. But I think you are right, better to be here alive than on a flower doomed to sink to the bottom of the sea."
With that, he closed his own eyes and soon drifted off to sleep. That was most definitely a trick you learned in the military, sleep was precious and if you couldn't get yourself into a state where it could find you then you needed to learn to get to a state where you found it.

Late into the night, when the sun dipped completely beneath the horizon and the stars spread across the sky, Ti’el found her eyes fluttering open.
One of her ears was twisted around completely, facing the door. Curious, as she often was, she pushed herself up groggily so she was sitting up, tail curled around her knees. The vulx peered suspiciously as the door and directed both ears toward it, trying to figure out what exactly woke up her up that night.
And there it was:
Faintly, so faintly, there was the beating of a drum.
Fully awake now, the vulx rolled onto her feet and pressed her ear to the door. She squeezed into the corner, attempting to see out of the cracks, but she could see nothing else but the faintest spheres of light in the distance.
She looked to her left, at the knight.
“Renaux?” she rasped. “You are awake, yes?”

"Yes."
Renaux said softly, he didn't move from where he was laying on his bed but he'd come awake when she'd started to move. He'd heard the drums a few moments later and he'd tried his best to focus on the noise coming from outside the tent.
"It would seem our hosts enjoy a midnight gathering."
This could, potentially, be a problem for them he didn't have enough information as he pushed himself up and looked at the entrance to the tent.
"I imagine that they asked us to stay in our tent because they do not wish us to see whatever it is they are doing."
He murmured softly, curiosity was a natural thing but their hosts had shown them nothing but civility. Intruding on what might be a religious ceremony against their explicit directions would be incredibly rude. Of course, it was easy to imagine that it was something more sinister going on which would make not looking feel foolish when their tent was attacked in some fashion.
