Appearance: Big, wavy red hair, large red eyes, and lengthy antennas sticking out the top of this Diriposa's head makes her hard to miss. Add all that to the giant, Noble Leafwing butterfly wings on her back and you can see her coming from a mile away.
Skills and Abilities: Sensitive Pheromone Reader: Estrella is an expert at picking up and sensing others' emotional states through their pheromones. While this could have many uses, she usually uses it to match up couples who she senses are right for one another.
The Diriposa Pheromone: Diriposa mix pheromones in their perfumes. It's mostly used to alter one's state of mind. But typically the pheromones are to promote calmness and have a recreational use to give a sense of bliss. But sleepiness, arousal, even hunger, and sadness can be caused. They also use pheromones defensively, so they have repellants that trigger disgust or cause stress and keep hostile creatures out of their area.

Appearance: Tall and lean, James is a handsome young man with fair, pale skin, raven hair, and piercing blue eyes. Muscled and scarred from the hard life he has been forced to lead he is willing to face trouble and meet it blow for blow to defend what he has left to call his own.

Equipment: Despite hard times the family has retained some of its wealth and materials. James wears a fine set of clothes, black riding boots, loose grey pants, a dark blue buttoned shirt, black vest, and a dark grey overcoat. A fine cloak hangs from his shoulders, kept in place by a beautiful pin, a ring of blue topaz surrounding a circular piece smoked quartz crystal both set in silver. On his ring is his father’s ring, and his father before him, a beautiful dark iron piece set with one large and four smaller black opals.
At his waist hangs one of his families remaining treasures, Void-dancer, his family’s magical broadsword, once a mighty weapon it’s power is now bound if still present.
On his shoulder hangs his pack and his instrument, a worn but lovingly maintained guitar. Stashed in his pack with traveling gear is a breastplate and various pieces of armor for when the days get grim and the mornings get bloody.

Skills and Abilities: Practically raised with Void-dancer in his hand, James is an excellent swordsman and happy to meet enemies blade to blade.
Generions of attempting to unlock the swords sealed potential has lead the Deepwinter family down the path of enchanters and while it may not have entirely had the desired effect it has proved a lucrative undertaking.
And while on The road a decent portion of his life, James has picked up some rudimentary skills for maintenance of his equipment. Basic smithing and tailoring skills have allowed him to keep his gear in if not great condition then good condition.
Of much less practical use is his not inadequate skill with the careworn guitar he carries as close to his heart as the old ring on his finger and the sword at his hip.

Equipment: Ancestral Sword: An ancient sword passed down in the Valgard family for generations. It is made of a dark, unknown metal. Ralf could potentially channel magical powers through the blade, but he has yet to discover the possibility.
Steel Longsword: Ralf's preferred weapon of choice.
Hirhanic Shield: Ralf's special shield, a gift from his friend Hirhan. It can absorb magical attacks and kinetic energy, to be redirected at his will.
Mariah's Dagger: A magical dagger than can sap magical power from opponent's. Taken from the corpse of Mariah.
Ki'Gar: A traditional garment worn by the Varan. Ralf wears his like a scarf, but other Varan may wear them as capes, sashes, head-dresses, and more. Ralf's is blue, with white trimming, and white wolf's head in the center. The name VALGARD is spelled beneath it. Ki'Gars are knitted from Buunvar hide, making them resistant to damage as well as fireproof.

Skills and Abilities: Warrior: Ralf is a strong and capable warrior, preferring to use a sword-and-shield combination in combat. Ralf's fighting style focuses on speed, agility, and opportune striking. He wields his sword and shield with impressive dexterity, and complements his style with the powers of his Hirhanic Shield.
Cure of the White Wolf: As per his bloodline, Ralf is cursed with a form of lycanthropy. He transforms into a werewolf, whose hide is nigh-invulnerable and resistant to damage. His speed, strength, and reflexes are greatly increased. Ralf has learned to repress his instincts, but he will unleash the creature if necessary.

Biography: Ralf is the son of Volrun Valgard, the original heir to the throne of Valland. Volrun was killed in battle at Gripclaw Pass, but his lover Aesa Jojora returned to Asgeir pregnant. Ralf was born and his mother would rule as regent until he came of age.
Ralf, however, opted to travel the world in search of adventure, fame, and wealth. He also wanted to prove his worth, as his rivals criticized his bastard birth.
Ralf is well-traveled, and a highly experienced combatant, explorer, and survivalist. His friend Hirhan created the Hirhanic Shield for him. He also looted a magical dagger from the corpse of Mariah.
Ralf has opted to build a bustling trade hub for his people and allies on the Mistbourne Isles called the Twin Cities, straddling the Ildesian Strait.

He wasn't the strongest kid so he turned to pickpocketing and trucking others so he could survive, when he hit the age of 7, he was failed to steel from an old man who after seeing asadrack trying to fight his guards with a broom, using it as a makeshift spear, decided to adopt and train asadrack properly after seeing t fire in asadrack eyes. Skills and Abilities: He can create weapons and tools, his dark figure makes it perfect for stealth but he have to close his eyes, he can be a very convincing person if he so desires.
Biography: Unable to have kids, Void's parents struck a deal with an old man that always met them in dark alley, promising them a child, the result of this deal was a black, shadowy, Inky like baby, the parents, as they agreed, would have the first twelve years of the child's life and the old man the rest. After the time was up, Void left of his own will and was trained in how to use his abilities by a voice that was always with him, once the training was concluded he decided that the voice wasn't useful anymore and stopped listening.

Appearance: Melana is tall for a woman, standing at 5'9", and has a generally slender frame that is, nonetheless, abundantly curvaceous, with rounded hips and.. large tracts of land. Her hair is long and formed of loose curls, falling past the small of her back, although she usually wears it in a braid, and is a rich earthy brown color. Perhaps her most striking features are her vivid amethyst eyes and her slightly pointed ears, denoting her half-Fae heritage. Her features are expectedly somewhat elfin, with a small, delicate nose that is slightly upturned at the tip, full lips that are usually smiling, high cheekbones, and pale skin, with a smattering of freckles across her nose and upper cheeks that she inherited from her father. Her hands have fingers that are almost too long to be normal, weathered from years of digging for artefacts and usually stained with ink from her rapacious note taking habits. She tends to wear blouses with a tie about the neck and a fitted vest, a long-tailed coat with an abundance of pockets, and a long skirt divided for ease of mobility and riding horses (when necessary), as well as a pair of sturdy heeled lace-up boots that rise just above her ankles.

Equipment: Melana always carries a satchel that was magically enlarged on the inside many years ago, allowing her to carry not only her many notebooks, but any artefacts she may discover while carrying out her scholarly pursuits. It also contains her numerous fountain pens and spare pots of ink, and pretty much anything else she may take into her head to stuff into it. She carries several daggers of varying lengths on her person at all times, hidden up her sleeves, in her vest, attached to the belt around her waist, and in the tops of her boots, as well as a couple in holsters around her thighs.

Skills and Abilities: Melana is a scholar by nature, with a keen mind and a sharp wit. She also knows how to use the knives she carries, but prefers not to do so unless it's absolutely necessary. She can draw, dance, sing, ride horses (when she has to), and has a natural gift for performing acts of sleight of hand. She also speaks a number of languages, and has a knack for figuring out new ones, both written and spoken. She inherited small illusory magics and a bit of pyromancy from her parents, although she doesn't use either very often.

Biography: Melana was born to Mikhal and Morrigan Reeves shortly after the human mage and Fae were married. Mikhal was the leader of the Mages' Guild in the city-state of Jeroden, and her mother was the leader of the the Merchants' Guild. From the beginning, their exuberant and studious daughter had an obsession with discovering things, even if it was just digging up old pots and various trinkets that had been lost around the ancient family estate on the coast. As she aged, it was wholly natural for her to enroll in Jeroden's acclaimed academy, where she honed her academic skills, and pursued her interests in history, language, and archaeology. She was nineteen when she left her parents and younger brother Miles behind to see more of the world, during which she had numerous adventures while pursuing her scholarly interests. It was this that eventually led her to the shores of the Mistborne Isles.

Appearance: Diminutive even for her particular species of Elf, Avarille is exactly five feet tall. She has a delicate bone structure that is rather in opposition to her toned musculature, developed from years of roaming around doing questionably intelligent things. She has hair that falls just past her shoulders and is a brilliant red-gold color, formed into wild curls and generally worn free. She has big brown eyes, so dark that they almost look black, that only make her look more innocent, especially when taken into consideration with her pixie-like features -- full lips that are almost always smiling, a button nose, and the high-arched cheekbones that most species of Elves seem to possess. Typically, she wears a pair of knee-high laced boots in tan, with breeches of the same color, a white shirt beneath a dark brown vest, and an odd short-cut green coat with long sleeves and a hood.

Equipment: Ava carries a short bow and a quiver of arrows on her back, two long knives (the blades themselves are about two feet long) with brown leather-wrapped grips, worn in sheaths at either hip, and a belt with an assortment of pouches carrying spare bowstrings, a whetstone, and various shiny things she picks up during her travels. She carries a satchel where she keeps a length of rope and food supplies.

Skills and Abilities: Ava is an expert archer and an adept combatant. Like most Elves, she is skilled at blending into her surroundings and veritably disappearing when she wants to, especially in the trees. And that's about where her good traits end -- she's hilariously clumsy, especially for an Elf, and can't dance or carry a tune to save her life. A unique ability of the Neluri Elves, of which she is one, is the ability to transform into a feline shape -- in Avarille's case, it's an ocelot.

Biography: Avarille was born in the Plains of Neluri as all her kind were, and she had a relatively happy life. Her mother was kind and gentle, her father stern and duty-driven, but they loved her dearly. She had a fairly carefree childhood, until the day when she was out in the Plains with her best friend, Erevin. A raiding party of Dark Elves appeared and took him captive, nearly getting Ava in the process. She managed to escape, but has lived with the guilt of seeing her best friend taken every day of her life. She had just reached adulthood when her parents announced that she was to marry the son of their peoples' leader, a prospect that horrified Ava, not only because she had no desire to marry, but *especially* not Maldreth Tanir. In the middle of the night, she packed her weapons and some supplies, and left. Venturing beyond the edges of the Plains of Neluri was forbidden to her people, but a need to escape her fate and a desire for adventure led her to do just that. She had many adventures and met many people, but bad luck seemed to plague her wherever she went.. which is what led to her ending up trapped in a box in her feline form, put on a ship, and sent to Goddess only knew where.

Appearance: In terms of stature, Brighitte could best be described as "average" -- she stands at just under five and a half feet tall, with well-proportioned limbs and a nearly plump, curvaceous body. Her skin is pale, as though she's rarely been in the sun, and her hair, which falls just past her shoulders, is a dark color that isn't quite black, but also isn't quite brown -- it seems caught somewhere in between the two, and is threaded with strands of silver that gleam in light. Her eyes are wide and expressive, and are a very dark shade of blue that is also nearly black, set in a face that could best be described as pretty, if not beautiful. At a glance, she's unremarkable, but upon closer inspection, some unquantifiable quality makes her.. intriguing.

Biography: Longer ago than even Brighitte can remember, she was born on an island nation whose name is now lost to time. Her parents were unknown, having left her at the door of the city's orphanage, and she was raised by the kind souls within until she reached adulthood. She got work cleaning the halls of a local mage's dwelling, and that was when her life changed irrevocably. A visitor to her master's home sensed some spark of magic within her, and lured her away with sweet promises of power, success, and his undying love. Unknown to Brighitte, this man had aspirations to take the highest seat of power in the mage's tower that was being constructed on an island just outside the city, and it was there that he took her. He gradually unlocked the well of hidden magic within Brighitte, but she found herself unable to utilize it in any perceptible way. But during her time with him, Brighitte fell in love with him, and this was her downfall. Using her love for him to sway her, he found a way to bind Brighitte's very essence to the bones of the tower, making her the eternal guardian of the tower and the guiding star of the magic users who would dwell within it. And this was Brighitte's existence for uncountable centuries to come.. until the Cataclysm arrived that destroyed her homeland. Including the tower she had protected and served all her unnaturally long life. The tower destroyed, the protections binding her to it were removed, but the longevity she had gained as the Keeper seemed to linger, no doubt due to the magic that was etched into her very bones and soul. As the tower collapsed, Brighitte was cast into the sea, barely keeping adrift on the remains of a door, as she was carried off to lands unknown...

Appearance: In her natural shape, Va'nei is a large green dragon that is seemingly covered with moss and grass. But since the Flood, she has been contained to her human form, and is currently stuck in it. She is roughly five and a half feet tall, with light green hair that falls past her hips, and pale skin that bears a faint green iridescent scale pattern. Her eyes are a vivid shade of gold and hold great intelligence and wisdom due to her long years of life. She wears intricate robes of green and a feathered and beaded headband inlaid with a red gem.

Skills and Abilities: As the Earthwarden, Va'nei is very closely tied to the earth. Even with the magic dampening effects of the mist on the isles, she can feel the "emotions" of plants, and create and control them to a degree, as well as communicate with animals. Her ability to move the earth has been greatly weakened, but still remains. Even in her human shape, she has the keen senses of a dragon, with a powerful sense of smell, excellent hearing, and sharp eyesight.
