The following notices have been posted by Lady Naoki throughout Port Argentium, detailing positions she seeks to fill with willing candidates.
Office of the Beachcomber
This is the position I would most like to see filled promptly. The magic of The Mist is such that individuals wash up on the beach with some regularity. Thusfar, they’ve mostly been standing up and integrating into the settlement by themselves, and eventually, I’ll learn of them and add them to the ledger. However, not all of them will necessarily wash up in good health or with such a drive to be involved, so I’d like to introduce a small office of a few well-meaning folks to keep watch over the beach and tend to these new arrivals.
Responsibilities would include sitting on the beach most hours of the day, watching for individuals or items to wash ashore. In the event that one does, it would then be the responsibility of the Beachcombers to see the individual back to the office, see that they’re in good health, get some basic information from them, introduce them to The Isles and The Port, and perhaps give them some suggestions as to where they might go next.
Ideal applicants would be more or less friendly, know a touch about medicine, and have good handwriting for keeping records.
I’ve an excess of pages at present, so I would hope to assign one or two to assist the Beachcomber on a rotating basis.
Guildmasters
Rather than the Minister-based government of Old Isra, here I hope to trial a Guild-based form of governance, centered on having a small collection of broadly powerful guilds to oversee their respective areas of expertise within the settlement, as well as potentially a few smaller, specialized guilds for lower volume but equally important tasks. These guilds would be led by Guildmasters, who would be free to run their guilds as they’d like within the parameters I set.
Ideally, Guildmasters would have a strong working knowledge of their area of expertise and administrative experience, but one or the other, with the appropriate drive to improve is acceptable.
The guilds that are most certainly needed:
Builder’s Guild
Farmer’s Guild
Adventurer’s Guild
Crafter's Guild
If you have an idea for another guild that isn’t listed, I’m amenable to discussion. Seek me out in the Command Tent.
