Hello and welcome to the thread where I beg people to throw characters at my plots (and offer to throw my characters at your plots). My main project right now is starting up a city in the southeastern desert, because it's free real estate and I think deserts are pretty neat. So, without further ado, the plot bunnies:
1: A City in the Desert: Pretty much just what it says on the tin. I have an original species trying to make a home in the middle of the desert, and I'd love to have some other desert-dwellers join in. Do you like the idea of locust-snake-people living in tunnels? Do you want to murder the creepy locust-snake-people with fire because you hate bugs? Either way, oh boy do I have some plots for you. Do you want to make your own weird little bug person character? I would be overjoyed (however I would also probably drown you in a mountain of lore, so. Fair warning).
2: Get Tśuķ Some Friends: Tśuķ is having a real rough time. The Ķþaśyeźadu (see: the aforementioned bug people) form sort-of psychic bonds in small groups called "Cohorts." Every member of Tśuķ's Cohort was underground when the flood hit, their deaths leaving Tśuķ alone for the first time in centuries. But since Tśuķ is the only living diplomat, they don't have time to stick around and form new bonds with their own kind. I thought it would be an interesting plot if they started following some other traveler around (possibly in a very irritating fashion, and likely not even speaking the same language) before realizing to their shock that they've begun to form a bond with someone who isn't even the same species. This could also be the catalyst for them starting to understand the more typical humanoid languages. Given that the Ķþaśyeźadu would probably look and sound like dangerous pests to most other species, it's probably for the best if they learn some essential vocabulary quickly.
3: Truces and Trades: as a diplomat, Tśuķ will be wandering around trying to secure alliances, or at least assurances of nonaggresssion, from the other settlements. I think it would be cool if the desert city became a sort of waystop for travellers/merchants crossing the desert; an oasis where anyone travelling the southeast by land can rest and restock.
The Ķþaśyeźadu really, really don't like water, so I think it would be interesting if they came in contact with some aquatic or just very water-positive people.
On the other side of things, always feel free to throw your own ideas at me, either here or on discord. I like making plots happen, so tell me what I can do to help flesh out your story and there's a high chance I'll be down for it.
