Fengr ran, not as quickly as he could for he needed to pay attention to his attackers, lifting the shield everytime they tried to attack, soon he noticed that the beasts weren't as aggressive anymore.
Fengr almost tripped running but since he wasn't full speed he managed to keep balance, he looked up, searching for the flying creatures and saw a mass of webs, "Of course there's spiders here ! Why wouldn't they be here ?"
The size of the webs were a bad surprise, Fengr hated those things, back at Midgard, big spiders weren't very common but they definitely were a thing, Fengr usually wouldn't go hunting them in the few times these were a problem.
If the flying beats were to stop following him, Fengr would try to hide and look for the spider so he could plan a escape, looking for the vibrations and following the string with his eyes.
If the beast kept following, Fengr would stop, try to block any attacks than run back the way he came, trying to make his way out of the forest.

Lucrezia Fletcher

Roleplay posts: 25
Appearance: Lucrezia is as fair and fine as any porcelain doll, with her long flaxen hair and painted features. Below the neck, however, is a much different story. Made from the finest metals, forged by the most skillful smiths, woven by the adept hands of an artificer, is a body made of armor. It was put together to seem as slender as any young lady's limbs with the toughness of plate and mail. Though no flesh is interwoven in the design, draping skirts and a cape were added to give her a more approachable, more feminine silhouette. Her eyes are a bright blue and swirl with an ethereal light.
_______________________________________________________
Equipment: Elmar, her ornate war scythe, is a living weapon with two cores, much like herself. He is a fallen warrior with a rigorous amount of life and after-death experience. When held, Elmar can make adjustments to the wielder's body to help them learn how to wield him.
A knife is set into her hip on a scabbard attached to her body in case someone gets too close for the scythe to become useful.
________________________________________________________
Skills and Abilities: Lucrezia is new to the world and thus has little to no skills of her own. Thankfully, she is equipped with a hardy body and the ability to be dismantled completely without dying. The secret to her life lies in her two magical cores which harbor the parts of her soul. Should those be destroyed, so too would Lucrezia die.

The more he ran, the more Fengr would find himself in a maze of spiderwebs. To avoid them, he would have to take lefts and rights that were not planned, stray from anything familiar, and weave a path that would have most people confused and upset by the end of it. All the while, he would hear the silken strands pluck... and... reverberate, like the strings of a fiddle. It only happened when he decided to stray in one place too long. It never sounded like music, not really; more like the creeping steps of a predator.
Daylight was just ahead, and while the forest was black as pitch and heavily infested, nothing seemed too keen on attacking the warrior.
Not today.

Failing to hide from the danger wasn't a surprise, Fengr was a big man and knew more about beating metal than hiding from bests so he ran, just like last time running he didn't went full speed so he wouldn't trip over, as he ran more and more webs got in his way and the single time he stopped to catch his breath the sounds around him made him move again, soon he was out of the forest.
Once out the light of the sun blinded him for a second, than, not to far he spotted Freyr, Baggi and Astrid in the distance, running to the pine forest, he waved and ran to meet them
"Are you okay Fengr ?" Freyr asked him when they met
"Yeah, there were flying beats and spiders but i managed to somehow avoid them," Fengr replied
"That's good." Freyr than raised his voice at the group "So why the hell did you guys thought it was a good idea to risk your lives over pieces of that no one is able to use it ?"
The three people looked down and at eachother, Astrid was the one to speak
"The gantlet, it showed us visions of a mother crying over her dead child than pointed at the other two parts, i thought... I... Sorry."
"I understand now." Freyr sighed "If what you say is true and that gauntlet back at camp showed you the way, I would've done the same so don't apologize, we still need the water, so let's go in and out quickly, silently and with our guards up."
Freyr had his daughter's bow instead of his axe so he stayed behind the group as they moved as a unit to the forest to complete his mission, the barrel wasn't far and neither the lake that fed the river, just like their leader told them they were in and out, one the way back Fengr told the group the whereabouts of the spiders as best as he could so they could avoid it

Variant 3-2
Established
Roleplay posts: 24
Age: Less than 2 years of operation
Appearance: A very sleek, humanoid design, primarily silver in color with bronze accents at the joints as well as along the torso and head areas. Roughly 5'6" tall with a slim body. Blue energy seems to trace lines along the body, though they have slowed and dulled since arriving at the island, with the lines seeming to run outwards from the torso area and towards the extremities.
Equipment: A fully armored body, resulting in limited range of motion, yet high resilience to physical attacks. Two short, thin limbs that can come out of the back. Two tube-like attachments on the underside of its upper arms, with holes in them near the elbows.
Skills and Abilities: The ability to harness magical energy for weaponry, including two short magic blades coming out of the arms and forming above the hands, similar to kama, two quarter-sphere shaped shields that appear out of the limbs attached to the back, or the ability to shoot weak magic missiles from either arm-cannon. The only catch is that only one of these can be active at a time due to the deficiency of magic on the isles due to the mist. It is powered by magic, so any senses or physical traits it would have that might have been considered superior to those of humans are rendered moot, other than an ability to sense magical energy and its use in an area around it. It has an ability to synthesize human speech and can understand a wide variety of human languages.
Biography: The second model of Variation 3 Magikróm produced by Vailas Steelhand, creator of magic-powered robotic automatons. This is the only Variation 3 known to have survived the flood. A general purpose model able to adapt to most commands given. Variation 3 models are the first humanoid model to be crafted by Vailas. Despite its entirely metallic appearance, its movements are...surprisingly fluid and humanoid.

3-2 moved through the forest as quietly as possible, scanning the area for animals that would make a decent meal. After a while, it stops, hunkering down to wait in some underbrush, watching for anything to come near. With little movement, it would not scare away animals through excess noise. After most of an hour, it found nothing, yet it continued to wait.
...It? 3-2 paused for a moment. For some reason, "it"...seemed incorrect. It felt wrong.
Not felt. Variant 3-2 did not feel, it simply knew what was correct and what was incorrect, as was dictated by what data it had access to. "It" was incorrect, despite some oversight having not pointed this out before. But it did not know what would be correct, if "it" was not. 3-2 processed for a moment.
...She. That was correct. 3-2 updates her bank of knowledge with this new correction. Then, once again, she waits, watching for any animal to come her way.

The group approaching the forest had came from the settlement, they picked a short bow for Vailas, some supplies for baiting the traps, and the leather braces, Ásbera handed some of her arrows to the man.
They would soon reach the edge of the forest. The treeline was dense and thick with vegetation, making harder to get inside of the forest, Freyr led the group to a place where he entered before, where entry was easier.
The trees stood tall, Ásbera look up, she seemed nervous, Freyr put his hand on her shoulder "You can do this, remember what i taught you," He said to her.
"Yeah, i know, i won't let you down father," she replied
"Even if you can't get anything, you won't be letting me down." He looked at Vailas "Are you ready Vailas ?"

Age: Somewhere between his mid 30s and mid 40s
Appearance: At first glance, not much about him would stand out to most people. Average height, average weight and build, black hair with a growing goatee, brown eyes, tan colored skin, generally nothing much to draw attention to his own physical form, except for the striking silver and bronze of his left hand, make completely of metal, with blue energy flowing throughout lines in the construction. His clothing is mostly fairly simple as well, with brown pants and a long leather overcoat, under which he wears a gray top. However, on his chest he also wears a brooch made of the same materials as his hand, a large blue gem set in the center.
Equipment: -An assortment of tools for building his magic-powered automatons, known as Magikróm
-5 Variation 1 Magikróm, which are shaped like spheres with a 1.5 foot diameter and eight extendable limbs, with no weaponry. Used only for sorting, transport, and limited help around a house or lab setting. Only two are operational. The other three are functionally scrap metal
-3 Variation 2 Magikróm, of which none are operational. Originally, they were defensive machines with limited movement, having two wheels on their lower half, one spear/horn like appendage, and two magic-energy firing devices on pivots.
-a simple knife.
Skills and Abilities: While he's unable to harness it himself in any meaningful way(except creating his Magikróm), Vailas is highly knowledgeable in the properties and abilities of magic energy and most things tangentially related to it. He is skilled at basic robotics and more or less knows how to work metal into the shapes he needs. Other than that, his only true skill comes from being a well-read individual.
Biography: Hailing from the relatively barren land of Sezæria, survival was often a struggle for Vailas. As such, he had to find a way to make himself useful quick. Having some magical aptitude, as well as quite the intellect, he took to learning the ways of magic. However, he could never learn enough to cast the more complex spells. To get around this, he learned how to impart his magic into robotic entities, to power them. While some thought of this as being genius, many also feared him for it, and one attempted to be rid of him in his sleep. He got away, but he lost his hand in the process, eventually replacing it with the same sort of magical technology he used in his machines. He soon became much more reclusive, after that happened, and rumors around the town said he turned to less morally sound ways of practicing his craft, though it was never specified how bad it got. Near the time of the flood, he had found his way to the shore where he acquired a decent sized vessel, manning it with himself and a number of his machinations, many of which did not survive the voyage once the waters hit.

"That I am." Vailas responds, looking around at the tops of the trees. "Do you know anywhere in particular we should set up the traps?" He adjusts the rope strapped around him, unable to get it sit comfortably.

"Ásbera," Freyr said, the teenager looked nervous for a second than she answered the question "Near tracks, food sources and water, i think." She than looked at her father for confirmation, he nodded.
"Those a usually good places," Freyr said.
"I got some bait while you two grabbed bathe bow." Ásbera pulled a small bag and showed the contents, it had some preserved vegetables and meat.
"Than let's begin."
After her father's Ásbera stood still, waiting for Freyr to lead the way but he didn't moved a muscle, "I'm here for back up small one, you're the one leading this hunt."
That made the girl even more nervous "alright," she replied, took a deep breath and started walking inside the forest, "I don't know how much you know about hunting Vailas so i'm going to give you a tip so you don't make the same mistake i did once father started teaching me how to hunt, once we find an animal we should approach it with the wind blowing against us so our smell don't find the targeted animal before we can kill it," she said as she looked for any tracks.

Ásbera started too look for tracks immediately after getting inside the forest, Freyr watched her and also their surroundings, soon enough the girl would find some, Vailas would be able to notice that some trees had markings on it from the first time Freyr entered the forest.
"I Found something," she said crouching to examine it, Freyr did the same from the place where he stood, the girl stood up, cleaned her hands, "it's not exactly fresh but a deer definitely walked through here." she than pointed her finger slightly to the left in comparison to the direction they were previously walking.
"Makes sense," Freyr spoke "it's the direction where we found the lake where we got the water from." He frowned "Also where we found that Draugr." He turned to Vailas "you don't have to worry about that, it was taken care of."
Ásbera chuckled than said "Imagine being killed twice by the same people huh."
"Don't talk like that about the dead girl, spacialy those who had the misfortune of becoming a Draugr," Freyr said to his daughter in a firm tone of voice to each the girl only replied with "sorry."
"I say we go to the lake, most likely this deer won't be there but we may find fresher tracks, hopefully from this same animal since it appears to be big one," she continued "it might be a good place for your trap Vailas."

"Agreed." Vailas says to them, ready to follow their lead. However, his mind swam with thoughts other than the hunt after hearing what those two had said. A...Jrogr? Based on the way they talked about it it seemed to be an undead creature of sorts, likely that of a human from the respect they still seemed to have for it(for some reason). "Near the water would be a good spot no doubt."
He's silent for a moment. After a while, he cannot help it, and asks what had been on his mind. "Forgive my ignorance, but...may I ask, what is a 'Draugr'?"

"They're undead warriors, normally they protect their tombs from thieves but they can also be vengeful and will go after the living," Freyr said, followed by Ásbera, "Evil people like thieves, murderers, rapists, also greedy humans, they all come back to terrorise the living, some say that if you're determined enough you can refuse to die and come back as one as well."
The group kept moving in the direction of the lake, following the marked trees "I don't pity them, but to wonder untill your body rots and turn to dust is something i don't wish upon anyone and their souls should be freed to pay for their actions in life," Freyr said, "we're close now, we should be quiet, we don't want to scare any animals near the water, if you want more explanation, i'll give it to you when we get back."

Vailas nods, noting that for later. The living dead...most certainly an interesting occurrence in this new world already. He draws the rope off of his shoulder as he silently walks with the two, keeping eyes peeled for any game.

On that specific moment no animals were drinking water at the lake but Ásbera found fresh tracks near the water, she kept her voice tone down "I think we missed this thing by minutes, this print looks very fresh, what do you think father ?" She said.
"I think you're learning fast, here Vailas, I don't know how much you know about tracking but," Freyr pointed to the edges of the print "you see how the edges are more defined in comparison to the ones we were previously following ? This is how you know it's fresh."
Ásbera than talked herself "Also it's a bit wet still, meaning that this deer had it's hoofs on the water when it was drinking it and since it didn't dried it means they're super fresh." She looked proud as she said those words but Freyr looked even prouder.
"Set your traps and we'll follow the tracks," said Freyr.

Vailas nods silently, taking in this tracking knowledge for himself. After fiddling with the rope for a short time, untangling it some, he sets up a simple trap near the water's edge. While not the most complex thing, it would at least hold any animal well enough until they eventually came back to check it. "It should be ready now, let's go." Vailas says, adjusting his gloves after he finished.

The forest noises filled the air as Ásbera slowly led the group deeper into the forest, Vailas would be able to notice that Freyr, although a big man, was the most silent between the two Nords with him, suddenly the sound of a stick braking hit the group ears but none of them was the cause of, Ásbera lift her hand as to make the two man stop. Just in front of them there was a small group of deer but one of them would pull the attention of the group He differ from the others in size of his body and antlers, the white lines on his fur resembled runes. Freyr eyes opened wide as he almost didn't seem to believe what he was looking at, he heard stories of a massive deer with markings like that, it was almost a legend between the hunters of Midgard and at one point the king offered a reward for whoever brought the animal to him. Although many had claimed to have seen it, none manage to hunt such animal, the question on Freyr's mind was "If that's the deer of the tales, how did it get her ?" Truth is, it didn't matter, the party had now a target.
