Appearance: The look like a light Portuguese Man O War with a brain. It's brain cavity is clear allowing you to see inside it's body. The tentacles are long and lets them move around quickly and attack themselves to others of their species.
Equipment: They sometimes carry living weapons made out of other Synchs
Skills and Abilities: Using other members of their species they are able to shape their bodies to look like other species. Their mimicry is imperfect and normal intelligent species are able to tell the difference. This process involves synchphons analyzing their target and attaching themselves to each other to shape themselves. This process takes them about half an hour.
Magic helps this process and allows them to change colors to match the species or environment.
They can mimic abilities of other species when they shape shift. The abilities they copy are not as strong as the thing they copy, depending on the power level. They first transform into the user and see the ability in action for them to be able to replicate it.
Given that they are are colonial organisms their bodies can be cut into prices multiple times and are able to regenerate in a couple of days. If their brain is damaged however they die, and the body returns to their colony. Some parts are able to photosynthesize.
Usually they live underwater but are fast climbers and tunnelers because of their hardiness.

In the shore, a new presence swam into the beach. A large glowing mass under the water, glowed ominously. Suddenly a large amount of smaller creatures emerged form the water. Tiny jelly fish, synchs, with squishy sails on their head emerged and began their spread. They quickly broke off plants and scared away some smaller creatures that lived in the nearby trees.
And one synch emerged from the water, wearing a cloak made of jellyfish-like flesh and three stubby bone legs, lead them outside and ordered them around. Using their long arm Reno pointed and signed at the others to start building. Everyone followed in a hurry, their tiny little tentacles scurrying in the ground.
Reno had two companions besides them. Their companions, a few nameless synchs, helped them by chirping their orders loudly with them. Each synch started mending bone like plates together, creating walls and masses of pulsing jellyfish flesh that writhed and moved across the dirt.
The large mass beneath the water jumped out and landed on top of their make shift camp, destroying a few of their 'tents'. A crab shaped jellyfish, holding a water bubble behind itself and flopped like mad . Inside that water bubble were eggs, dead fish, growing masses of flesh and bone, and other baby synchs that were panicking. The queen cried with a resonating pulse of sound and flopped, warning the synchs of the new threat.
Under the water synchs cried and screeched. The unfortunate souls were being torn to shreds, their brain matter and flesh filling the water's surface. Fish about the size of these synchs were eating in a frenzy, cutting into them with teeth as sharp as knives. The carnage didn't stop there as the horrifying looking fish jumped out of the water, grabbing a few synchs with their strong jaws and dragging them into the water.
The synchs screeched in horror, but Reno was fuming. They were cornered and on land. Their predators had returned and were in a frenzy. They ordered some of their brethren to join them and told the cavalry to ready themselves. Some of the synchs shaped themselves like rocks and others like small bushes. Reno's most loyal servant shaped themselves like a human, with clothes made of real cloth, looking almost normally except their arms moved in unnatural directions and their neck was covered by a strange looking scarf.
The humanoid stood hunched over Reno, waiting their command. As soon as everyone was ready they made their way into the forest. To an outsider it was as though a swarm of rocks and bushes were migrating across the forest floor. Reno was ready for another conquest, and they could not afford to fail again.

As Reno and his cohort emerged from the beach, they would very soon be greeted by an odd, red substance on the ground. It was almost like a moss or a vine, but bright red and somewhat gelatinous. It seemed to spiral up the trunks of the trees, but they did seem unaffected anyhow. It simply coated the ground like a red-squishy version of grass. If there were any telepaths or empaths among Reno's Entourage they would feel an inherent malice from this susbtance, one that it held for all mortal, as well as an inherent craving to spread far and wide. Still, it seemed it will not harm them for now.

Deeper into the forest, the Arch-huntress watched as the Scrimp of one of her hunting companions descended, floating down under it's own bizarre power. 'I'll never get used to that thing, useful as it is.' she though, shuddering a bit at it's grim appearance.
"Arch Huntress! " The Beastmaster shouted, telepathically communicating with his charge. "Reports of something moving in the Northeast shore. like if the forest floor began to move on it's own.' That's not good. The general and his men were to the south, and wouldn't be able to respond as quickly. She and her band will have to do.
"Well then I suppose we will have to ride out to meet them. Everyone, follow my mark!" She said, hoping onto a tree branch, and jumping to the next. Either way, war is coming.

The swarm of synchs slowed down, tiredly and followed the lead of the humanoid. Reno, having taken the form of a bush, ordered them to continue forward. The synchs didn't like the red vines. They were pretty similar to the synchs themselves, but that's probably why they didn't like them.
As the humanoid ran they tried walking like a normal human. Reno ordered them to try to perfect their movement. They walked more stiffly, and quickly walked under the command of Reno. Their entire color changed, turning the same shade of red as the vines around them.
The moving bushes and rocks spread out, trying to scout for anything that might ambush them. They were pretty stealthy, but looking closely you could see their odd movements, giving their disguises away. They didn't see any much civilization, so the kept going forward. The other synchs chirped, mimicking the sounds of birds and disguising their language.

Age: ~23
Appearance: (note: icon temporary)
5'7" tall with a relatively thin, semi-athletic frame. Her blonde hair is cut to her shoulders and held up in a half-tail, with a pair of goggles resting on top of her head both keeping the hair out of her heterochromatic one-blue-and-one-aqua eyes. Generally she wears simple orange-ish tan breeches and a green sleeved shirt, occasionally with a harness made of wood and metal scraps and often carrying one or more of her creations.
Equipment: She has a small set of tools with which to cut and nail together wood and thinner metals, as well as a buckler-like shield with a blade coming out the front, cobbled together from scrap materials. She also has a pair of broken mechanical wings that are missing their old power source and a half finished forearm-mounted crossbow.
Skills and Abilities: She is highly creative, able to use even discarded and scrap materials to create interesting small tools, weapons, and similar pieces.
She is good with carpentry and basic mechanics, with passable knowledge in working cold metal.
Biography: She was born on the island of Éledún, home to one of the most magically gifted groups of humans in her world. However, from her birth it was known to all that she would lack any of these gifts for her entire life. Her eyes were enough to tell them that. So, to make up for the magical inadequacy she was so self-conscious of, she took up tinkering with wood and metal, creating small inventions to help around the town or to help fight(some...working much better than others). She spent most of her life trying to prove herself to her peers, but was always viewed as some eccentric outcast on the edge of town, until the flood washed everything away.

It was going to be a very long day.
After departing from the king’s fortress within Helsreach, it had been an easy matter for Givena to make it back to shore for her things. Once there though, she did find herself somewhat distracted, at first intending on only doing some minor tweaking to the wrist-mounted crossbow project she had brought half finished on her journey. By time she looked up, however, it was a matter of hours later and the device was finished.
Satisfied with the work she’d done, she affixed the new toy to her wrist, before closing up the strange boat-shell apparatus and dragging it, as well as her belongings, behind her as she walked. However, it wasn’t far into the forest before she noticed a movement ahead. Quickly she ducked behind a bush, peeking ahead to see what it might have been.
It was there she saw the flock of bushes and rocks swarming inland.
Givena was utterly baffled, unsure of exactly what she was looking at, and yet intrigued beyond belief. She decided that, truly, she had no choice but to follow and see where they were going. So, leaving her supplies behind and mentally noting where she’d left them, she began to follow the crowd silently through the forest, making sure to stay unseen.

The swarm of jellyfish chirped and scared off some nearby animals. The humanoid was the most visible, and using their human like voice they called out, trying to draw in any attention to themselves. Their longscarf like tentacle swayed as though the wind was blowing. The nerve endings could be seen flickering and sensing the surroundings.
Reno was starting to think there was no civilization currently and their scouts could not sense anything useful. They needed more food on land and they needed water free of their predators. Suddenly the scouts started chirping warnings. Something was coming closer. The humanoid started talking again." Here fire." They said, spouting out nonsense.
Reno however went to investigate. using their disproportionately long arm they went from tree to tree, trying to spot the new threat. They were camouflaged themselves in themselves with the red of the surrounding vines, making them relatively hidden but not completely invisible.

Unfortunately for them, they would have little luck in finding anything. The Huntress had become well familiar with the forest around her at this point, and now that she was looking for it, she had little trouble picking out the camouflaged entities, whatever they were. She watched for a little while, before she decided to swing back towards the city. Until she slipped up. She made a bad swing, and caused one of the branches she had leaped from to snap and fall. Landing right on one of the creatures. Needless to say, the huntress picked up the pace.

The synchs avoided the noise, but followed it's general direction. They made holes in the ground and placed rocks in formations as they passed by. This seemed random, but was an instinct of theirs to leave things behind to make a path. Just usually it involved leaving their body parts behind.
The humanoid used their tentacle scarf to grab some rocks and throw them at the direction of the noise. Reno chirped and ordered them to follow at a distance.
Reno wasn't sure if they were going the right direction, but they needed something to escape the water. Even if it means they have to push themselves to the limit.

Soon enough, the huntress saw the upcoming clearing, the outer wall of helsreach imposing and tall. Grabbing a vine of Fiendstuff, she swung herself up-and-over the wall. Sprinting, she ran to the center of town and rang the guard bell, as loudly as she could.
While the Constublary attempted to extract from the huntress what was going on, the guards assembled on the walls, and tried to get an idea of what was coming.

The humanoid tripped into the clearing, falling face first on the ground. Their arms were sprouted out like noodles and their 'scarf' squirmed in the ground, trying to pull them back up.
They turned their head to the guards, and jumped back. They stood up shakily. From a distance they looked like a regular human. With black hair and dark skin.
The bushes nearby chirped, like birds. Reno was camouflaged in the trees, and ordered the synch to engage, giving them courage.
The humanoid opened their mouth." Fire, Hey Okay!" They spouted gibberish, hoping to lure the guards out of their post.

The longer Givena followed, the more baffled she became. The person leading the pack was…wrong. On an intrinsic level. It walked unnaturally, it spoke gibberish, its scarf was prehensile. And that wasn’t even mentioning the forest floor following it. She wasn’t sure what it was, but she was certain at the very least that it was not human.
And worse, once they got near the city, she could tell they meant to be a threat. Quietly, she loaded a bolt into the wrist-crossbow she had just finished, waiting for a good opening to strike. It wasn’t how she expected to, but there was no better time to test it out.

On the walls, the archers (primarily fiendish and Elven, with a handful of humans) rushed to prepare their arrows, dipping a few of them per archer in a pot of thick liquid and training them on the forest, waiting upon an order to fire. Behind them, over the gate, three stout dwarves hauled a pot of oil to the top of the gatehouse, while a human stoked a fire underneath the great brass pot.
Just outside the walls an elf sprinted out from the gate, and yanked a string next to the edge of the Moat, then quickly ran back inside. A few moments later, the moat sprang to life, purple tentacles beginning to writhe and twist as they were agitated to awareness.
Despite the call from Reno, the Castellen looking from the top of the Gatehouse did not heed it. the Arch-huntress had said the attackers were mimics, and he had no intention to fall for it. Instead, he raised an arm, and with a shout, lowered it. The archers on the battlements let lose their bows, the arrows hissing through the air. When the arrows struck something they would burst into flames, the liquid they were drenched in exploding.

The synchs screeched as the arrows fell. They moved out of the way, camouflaging themselves into the foliage while the humanoid kept talking, trying to distract the archers. Their screeching scared a few animals off, because of how loud and annoying it was.
They had very little ammo to throw back. They started throwing branches and rocks at the walls. Some of them started clumping together, forming a single mass surrounded by a shell.
Reno ordered them to throw some of the arrows own ammunition into the moat, throwing dirt and mud into it to the tentacles. They were being as annoying as possible to keep everyone's attention to them. Reno screeched orders for some others to follow them.
Reno themselves ordered the humanoid and their other friend to follow them. They used the distraction of their friends to sneak around the perimeter, and finding an open gate. Because of their malleable bodies they were able to slip through smaller cracks and finally managed to sneak into the city.

However, in the meantime Reno and is retinue find no resistance in the city. Everyone was in the immense keep in the center of the city or on the walls. As it stands, they have the run of the place.

The few jellyfish left to distract kept at it, protecting themselves with their coral shells and annoying the animals around them.
The synchs in the walls however were already starting to wreck havock. They broke into a store and ate the one running it. The silenced them, and locked themselves inside the store
They were eating as much as possible. Meat was their main target. Once full they began multiplying their resources. The body parts attached to the jellyfish began to multiply.
Tentacles, shells, and jellyfish flesh were formed from the matured parts. They grew slowly, taking their time to get as strong as possible. Once this store was through, they went to another, and another. They left behind those growing masses of flesh to grow on their own.
