Hey y'all, Gator here and I just wanted to create this thread with current character/storyline/location ideas for current and perhaps future characters.
I'll try to keep it as updated as possible, but if you see anything you like and want to connect feel free to comment in this thread, shoot me a PM, or a direct message on discord (BayouGator).
Current characters/ideas:
- Ananias - Half-elf Rogue/Bandit/Outlaw/Smuggler/Wilderness Survivalist - Currently in the Swamp but willing to eventually branch out to the rest of the Southwest area (and possibly beyond) for criminal enterprises. Swamp will be main base of operations.
- Grimm Giantsbane - Dwarf Tavern keeper, grizzled military veteran. This is just sort of a fun character for me who probably won't leave his tavern (once it's set up) too much. Mainly an outlet for Casual RP in the Northwest area and Khala'dur.
- Orcjaw Clan - This is mainly a catchall account for the Orcjaw Clan leadership and main events. To be settled in Khala'dur and surrounding areas eventually.
Area/location ideas:
So right now my characters are based in the Swamps (Southwest) and Khala'dur (Northwest). These are areas I invite you to come roleplay in as I'd like to see them developed. Even if you have a character just swinging through or one or want to do something completely different than what my current characters are involved in, I'd love to bounce ideas and interact to best develop these areas.
- Swamp (Southwest) - I'd like to see it as the stereotypical hideout for seedy characters (like Ananias) including thieves, assassins, pirates, etc. But I'd also like to see a more frontier sort of settlement that has a normal population that occasionally has to deal with these elements (think Deadwood in IRL). There can always be more than one settlement in the area, too! Some legitimate industries that would make sense would be logging (cypress wood), fishing, gator and crocodile hunting (for meat), foragers for reagents for alchemy, etc.
- Khala'dur (Northwest) - As of 5/17/2021, I haven't officially set this settlement up yet. The idea is for it to be a primarily Dwarven settlement of the Orcjaw Clan, who's claim will extend all the way to the mountains. All races are welcome! Khala'dur itself will be a settlement with trade in mind, set at the junction of two rivers that each flow from a mountain range and that flow out as one river to the inland sea. The idea being that the gold, silver, minerals, etc. mined by the Orcjaw Clan will be shipped from the mountain mines downriver to Khala'dur and eventually to the rest of the world. Would love to develop a Dwarven culture in this area with other players.
Ideas for possible future characters:
- Clean cut, stern, military officer character, very much focused on rule of law, etc.
- Priest/Monk character, deeply religious and philosophical. Likely used to develop some religious lore in the game.
- Warlock or necromancer type of character. Most likely "Lawful Evil" alignment, involved with demons and other infernal beasts. Races I would consider are Elf, Tiefling, and Vampire.
