Appearance: Robert is a lean half elf with bronzed skin and an ageless face set with ice blue eyes that faintly glow in the dark, framed with dark brown hair that is often pulled back into a pony tail.
-
Equipment: A wide variety of tools picked up over the course of a life of adventuring and being thrown into one insane, life threatening situation after another. From loot stolen from dragons and brigands to weapons forged by experts, trinkets taken from foes and given by kith and kin, and a thousand other things, he's collected a hoard of his own.
The Stained Glass Gemini - a masterpiece of magic and practical engineering who's origins are a mystery. The ship is bigger than it may first appear as there is a level below the usual bottom floor. The previous owner was a pirate lord of some notoriety that used the ship as his retirement home and eventual resting place. When Robert found the ship in it's final resting place, it had been picked clean of treasure by other scavengers but the ship had been left as none-knew how to sail her. However as he had been taught thread magic he could feel the power in the rigging and sails and, after much experimentation, learned how to manipulate and sail the wondrous ship which quickly became his nigh undiscoverable home.
-
Skills and Abilities: Just a jumbled bag of skills that he's had to pick up over time. Woodworking, blacksmithing, leatherwork, weapon and armor maintenance, sewing, weaving, general survival skills, sleight of hand, disguise, music, tattooing, painting, cooking, haggling, a bit of brewing, physical medical skills like stich work, calligraphy, alchemy, navigation, juggling, stealth (wilderness is better then urban), list continues.

The ship rocks gently on the waves, sunlight drifting through its sails that gleam like glass made cloth, absorbing light to feed the enchantments that cover the ship.

Appearance: "Starry-eyed Nefero" is an apt description for the young Kor'duran man, as he is awestruck by the world, which reflects back into eyes that mimic a night sky. A mop of curly black hair, the underside of which is white, sits on his head, framing a strong jaw on an otherwise youthful face. His skin is almond with an array of ivory freckles across his nose and cheeks. His massive wings alternate in a gradient of alabaster, black, and chestnut on the outside, with simple alabaster on the inside, ending in chestnut circles. His tail feathers mimic the pattern. His feet are a strange mingling, where the human half ends just before the toes, where wicked talons grow instead. Another claw grows from his heel.
__________________________________________________
Equipment: Other than his breezy breeches and thin shawl, Nefero owns a bronze khopesh, a javelin, a waterskin, and a tad bit of jewelry.
___________________________________________________
Skills and Abilities: Though he has been trained with the khopesh and the javelin all his life, never once has Nefero been in actual combat. The same can be said with his bow, though he has been known to use it for hunting on occasion. He has the same knowledge with hand-to-hand and talon-to-talon.

He hit the deck hard, bouncing atop it like a skipped rock before crashing into the cabin on the opposite side. The winged man didn't crumple, didn't curl, only wilted. His muscles deflated, and his wings flopped around at the will of the wind as though they were parchment. By sheer willpower, he kept his eyes open, vision blurred, and his brow steepled with pain that his mind could hardly register.
Just across the way, he spotted a figure, and just the thought of seeing another person made him smile like a poor, senile lad. Tears rolled down his cheeks as a chuckle bobbled his shoulders. He never noticed the streak of blood he left on the deck, created in his crash landing. The fall shredded the skin on his right side, pulled out feathers, and left him as a pitiful lump of meat on the ground.
But still, he smiled.
He was on a boat. He wasn't alone!

Robert was not prepared for the thud and horrible sliding sounds of a body falling out of the sky to land on his boat, but long years of experience had him moving in a flash to cover the ground between them. The amount of blood, skin, and feathers left behind was… impressive, and a detached portion of his mind noted that it was going to be a pain to get the stains out, but then he was beside the man and laying the most potent sleeping spell that he could dredge through the mist on him. This wasn’t going to be pleasant.
Lifting the now limp body he carried him below decks, down a couple levels to the infirmary in the crew quarters. Sometimes the excess of rooms seemed, well, excessive, but it wasn’t like the ship was built for one man to run even if that was all it required. And so he set about stitching any deep gashes, bandaging wounds, checking for broken bones, realigning and binding any he found. Then he did his best to get some water into the man’s system before lastly, shackling his arm to the side of the cot. He’d been stabbed in the back one too many times to let him run free right off the bat.

It was the ache that woke him.
Not the swaying of the boat, not the stinging of his wounds, not the creaking and jangling of every corner, but the ever-present, ever-burning ache. He groaned as he opened his eyes, feeling that even his lids were sore from his journey. Oh! But his journey, where did it end? Looking around, letting his head clear, he evaluated his surroundings. It was dark down here and it smelled a bit damp. The place was made of wood. Eyes shooting open, he realized where he had to be.
"The boat!" he gasped, moving to get up. The action pulled his chains taut. Combined with his sore muscles, he was whiplashed down onto the cot with an anguished, hoarse cry. When the burn subsided, he looked down at his body. One side was decorated in bandages, some of which were crusted and dark with old blood. He tried to raise his wings, but a sharp pain shot through them when he tried. He used his hands to pull them to his front, inspecting the damage. "Gods!" he growled, seeing that two of the longest flight feathers had snapped. With a groan, he took them in his fingers and pulled hard, arms throbbing in the effort. With a hiss, he pulled them free, then tossed the feathers on the ground. In time, they would grow back, but until then he wasn't sure if flying was going to be an option for a while.
The young man rose his eyes once more, lips pursed.
"Hello?"

Robert had been lightly sleeping in a chair with a couple other cots between them. His life had been thrown for a loop with the recent events and his already terrible sleep schedule had only gotten worse. The crows nest was all but a permanent residence at this point and controlling the ship had gone from effortless to feeling like he was dragging lead weights through quicksand at times.
But now he wasn’t alone anymore. Well, he hadn’t really been alone but his bonded spirits couldn’t manifest here and he only got faint flickers of emotion from them through their bonds these days. Prevalent among them was concern and wariness at the moment. At least they could still know what was going on with him.
Stretching he approached the stranger. “Evening. Mind telling me your name?” He asked, his tone casual enough, if a bit strained. He had a couple potions of healing on hand, though he was unsure if they would be of any use here, and if he could even afford to lose them. Better to ask questions first, even as he offered the man a drink from a decanter of water.

The man rousing made the duralam jump. He turned his head to stare at him, eyes wide in starry-eyed wonder. He fumbled with his words a bit, cleared his throat, and smiled. "Nefero. I'm Nefero. Ah, were you the one who saved me?" he asked, shuffling forward on his bed. The chain strained against his wrist again, making him flinch. "Am... am I a prisoner?"

Robert looked a bit disgusted with himself as he fished a key out of a pocket and unlocked the shackle. "Sorry. Habit. Too many instances of being stabbed in the back for my paranoia to be anything but twitchy." He replied apologetically as he offered Nefero the potion. "This should help with the wounds, though it isn't a cure-all." He finished as he took a seat. "So where are you from Nefero?"

Nefero blinked curiously at the stranger when he removed the shackles, as though this was the strangest part of the whole ordeal. Not only that, but he gave him some sort of... concoction. A potion! He drank it down swiftly, making a bit of a face as the bitterness passed over his tongue, but in a swift minute, the pain began to ebb away. As it did not grow hair, the potion did not replace the missing feathers, but it did heal the torn follicles so that growth would begin more swiftly. The young man stretched his wings delightedly, rose his arms, stood up. A brilliant smile crept along his face.
"Thank you!" he exclaimed, reaching forward to take the man's hands and put his forehead to them in a sincere gesture. "I am in your debt. Truly! Never have I met a human who has decided to help a duralam instead of butchering us!" His expression changed, then, from thanks to confusion. "But why? And how do you not know of the Oasis from which we come from?" To him, it should have been obvious. After all, it was the only thing he'd ever known!

“Pretty sure neither of us is on the world we were born on. Not exactly my first time in this predicament but…” Robert trailed off for a long moment as his mind drifted back. He remembered the storms that ravaged heaven and earth. The great flood that swelled the seas that seemed to run red as blood and black as ichor, invading the chasms and flooding the underlands. The waters roiling with the unleashed demonic hoards. The skylands being torn from the heavens to sink into the depths. “I don’t think there’s a way back this time.” He finished quietly, staring past the other man into a distance he wished he could unsee.

Nefero's expression fell. His shoulders, his wings, his entire body drooped to the floor as Robert spoke, sucking out any hope that things were somehow alright.
"That cannot be," he rasped, looking up and away from his newly acquired friend, the doomsday speaker, to search for the door. Once he found it, he teetered toward it. "The Oasis. It was there! I left it, but I was just... I was just trying to find my sister. I thought I got lost in the ocean. I'd never seen it before, so I thought, 'Surely, this is how vast it must be!' Yes?" He struggled to open the door. The duralam had never futzed with a knob before.
"Please, friend. Tell me this is all a lie!"
