Did this madwoman have no sense of pain?!
Nina was tired, and angry, and kissed, which was the worst of all. She wanted to take a handful of pumice and rasp her lips off, rasp her face off for being too close, run and sink into the sea until the pressure against her eyes purged the memory of eye contact. Equally bad was the realization that she wasn't being taken seriously.
Her panic spiked when she heard someone's steps at the door. But there was no call for apprehending the intruder; only the quiet shutting of the door, only the shuffling steps. She presumed it looked like- She didn't want to think about it. The stranger pulled her around once more, and that's when Nina-
Stopped.
It was surprisingly difficult to move someone who didn't want to be moved. Knees slightly bent, centre of weight lower down, eyes wide and awake to avoid having her legs being kicked from under her, the girl looked different. She had let go of her opponent's face, so she was pulled by her lip, it hurt so much, she wondered if her lip would break off. She had to-
Endure!
Buy time, had to, now twist your wrist away from her grip, a bit more time, until she managed to catch in her left hand the awkwardly hanging pendant, twist it in her fingers.
In a moment, the clock hand that had been a sword was brought between them, at neck-level. Nina would mockingly twirl it before slashing down. She needed to get some distance. Yet a careful eye might spot that her movements were slow; that she was doing her damnedest to avoid actually landing a hit. If any opportunity arose, she would take a leap back.
“Brave of you to keep that so close to your heart.” Nina gestured with her chin. And by brave she meant stupid.
Without changing the weapon to her main hand, the intruder gestured with it.
“You want information? Fine. I want the watch.”
She paused.
“And a blanket.”

Roona was quick to latch off after the stranger latched off and pulled that sword thing. Roona then moved her body further out of the way of the attack. Quickly taking several steps back she halted herself in a stance that seemed formal yet foreign. Roona now had distance from the madwoman with a sword thing. Roona observed the strangers movement, she had passed body language by the skin of her teeth back at the college. She could tell well enough though that the stranger is being way too passive and slow to show aggression. But that was just a theory, a dueling theory. It was a seventy-thirty chance on whether the stranger was being passive or cocky, which percent is which Roona didn't know but she had a scale.
Roona knew her office far too well to say she didn't have more weapons in here. Luckily those were behind her desk, which she was in front of. But that would mean turning her back from the stranger. Roona was deciding and calculating when the stranger decided to speak. During which Roona did not enjoy having a sword waved at her that wasn't intended to stab her, it gives the sword redundancy if you do that.
By the words chosen by the stranger it seemed that diplomacy was going to be an option. So she broke her stance and took a few more steps back to lean against the front of her desk, more positioned in a way to dive roll over the desk and grab her fathers cane.
"Thanks, they're natural" Roona said calmly, playing dumb and adjusting her blouse around the breast area to show ignorance to the watch that was poking her stomach. "Now, now I caaaaaaaaaan give you the watch, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut then you'd run out that door and leave and I simply can't have that." Roona said calmly towards the stranger.
"But hey, you're a decent kisser chapped lips. So how about this, you tell me everything I want to know as requested earlier. And after that we discuss a tinsy tiny contract, and then I give you the watch. And if you want a blanket while we discuss everything then you may have one. But first, slide over the sword." Roona was collected and kept herself aware. During the part where she mentioned a blanket, Roona nodded with her chin over to a thick folded wool blanket with a fun pattern on top. At the end Roona moved her hands behind her to lean back on the desk, to show that if the stranger slid the sword thing over Roona would likely just kick it to the side instead of reversing the roles of the one with the sword.
"Do we have a deal?"

The tension in Nina's chest was beginning to unwind, the ticking inside her fading to the pulsing of a bruise. She clung on to that ache, since she knew that if she were to relax completely, she would collapse on the polished wood floor. Listening to the other speak, the girl knew. It was not over yet.
Nina did not hand over the clock hand. She might not have done it even with a normal weapon – good steel was, for the moment, worth its weight in gold – but she certainly would not part from her only means of fighting the Clocktower. So she tied the clock-hand back around her neck, back in its pendant form, and parted her arms as if to show her intentions.
“I am not trying to hurt you.” Nina spoke.
In truth, the traveller did not know what the clock hand would do if used as a weapon. Mabe pass through flesh without a single cut; maybe enslave one to the Clocktower and shred their soul to pieces. She did not want to know.
“My name is Nina.” The girl said. She strode over to the blanket, stopping only for a touch, to reach out her tired aura, check for enchantments, before swinging the fabric around her shoulders. “Travelling painter. A bit of a wizard. Have you ever heard about the Clocktower?” She tiredly spoke. She balanced on her heels, more to hide her shuddering than to prepare for running off.
“Not 'a'. 'The'. I'm its...guardian, I s'ppose.” She threw her hand up. “That is just a piece. Some say its roots lie deep in human history, when words were first written, and 'truth' could for the first time become something outside of human mind.” The girl shook her head, scattering water around her. “Loong story short...A lot of people were harmed in its making.” She looked angrily at the floor. “And because it is stuck in a loop, it wants to hurt more people. My job is to ensure it does not do all that. Frankly, if you'd died, you would be one of its luckier victims. ”
Turning on her heels, the girl started toward the door.
“I was going to help deactivate that thing, maybe destroy it. Of course, since you seem so confident with it...” She gestured to the side.
And stopped. Clenched her fist.
“Don't get me wrong. I know what gratitude is.” Nina hissed through her teeth. Unlike some. “But a contract isn't worth the paper it is written on between people who don't trust each other, and the fact that you suggested one makes me not trust you.” Her eyes were fixed on the crossed blades in the doorway, keeping an eye on the madman captain through their reflection.
If nothing else was said, the traveller would keep on walking.

Roona raised an eyebrow at the woman. It was rather rude to walk away, and there were quite a few people on board. She could just yells 'guards' and the woman would be back in her office in a spiffy. But the point of two people not trusting each other is a valid point, one Roona would have to realize. Roona rolled her eyes and walked over to a spare comfy chair, she slid the chair in front of the desk before walking to her own chair on the other side. She lounged back and dug into her corset, making it rather awkward for how long it was taking, before pulling out the watch.
"Calm your nerves then chapped lips. Be real, you aren't going to make it off this boat unscathed. You're wet, tired, wounded, and will likely be more wounded by the time you get top deck. I'm not going to hurt you, but I will detain you if for me and my crew's safety. In all these scenes you get this." Roona throws the pocket watch down onto the table in front of her. Placing just correctly that if this Nina wanted to grab and run, she could.
"But, no contract involved, there is a way for you to leave this place with the watch, healthy, and in good relations with a soon to be settlement. All you need to do, is sit down." Roona says, dancing her words. Roona would then gesture to the seat she had just set up, and then nodded to the blanket pile once more inviting Nina to another blanket.
"Oh, my names Roona, Roona Lovelock. Future Ring of, uh... gah... names pending, but a settlement." Introducing herself, Roona laid back into her chair more. This was a good start to a different diplomatic approach. Hell she'd kiss a octopus if it meant that she could've started like this instead of a watch attack.
