Anatolius whistled a pleasant tune to himself under his breath, working away. He was using a measuring stick he carved himself to mark approximate dimensions where things would be built. "Don't think I'd be ready to make a cellar right away. Rather add that later, as a separate building." he remarked to pass the time.

Faisine seemed only too happy to do some work as well. While he worked on planning things out, she set traps. The forest seemed to have changed just a day or two after they arrived in camp, something she had not felt much of since her arrival in the new world. She was just returning at that time with a basket full of herbs and various plants, berries, fruit, wild vegetables, nuts and the like.
She sat down by the low fire, feeling a little more tired than she had in some time. With a deep yawn, she began to separate the various goods she had foraged while she was out. "I could possibly plant some of these these things. Perhaps half of some things and all of the seeds. Hmm." She looked up toward her husband and was watching him as he mapped things out. She then took a moment to gaze at another spot far enough away that could be cleared for cultivation as well as helping to build their home. She would not want to take up too much space, and as with all the people in her culture, she would try to plan around the trees even with some things.
For now, she would take some of these things and rinse them in the river they were camping out at. She cut up whatever she cleaned and then set the rest aside for the moment. She used a cloth to clean some mushrooms she had seen others consuming in the village, then prepared those too. Soon enough, there was a mushroom stew being whipped up. There was already a small animal prepared from that morning that was being slow roasted.
At some point, she got up to stretch herself and then meandered over to him, randomly wrapping her arms around him from behind with great affection, planting a kiss upon his cheek. And then she gave a rather tired sounding sigh while settling her chin upon his shoulder if he so happened to have taken off his armor for the time.

"I'm a bit of an omnivore, so I'll leave it to you. Whatever happens I'll eat it. I'll trust your judgement." Anatolius offered on the matter of gardening, before focusing back on his plans. He did not exactly have as much attention to the natural world around him as Faisine, focusing more on things like how good the soil was for a foundation and to ensure there wouldn't be any sinkholes or such. Still, he'd consult with her every so often if everything was to her liking.
Indeed, he was not wearing his armour at this time, the suit some distance away. For now he wore merely a practical set of linen pants and sandals. A chuckle came from him as Faisine descended on him. "Come now, there's still work to be done."
He paused thoughtfully, then continued. "But, you know what, we can afford a little procrastination." he said, reciprocating the kiss.

"It is good that you feel that way, my love," she murmured. Her chin soon rested upon his shoulder for a moment as she gave him a loving squeeze before reluctantly letting go. "Come, let's get some lunch. I am famished and you look like you could use something to ease thirst." She took his hand if he let her and tugged, attempting to take him to the fire pit where there was food. She chucked some dough onto a rock she had placed in the coals to get hot, cooking flat bread really quickly before she tossed some of the wild veggies she had found into the pan to get a little less sharp. She then served him a plate of game and what she had conjured up with what was available. There was also some cheese from the village, as they had started farming bovine looking beasts as well as goat like creatures and sheep like creatures.
She made a plate for herself and then sat down on the log she had dragged near the fire.

"Feel. No I don't feel it. I've eaten stuff that's been hanging out for months, course that made me-" he stopped, realizing that Faisine was referring to the fact he was now more liberal with his spending of time rather than the fact to his dietary habits and boundaries. "Erm, yes, it is good I suppose. Part of the whole uhh, new me and all. I no longer have to sit there with a face all taut like I'm constipated worrying about everything. Just about you."
He grumbled a little as he was pulled, but he relented. He turned and picked Faisine up if allowed, holding her until she was level and he could give her a kiss before letting her down nearer the flame. He would wait for his newlywed wife to get herself a selection she desired, before getting himself something admittedly heavier on the meats and yet more so on the cheeses. "I'll admit, this feels good." he said between mastication. "Fresh and well made. I could sometimes enjoy a good cheese on my past travels, after all a really good cheese often stores almost as well as salt or honey, even if those also tend to smell funny. Hells, at fancy parties they'd even eat cheese all blue with mold, though I think in retrospect I don't think that applied to mine most of the time." Stopping his ramblings, Anatolius turned more directly to Faisine. "Been a bit absent minded, me. Anything planned for the evening?"

She smiled. She had the ability to sit between worlds, having been raised within a spoiled seclusion, really, a gilded cage within a cloister. She had been able to learn of her heritage before the world came to an end for her. She tilted her head, "No. I think I might actually go to bed early, I seem to be wearing out as of late much easier than I am used to." She gave a sigh and nibbled at her portion of the dinner she grabbed. He might notice she even went lighter than normal on the meat. She was dainty as she finished off the nibbling of bread that was in her hand, setting her half eaten portion aside for the moment. She looked as though she was starting to wilt.
"Perhaps a little bit of a bath is in order." She gave a great stretch and moved to sit on the ground at that point, scooting to sit against his legs while he ate. In fact, she seemed to doze for a small while.

"Oh, are you sick?" Anatolius asked, suddenly alert. The fact that she was eating less and just... seemed different were things that he never really noticed before, because how much she ate and the likes was her own concern. He was not exactly a an expert of reading body language and the likes, and thus what Faisine said was ultimately the vast majority of what he knew of her. As far as he was concerned she was as beautiful as ever, but now that he stared at her like for the first time to try and witness as much as he could of her.
He let her get to sleep, finishing his meal and then looking down upon her, wrapping his arms around her to give his beloved warmth in the terrifying possibility she was indeed sick as he suspected. When she awoke, he would kiss her on the forehead, though it seemed there was little joy in him as he held her tightly. "You said you have been tired more as of late. When did this begin. I'll seek out your people, they will certainly have some sort of apothecarion to mend whatever ails you."

"I am not sure," she murmured softly before drifting off. She awoke not long later to his questions, she gazed at him and then his question struck her... "It's been a few days. In fact, I haven't..." She counted. They had been at the camp for at least a month or so by her calculations. She was versed in healing enough to know she didn't need one of her people. She gave a slight smile. "I am well, I shall be just fine." She moved into his lap and her head settled on his shoulder.
"We might have to seek lodging if our home isn't ready in months to come unless you wish for me to waddle about barefoot and heavy with child through the forest like my mother was said to have done." She was filled with joy, her eyes sparkling as she touched his face.

When she said she wasn't sure, Anatolius frowned. As she slept, he thought on the matter, and did some mental calculations. He was quite oblivious to many subtleties, but he was not an idiot. It was thus that he came to the conclusion of what was going on before Faisine said it.
"Yes. I suppose this isn't exactly an unexpected outcome." he sighed. "I'm not that good, Faisine. Perhaps until you are ready you ought head to live with your kin, I will spend my days with you, I can work the nights. Or the other way around, whatever you find more comforting. I would also prefer you to be around those well trained in medicine too. I could help, but who knows what complications can arise in this new land. I think both of us have suffered enough tragedy that a stillborn is not at the top of our lists of desires, right? Right. Might take some adjustment but I'm sure I'll get used to living there. Then, we can head back here when its ready."
He stood up, walking pensively before stretching with a yawn. "If its a boy I name him, if its a girl then you. Deal?"

She looked at him as he spoke about it in a business like manner. At least he was expressing concern, so she decided not to respond with a knee jerk reaction. "I shall be perfectly fine sleeping in a tent for a time, I can at least give you that assurance. I would prefer not to be surrounded by people..." She looked down and picked up a nearby stick, reaching to stab at a log.
"I cannot... not after what happened in the war back at home. I never told you this, but I lost part of me there. Good and bad parts of me." She chucked the stick into the fire after a moment and muttered, "It's really stupid and you might think me mad, but I get the worst nightmares when there are people surrounding me." She stood then and stretched. Indeed, he might notice that she was slightly puffy in the midsection, though mostly flat still beneath the fabric of her clothing, but there was already a soft glow about her, enhanced by the fact she was part nymph.

Anatolius closed his eyes, breathing deeply. Just a few years ago he would have broached any disagreement with the statement that it would be his way and any other wouldn't even be considered. But Faisine was his other half, his wife, the one he would sacrifice anything and everything for. Now, for probably the first time in his life, he would have to compromise.
"I understand, my dearest. But if anything were to go wrong, I don't think any of us could stomach it. For all that has wrong in either of our lives, is a miscarriage something that either of us want? It probably won't happen. But it might. If that happens, how long would either of us take to recover? I...." he paused, and took another long breath. "For me. I rarely will ask you of anything. A specific dinner or to bed me or leave me alone as I waste my time watching sports with other men. I wont ever ask you for these frivolities men ask of their women. But this, for me, please. We don't have to live close enough to see anyone on a daily basis. Just close enough I can carry you to a healer in minutes."

She gave a sigh, closing her mouth. She was too tired to argue with him, wanting to remind him she wasn't some weak woman. She had survived quite a lot in a few years, the death of two nations, then the world and her mate, even the loss of him. While he had a point, she didn't want to live in fear. She slowly unfolded and didn't really look at him.
She decided it was time to relax and padded off, not offering the come hither look she would normally give him in regards to her bathing routine. In fact, she seemed to take herself further down the bank and pulled most of her clothes off, leaving on her shift.
She kind of moved to float in the water as she would otherwise. It was pretty evident that she was in her feelings. Her eyes closed as she rested as she would in the water. Her thoughts turned into nothing as she fell into an exhausted slumber whilst soaking.

When Faisine gave no reply, Anatolius grumbled. "Come on, not the quietness." It was clear she was upset by his insistence, but he had no idea what to do about it. As she went off, he paced about, hands behind his back. He was frustrated, but it wasn't like he would push the matter any more if Faisine had made up her mind.
The man cycled through his head how to continue the conversation. Would he try to argue more, to reason? Or just blindly hope she came around to his view? It wasn't as though he suddenly wasn't scared that the worst might happen.
Eventually, he came up with a compromise in his head. He would accept her decision - though making it clear he disagreed with her - but he would also go out and seek at least some sort of education in being a midwife. Midhusband? Whatever. At least if he had some control over the outcome he would feel a little bit better. The fact at the moment everything was out of his hands was terrifying.
With a plan in mind, he stared into the flame, waiting for Faisine to return.

Faisine knew he was right to some extent but she hated the thought of putting constraints on her space. She did not want to be in the village proper, she could still hear the cries of agony within the crowds of women she had tried to save. She had saved many, but she could not save all. She had almost died for others, and while she had considered it an honor once she had grown and matured some, she suffered many nights from reliving those dark moments. The sounds of explosions, or something similar, especially would make her have issues. She would be more likely to suffer that kind of loss if she was under the stress of being among so many people for too long.
She dried herself off and went back to the fire eventually, pulling a long piece of linen around her, though she wasn't worried about modesty since he had seen plenty of her by now. She sat down and stared at the fire for a moment before she opened her mouth to speak, "I wouldn't be alright being surrounded constantly by people. I would more likely have a problem from the amount of bad dreams and visions of the past. You must understand that I would be more at ease surrounded by the forest and in the quiet. I promise you, my love, if something were to grow amiss, Moir has a way of knowing. Moir is the medicine woman, the tribe elder. She helped bring the queen's daughter in a tent a mere hour from here. Would it comfort you more if I asked her to send an apprentice to be near in case?"
