Once suitable place to eat was found by them, Gabriel would open the door for Ziel and even pull the chair for her, he was taught that this were things a man should do, those are actions he usually didn't do, not because he had no other opportunities to show his manners, he sat down after and asked for chicken with potatoes.
"If we keep going like this, soon there will be no more monsters around, although I'd like some time to rest I'll leave the decision if what to do next on your hands." He said to Ziel.

Appearance: She has pretty light skin with multiple scars, black hair and black eyes.
She wears a lot of bandages on her face which makes it hard to see what she looks like. Some of her hair sticks out from them.
She wears a worn black coat with a hood and long sleeves. Her dark gray pants are loose and visibly worn.
The phantom usually looks like a young man with simple attire, black pants and green tunic. You can barely see it's legs as it's bottom half is fading. It sometimes looks wounded.
Equipment: Under her sleeves she has arm guards with retractable blades. These blades are serrated and are usually hidden to look like armor.
Her normal weapon simple dagger, nothing special about it.
Under her coat she usually has a bag.
Skills and Abilities: She can force you to use the same magic/special ability. If you can't do that you are hurt instead.
She can slash with dark blue energy. This slowly begins to weaken abilities, after some time it completely nullifies them for a while.
She can make herself intangible for a couple of minutes. She cannot move and is immune to attacks, however she still takes damage if her phantom attacks.
Her phantom is a hidden entity, usually near her and completely invisible(unless you have an ability that let's you see invisible things). You can feel it's presence when it attacks, enough that you can know where it is without seeing it.
She currently has no control over it, it will only fight if she really needs it or if it wants to fight.
It can shoot small sparks of energy that deal a bit of damage and take small bits of magic from the target.
It can make cuts in the air that linger for a bit, if you step on these invisible cuts you take damage.
It can also summon multiple weapons, either Ziel's or her opponents. These weapons don't copy magical properties.

"chicken and potatoes and something sweet to drink." As he waited for the food, Gabriel started thinking about Erin, specially why wasn't Uriel's blessing enough to kill it, he was used to hunting more physical entities but the blessings should've been enough, he wondered if it was because of it's connection to Ziel but came to no conclusive ideas, for now he decided that he needed to do more research and observe.
Anyone looking at him could see that he was deep in though, he was frowning and taping his finger on the table, once he figured out his thoughts he turned to Ziel to ask her a question "Did you see any places to get books ? If there isn't one I might have to go talk to that rich fellow but I don't think he has the type of book I want."

Ziel nodded." I think there was a small library somewhere here. Most of the stuff is funded by the landlord, and I think he made sure to get as many imports as possible. I heard his hold on the land is fair, if a bit forceful in my opinion." She said, as Erin decided to take a seat next to them.
The chair was already out for them, probably from a previous customer.
"Why do you ask?" Asked Erin, looking bored at their conversation.

Gabriel through for a second "I've been enjoying having you as an ally, I'd like for you to think about what I'll say next because I don't want us to hate each other, so I figured something out, I'll let you decide on what to next, it was your friend after all."
Gabriel seemed serious about leaving Erin's fate for Ziel to decide if the time came, for now he seemed happy to have someone who he could trust after fighting for so many years alone.

Ziel got quiet for a second. Erin just looked away from the two. It wasn't a rude gesture, he almost looked hurt but in a more respectful way than his previous ways.
As for Ziel, she felt something for once. She didn't know what it was, but it felt nice, almost. They have been alone for so long, they where something like friends.
And yet, they had such a mutually toxic relationship that. . . She wasn't sure what life could be like without it. She wasn't sure what it would be like to have no one with her.
" Lonely hearts break easily. Broken hearts don't always mend. " Erin spoke up for a second.
"Thank you." Ziel said, ignoring his words.

Gabriel turned to the phantom "You're right about that Erin, but hopefully none of us get to be lonely anymore," tuning to Ziel he kept talking "we both been outcasts, we lived for a long time by ourselves and our loved ones are dead, but you know what, I will stand by your side and with a little more time I think we can be more than just allies, I wouldn't mind having someone as capable as you as a fried, even if I don't like your dog."

Gabriel asked Erin, he didn't let it answer the question before continued talking "This might be a mistake but if you can put aside the angry spirit bullshit and be honest I might consider stop calling you a dog, do you believe any of the nasty shit you say or you just are scared that she won't need you anymore ?" It was Erin's turn to smirk." Even if she wanted to get rid of me, she can't. I'm here to punish her every waking day. I'm her ever present reminder of her sins." Ziel just got quiet, and continued eating.
" Every fault, every selfish choice she's made, I've seen all of them. She deserves it, and she knows. " he glared at Gabriel coldly. He looked pained when saying this however, like he was almost into he verge of tears.
Ziel just seemed to dissociate. It was like she wasn't even there.
" And you shouldn't talk when you're already following her like a loyal dog as well. If you stay just know, I'll be here to torment you as well." Erin said through gritted teeth. He glared at Ziel, annoyed that she was blocking the entire conversation. He knew she heard him.

"Oh, so you really are jealous," Gabriel started laughing out loud, it seemed like the things that Erin had said to the both of them ticked the paladin pretty hard "I didn't know a ghost could be jealous, what's even funnier," Gabriel had to catch his breath for a second "He thinks that he can punish me for all the bad I did."
Once the Paladin had recomposed himself he took a bite of his food and almost choked once the urge to laugh creeped in for a second, "I'm sorry for laughing Ziel at all this horrible shit he just said, I just find a jealous angry spirit funny, I don't know why it's so funny to me."

Erin's body revealed itself more, going from being extremely translucent to revealing the large gash in his stomach. The blood covered their green shirt.
"Hmph, that stung, didn't it?" He snarked, leaning closer to Gabriel from his seat.

Gabriel was in the middle of drinking when he heard Erin and almost spited the drink "You bark too much dog, I have to figure out a way of getting you trained, maybe you would be great at herding sheep."
The paladin than turned around when he heard someone asking a question, he looked offended by the question, "Is shoving your noses on people's business a local tradition this city ? Yes, I'm okay, there's more to the world than your eyes can see, be glad you think I'm speaking to myself, now leave us alone please."

" I guess we can go head to the library. I'm not sure what you will find, but I don't think it will help." She admitted. She herself didn't believe Erin was a normal vengeful spirit.

"Honestly, I don't think they will have much here to research," he said while finishing his food "I rather search and find nothing than not search at all, I have a few guesses to what exactly he is."
After there were no more food in front of him, Gabriel would pay his part of the bill and follow Ziel to the library she had mentioned.
