“Oh, I see.” Givena replied, standing to curtsey in return(or at least repeat the gesture best she could, considering she wore pants and not a skirt). “Well it’s a pleasure to meet you. Your Highness” She hastily adds the latter statement, not wanting to seem rude to the princess. She had already been lacking in formality with the king, it would not do to act the same with all the royals. They usually weren’t as forgiving as the hellish King. “I am Givena, of the island of Éledún.” She said to introduce herself. “The king found me when I washed up.” She paused for a moment, thinking back to the water. “After everything was destroyed, I washed up here.” She added somberly. “What about you? The town seemed quite new as I was walking through, like homes were still being set up. How did you all arrive here?” "To be honest, we got lucky." She began, "My Father was a lord in hell, but after finally meeting his uncle, took issue with the slaves we used to keep down there. When the Old King got wind that he was plotting a slave rebellion, he banished him, so he took all the slaves he had and any others he could get and brought them here, to the surface and freed them! We were just lucky we found the one place that wasn't destroyed when we reached the surface!" As she told her story, she got more excited talking about her father's exploits. She was a daddy's girl alright.

Roleplay posts: 48
Age: ~23
Appearance: (note: icon temporary)
5'7" tall with a relatively thin, semi-athletic frame. Her blonde hair is cut to her shoulders and held up in a half-tail, with a pair of goggles resting on top of her head both keeping the hair out of her heterochromatic one-blue-and-one-aqua eyes. Generally she wears simple orange-ish tan breeches and a green sleeved shirt, occasionally with a harness made of wood and metal scraps and often carrying one or more of her creations.
Equipment: She has a small set of tools with which to cut and nail together wood and thinner metals, as well as a buckler-like shield with a blade coming out the front, cobbled together from scrap materials. She also has a pair of broken mechanical wings that are missing their old power source and a half finished forearm-mounted crossbow.
Skills and Abilities: She is highly creative, able to use even discarded and scrap materials to create interesting small tools, weapons, and similar pieces.
She is good with carpentry and basic mechanics, with passable knowledge in working cold metal.
Biography: She was born on the island of Éledún, home to one of the most magically gifted groups of humans in her world. However, from her birth it was known to all that she would lack any of these gifts for her entire life. Her eyes were enough to tell them that. So, to make up for the magical inadequacy she was so self-conscious of, she took up tinkering with wood and metal, creating small inventions to help around the town or to help fight(some...working much better than others). She spent most of her life trying to prove herself to her peers, but was always viewed as some eccentric outcast on the edge of town, until the flood washed everything away.

Givena listened to the young woman tell her tale, considering what she heard. “So it sounds like you didn’t even have to deal with the Waters. All for the better, really, it…wasn’t a pleasant experience, drifting out on that water for gods know how long.” She looks down at the floor, watching as the light cast through the window shifted with the moving sun. “After all that time in the mist I lost count of the days.”
Another part of the story caught her attention as well, when she thought back to it. “So, your father led the enslaved folk here, huh? She asks, looking to the door he walked though. It made sense, considering the surprisingly good nature he had shown her, and yet it still threw her off. She was still trying to reconcile what she was seeing here with all she had learned about demons over the rest of her life.
However, Given let those thoughts fall to the wayside as she saw how excited Lilresia was to talk about her father. She smirked. It was obvious she was proud of him, and from how she talked it was obvious that the two had an amazing relationship.
She wondered what that was like.

Only a week to plan. I guess that's what happens when you find out your aunt is a human and legally a slave. You get a little hot headed."

Givena nods along. “That does make sense.” She agrees, imagining the awful scenario. “It is a good thing you all made it out of there alive then.” She thinks back to the news she had heard coming out of Sesæria, all of the magical refugees who had made their way to Éledún. “And in one piece. Others couldn’t have been so lucky.”

Givena brought a hand to her chin, contemplating this. “I see. Well, good to know I’m not the only one at least.” She commented. “Here’s hoping whoever she was, she wasn’t the only other one to get out.”

Some sort of port down south going through a food crisis or something, not sure beyond that though."

“Really?” Givena asked, leaning back on her seat. Her mind began to race, trying to figure out if it was someone she knew. Could it be other survivors from Éledún? Perhaps from some other province in Vérilia? “Did she tell you the settlement’s name? Perhaps what the people are like?” She questioned, trying not to sound too frantic in her interrogation.

"not sure, to be honest, they apparently came on a great big boat. Not sure what went on there as our emissary never came back." There was a small creak from behind them, like a door opening.

“A big boat?” Givena repeated, her mind drawing back to the rumors she had heard out of the capital, tales of a giant ark built in the middle of the land. In her mind, it was almost guaranteed to be the Vérilian royals and whoever else they could fit from the capital. “Maybe one day I should go meet them. They sound like people it would be good to get to know.”
Upon hearing the door begin to creek, she whipped her head around to see what or who was entering the room.

From the door emerged the king, now back in his proper finery.
"Ah, i see my daughter has kept you company, I hope she wasn't too troublesome?" The king asked

Givena relaxes upon seeing that it was just the king. “Not at all.” She reassures, standing to greet him. “She’s simply been entertaining me and telling me a bit about your journey here, along with some of the people you’ve met. It sounds like you’ve had quite the time, I have to say.”

"not much of a royal, if I'm frank." He began, looking to deflect her praise. "A few years ago, I was the third son of a two-bit noble. No prospects or even marriage chances, since I'm not an heir. Not like I'm much of a looker either, by our standards. I just got lucky, at the end of the day."
