Age: 42
Appearance: He is a humanoid figure that is tall and thin. His skin is grey and smells like ash. He wears royal robes with the symbol of his people in the center. Underneath he wears only raggedy worn black pants.
Due to his neutral face shape, he looks like he is always smiling to people. However, his does not mean he is happy. When he grins, it's an indication of anger and not happiness.
Equipment: His royal robes and crown are the only thing he keeps on him. His crown is made of wood, that is especially tough.
His robes meanwhile are heavy and durable. They're big enough that he is able to hide his form inside them, to block damage.
Skills and Abilities: Despite being a thin man he has surprising speed and strength. He may not be very durable physically, but he has enough strength to tear into live prey. He uses this as a surprise, to make opponents lower their guard and allow him to strike.
His limbs are also long and flexible, with him being able to move in unnatural looking ways. He uses this flexibility to try and restrain people.
His strongest weapon however is his snake and shark like jaws. His bite is powerful enough to crush flesh, metal and bone. His teeth are thick with sharp serrations and replenish over the course of a few days. He is also able to unhinge his jaw to eat things bigger than normally possible
He also has two magic abilities he has honed.
Firstly he is able to manipulate his own blood. He is capable of solidifying it and transforming it into bone or solid blood. He rarely ever uses this however, and it is more of a last resort.
His second magical ability is within his Soul. His necromancy comes from he ability to give pieces of his soul to death things. If he gives a piece of his soul to something he can manipulate their flesh and blood to do his bidding. These pieces always return to him when needed. Revived beings are semiautonomous and follow his every order.
He is capable of giving a piece of his soul to living beings. He is unable to hurt of control people with it however, as it is not strong enough to fight something living.
When a living person is given a piece of his soul he is capable of healing injuries and pain from others. He can pour strength into a person and make them stronger as well.

The kind of the ghouls winced as they saw Jace get kicked. Looked like it hurt quite as bit. These people where about as aggressive as most of the people in his home, though he can't stay they where not right to be on edge for most of them.
Vicent turned to Kia as he answered Jace, raising an eyebrow. He wasn't sure why she was so strange, but he would be a little wary." We heard a battle as we scouted around for territory. We had decided on finding ourselves some hunting grounds. When we found the bodies of the fallen, we decided to take what we could." He said, firmly and simply.
Vicent began to smile as his stress rose." Whatever is going on we are not a part of it. Think of us as the vultures that come after a battle." He said as his people hid behind some rocks and beneath the canopy of trees. Their eyes glowed faintly in the shadows, being the only indicators that they were still there.

Age: Though in truth decades old, his appearance would hint at him being past 20 yet younger than 30.
Appearance: An inhumanly large man at well above two meters in height, he is pale as typical for most vampires. His visage and body is well chiselled, a powerful form given some effeminate polish (this comes in a few forms: clear use of makeup, painted nails, and floral perfumes). It would easily be considered handsome if it had not the appearance of being shattered like porcelain with black cracks all along his skin sometimes but not necessarily coinciding with veins. His hair is long and black, whilst his once blue eyes are now wholly white, absent of any colour on the bulbs; paradoxically, they turn black when illuminated by direct light as if casting shadows within themselves, softening again to a necrotic yellow if that light is of the sun. In between every rib is a slit in his flesh wherein he created improvised gills of his own body along with a great deal of other modifications he subsumes into his own meat. However few will see this of him, most instead seeing the ornate armour or robes he wears with a combination of nautical and vampiric themes. Hammered directly into his breast is a strange contraption of metal, oft leaking black ooze.
Equipment: Quite variant, a fact exacerbated by him hiding much under his flesh.
Skills and Abilities: He has the powers typical of the Correa vampiric bloodline, but extremely heavily watered down both by virtue of his severance from connection with the Matriarch Maribel, and further by the fact he starves himself of blood for ever longer periods of time. At the same time he seems supernaturally resilient and regenerative of any trauma done on his flesh even for a vampire.
To gain sufficient power to defeat Maribel, he has began experimenting upon his own body. For now these changes have mostly been the addition of the abilities of nautical creatures but he seeks to expand the arsenal of bestial abilities assimilated.
Reading a great many grimoires and tomes he has quite the magical repertoire.
All his flesh-craft has given him a non-negligible ability to shapeshift, though this is a quite slow process involving a violent breaking of bones and torn meats.
Biography: Not much is known. The best person to ask would be that bitch he keeps muttering about.

Laszlo drummed his fingers of his left hand on a lap. Though Vicent hadn't truly ignored him, it felt to the vampire as if he had.
"But, why should we believe you?" he asked, his voice now deeply on edge. "Vultures don't eat just dead things. Sometimes they kill things, make them dead to eat. And likening yourself to verminous carrion is not endearing, I must tell you. It does not make me think I should believe you at your word, even if some of my companions seem to be forced to do so by happenstance of their birth." the vampire said, very unsubtly referring to Kua.

Vincent kept his mouth closed." Vultures are hardly killers like you say my friend." He kept his strange brown bag sling over his shoulders. He tried not to grin like he usually did when he was getting nervous.
"Please do not make this hard for us. We rarely get the chance to eat what we need to do to live. If I hurt these people in would have taken souls and corpses to use for my army." He said, opening his bag to reveal the skull of a young dragonkin. One of its eyes flared blue, a wisp of energy flying around inside it.

Wendy did not dodge the soul shard. She instead let it hit, in a pure devilish impulse of curiosity. She knew the King of Ghouls would not kill her, and pain was no issue. Her desire to know what it was overruled her better sense to keep playing with her food.
What would it do? She wondered with impish delight, oh what would it do? Such thoughts danced about her brain as she prepared for what would be a fascinating round of magical fun.

Roleplay posts: 104
Age: 90 (appears early 20s)
Appearance: A thin half-elf, whose olive skin has a greenish tint. Slightly pointed ears. Noticeably wide grin. Dark brown eyes and straight black hair.
Her knuckles are calloused with little scars.
Equipment: A pitch black long coat-style gambeson and a kettle helmet. A longsword inscribed with runes. A pouch of medicinal herbs. A buckler with a long chain attached to it.
A clay flute. A pair of fuzzy pink earmuffs.
A thick black book filled with strange notes...
Skills and Abilities: Kua possesses remarkable gymnastic and martial arts abilities. Her kinesthetic intelligence is very high. She is also a skilled sword fighter and unconventional buckler wielder. Kua also possesses the potential for fire and holy magic. The mists keep it at bay, but the force of her emotions can occasionally overcome it.
She is quite skilled with a flute.
She struggles with complex abstract concepts and mathematics, and demonstrates no social fear. She has a heart condition that requires periodic herbal treatment.
Biography: Kua Redford was born with a disability similar to William's Syndrome. Her parents were overprotective and fearful Kua would never be able to live a normal life. However, Kua also possessed a fierce, independent drive. What started as basic self-defense lessons became an obsession with becoming a warrior so that she could survive on her own.
Kua was enabled by the King of her city-state of Whitehall, a man who saw great potential in her. He had her further trained so she could fulfill her wish of becoming a great paladin someday. Although there were many doubters and Kua's progress was slow, the king went to his deathbed still believing in her dream.
(It didn't hurt that the king was secretly her grandfather. But that is a very long story.)
Because Kua is a half-elf, she ages slowly. Bigots from her world believe her "condition" to be a result of her being a half-breed.

Kua's mind strained heavily trying to make sense of the current situation. She began to wonder what her grandfather would do.
Yes, her grandfather, once one of Whitehall's greatest champions, wielder of light magic, friend of Kyra... but also a different god. A god of death.
She sighed. "Maybe... we should give them a chance."
She turned to Laszlo. "I might have told you that my grandfather was once a king of a city-state named Whitehall. But what I probably didn't mention, is that before he became king, he was a monster too. They called him a withered, a type of undead similar to a shambling skeleton. He was greatly feared, and rightfully so, since most of his kind were slaved to the will of darkness. But, he wasn't."
She turned to Vincent. "He resisted. The good in him overpowered the curse and he became the darkness' greatest enemy. In fact, he and several other misfit champions helped save our world from destruction all those years ago. His curse was lifted because of that, and it was also how he earned the title of king, but that's a story for another time."
Kua gestured around and turned back to Laszlo. "My mind isn't suited to scholarly stuff but, history does like to repeat itself, right?"

Vincent made a close mouth smile as he hear this story. He was a king of the dark in the metaphorical and literal sense." I can't say we can fight our nature. We are not as evolved as we wished." He said, looking his skull in hand.
Looking at Wendy who was hit by his soul shard he decided to keep going to see how much he could sway them for himself. Looking at her directly, he moved his fingers in a strange pattern. He knew his soul fragments had the ability to make people to feel empathy, though it was only rarely that it ever worked against his enemies. Determined people were hardly where this affected.
He made a grabbing motion, trying to pull at her emotions." You and I seem almost like kin. Tell me, do you have a heart?" He asked nicely. He was prying at her soul to pull at her empathy. He wasn't sure how effective it should be, but people who have never felt it before where usually caught off guard by it.

Foliage snapped like the bones of rodents, leaves and grass rustled like shifting pages and broken branches fell to the ground with dull thuds.
Travels Far, the Faceless homunculus, long since grown impatient with the diplomatic chattering of Trueborn and Reborn was moving, moving amd changing. While eyes had not been upon it's profane body it's limbs stretched grotesquely, glistening red meat between those dirt stained segments of carapace. Small finger like protrusions had branched out from the flesh, keeping the ungainly thing stable as it strode towards the others, moving with all the grace of a crudely animated scarecrow, four limbs.
Each step it made on it's four limbs tore a new print in the soft earth, all while the blank visage it used in leiu of a face dangled limply, the living weapon not caring to keep up appearances any longer. Thoughts pulsed through it's alchemically forged flesh as it moved with a singularly unnatural gait.

Wendy's head snapped at an awkward angle with a stunning and dramatic crack, then a shivering shudder rattled her spine and she gave a soft pained hiss, "Ohhhhh, that'sssss what you had in miiiind," she said in almost sing song voice as she bent forwards in her skin. Her eyes were suddenly very dark and hollow as they stared back at him, "Deep and bloody my heart beats, in tune with the sun and stars as they spin in the air above," she said trickily, "But I do not think you'll find me oh so inclined to use it often," she almost choked with a sharp laugh as she drew herself back, then forward, and then back again as if pulling and spinning with the idea being given her, "Oh, what fun...what fun indeed, it's funny feeling this one, like a prickly ball bouncing around in my gut, ha ha...I think," she stumbled again, "I will bite," she blinked, "You for this friend..." she said grinning at him, although the tone did not seem...completely murderous.

The king began to grin from the tension. His smile was wide, his yellow teeth almost gleaming. It went from ear to ear. He tried again to pull at her metaphorical heart strings. 'Maybe it would work again?' He hoped in his mind he didn't just start another fight. He signaled something with his hand.
"I have to wonder why you lot came to such a terrible site like this in the first place. What exactly are you doing here?" He asked basically everyone there." I sure whatever is going on in this battle isn't something any of us want to get involved in. I very much wonder if you really wanted to take a stroll in this forest. Me and my people where looking to conquer a free lands. We happened to stumble across this."
He looked at Lazlo inquisitively, a scary man with an equally enigmatic band. He grinned wider, raising an eyebrow. He hoisted his bagged up skeleton and bag of meat." You lot look like you're on a quest of sorts. Am I wrong?" His people disappeared completely into the shadows, this time gone for good.

Laszlo cracked his neck a little harder than was anatomically possible for a normal man when told vultures don't kill. "Depends how hungry. I am not trying to make this hard for you. If its hard for you, then you're making it hard for yourself. In fact, I'm trying very hard to be nice! Isn't that right Kua?" Laszlo too smiled, trying to artificially mould his flesh to match the ghouls' grins. "Perhaps you did not take corpses or souls because you did not have the time. I must say, isnt the taking of souls quite objectionable, hmm? I feel the defences you raise for your acts only seem to make them worse."
The vampire whistled deeply as Wendy didn't even try to avoid the shard. Kua then spoke, and was again so annoyingly conciliatory. Take a stand you bitch! Hurt something! "Maybe...." he growled, mimicking the beginning of her speech. "An exception that proves the rule still proves the rule. People only say history repeats itself because they want an excuse for why bad things happen without blaming their Gods." a partially veiled insult to the Paladin's worship. Still, Laszlo took a deep breath and then relaxed. "Fine. You know this stuff better than me. If it goes wrong nobody blame me though!" he finished in a sing-song voice.
A low pitched whistle came from him as Travels-Far moved. Until this moment, he had not seen its flesh configured for war. Now, Kua's statement that they were oft called monsters made a lot more sense. Until now he only had his perception of their peace time forms in his head. They seemed to be mighty but harmless, like beasts of burden that they would be reduced to while enslaved. Like oxen, not bears. Now it seemed a whole lot worse. Which, of course, was good. It would mean they would be a greater asset, and that inevitably Laszlo would have to ask them for a bit of meat from the mightiest of their kind to study. For now he just let himself gaze in fascination of the lifeform he suddenly had an entirely new appreciation for.
He was very suddenly distracted afterwards by Wendy. The woman proved herself to be a lot more inhuman than initially thought. Laszlo clapped his hands together and then rubbed them like a fly greedily examining somebody's leftovers. "Oh would I could learn." He laughed at Wendy's words. "So poetic. Tell me, what exactly are you? And would you be willing to surrender a few small bits of yourself? Nothing severe, just some blood, nails, hair... that goes to you too!" he finished, turning to the ghouls too.
To Vicent's question, Laszlo shrugged. "Travelling. You don't need more of an answer. But a quest is an accurate description yes. You happen to fit into it quite neatly if I say so myself."

"I would never blame you Laszlo." It was hard to tell if Kua was being unironic or not.
Kua took another glance at the dragonkin skull. One of the misfit champions she had mentioned before was a dragonkin. Her eyes hardened and she swallowed with distaste. But they softened again with sympathy for the ghoul king.
"If you're telling the truth, your affliction isn't your fault. Everyone here has been given the opposite of a gift... except maybe Jace. Jace you're normal right?" She smirked before turning to the Ghoul King again. "But, not every monster wishes they were something else. There are some who enjoy their curse and revel in it at the expense of others. One of these things has a name, Maribel Correa."
She shrugged. "If you want, maybe you can help us defeat her. This world, there is already too much suffering here. If you help us make it better, perhaps it will further atone for your sins, and earn you some true friends. But, it will be a difficult fight. According to Laszlo she is a mighty foe."
Kua suddenly had a nasty thought. "Oooh." She tisked and grimaced with disgust. "If you can... if you can remove the blood from the bodies you need to feed on, we have someone who can use it, I think."
Kyra forgive me.

Jace was listening to the conversation when Kua mentioned his name. His ears perked up. "Normal is uhh someway to put it I suppose. I am human, I think that's where the normal ends though."
Jace wanted to give the ghouls the benefit of the doubt. For now, they're not the ones he's cautious of, this Wendy person gives Jace a bad feeling as if something is crawling up his back that he can't quite shake. "Having a common enemy strengthens bonds better than a common friend." It definitely keeps from facing the knife of betrayal, figuratively and literally. "The more advantages we can have in defeating this Maribel person, the better. If you think that it will be better to bring more along fine by me." He gives a quick look between Kua and Laslow who he thinks are the leaders of their band of misfits. Kua has the qualities of a leader to inspire the group and Laslow has the tactical knowledge of just what monstrosity they will soon be facing.
"What happens after we defeat her? And in the worst-case scenario, we fail? Should we fail and escape with our lives will Maribel hunt us down?" These questions just occurred to Jace. The best-case scenario is to win but what insurance do they have in place to ensure that the merry band of misfits don't turn on each other? He sure knows that not all of them get along like peas in a pod.
